50%? Our property taxes went up 200% in 8 months just because of our commissioners misappropriation of funds and needing to cover their own butts. What ever happened to no taxation without representation!?
Wait, so 3x the neighbors value and the assessor is saying they will fix it and make it half of the original?
"We reviewed everything, but we didn't". Yeah, makes sense.
Keep voting blue Colorado. Democrats will never stop at extracting as much money as possible out of the tax paying citizens. But can’t blame them people still vote for them.
County assessors have nothing to do with politics 🙄
@@Starfish2145 Ignorance is bliss. Colorado recently repealed a 1985 law that held property taxes in check. It was politicians that lied to the public to get the law removed from the books. Why? To raise property taxes!
I live in a Republican run city and State and our property taxes also skyrocketed. Explain that. Your ignorance is showing.
@@jaklg7905 You are very ignorant of the history of Colorado. Before you give your opinion, do a little research.
In 1985, Colupassed a law that held property taxes in check.
Colorado voters repealed the 1985 law in 2020. This happened due to the lies democrat politicians pushed. In 2022 the democrats tried to scam folks again, but failed.
Property taxes are out of control everywhere. Time to put a stop to it.
Legal theft by legislation. I’m fed up and I’ve sold my house because it’s the only recourse I have. Non participation
Someone wants this property
The land grab should be shocking to all of us, thats what is happening
So glad to hear that Boulder is willing to review the assessment. Interesting how the property tax assessments in the state are going up - and my salary as a teacher does not even keep up with inflation (so I am effectively making less and less each year). I was always under the impression that the schools were funded via property taxes.
This is happening all over the USA. You don't own, just rent from the county.
Podcast have spoiled me. I hate the way these news cast edit interviews
One of the elites said "hmmm...I like that location and I don't even have to wait to bulldoze the house. I'll make some calls..."
Somebody at CBS is going to get a call and be told "you weren't supposed to bring attention to this. Next time, check with us first".
I have been watching videos on property tax fraud. Some of the local governments are over-estimating the value of property to fill their budgets.
The sad fact is when they can't raise your appraisal to squeeze more money out they just change the percentage you are charged higher to make up the difference. Saw a big city raise the percentage of the whole town to pay for their over spending.
They need to have recent comps to use. Can't be based on net opinion .
Boulder, CO, where they complain that big planes fly over their city…🙄
That's what happens when you live in Commirado.
If you pay taxes on it, you don’t own it. It’s on borrow even though you paid for it courteous to uncle Sam.
They’re trying to steal his land!!!
Boulder...
Whenever you’re dealing with any public entity do so through an attorney. You’ll get better results.
Perfect example of how the government can't go without money. But you can.
Colorado has adopted California politics, policies and people. So it goes the way of California.
When is Colorado going to march on the capital over this? My mother's home has gone up 140k in 2 years. She cannot survive that....
Hi,I’m from the Government and I’m here to help.
When you give government power they will never give it up and they will use it on anybody they see fit
Wait a minute. If his bill is cut in half that still makes it 50% more than his neighbor and HE HAS NO HOUSE!
