    The 124 is an impressive knife. Will you use it or is it just for the collection?

    Very cool Buck 124. That is about the best knife out there for sheer ruggedness and taking to the field. The little nick in the handle adds character and makes it yours. That knife was made in Post Falls Idaho which is local to me. I made a short trip over to the factory and picked up one just like yours about five years ago. It is the Beast of the cabinet right alongside the K-Bar. Most folks probably already know, but I will mention that Buck also does pretty affordable custom work through their website. Thanks for a great review.

    Great knife. When you put it next to the 119 it’s like a Great White next to a Megaladon!

  • @knife_knut
    @knife_knut Год назад +2

    Yep, they’re fine knives. Your knife was made in 2021 based on the little symbol next to “124” (they use a different symbol each year). The new 124’s come in a black box inside of a black sleeve - classier box. These run $184.99 (with free shipping) directly from Buck but subscribe to their email newsletters & wait for a discount code - recently got another 124 for 20% off of the $184.99. Thanks for video!

    Nice pick up👍. I had one back in the late 80's bought from a gun store here. Had a bit of an incident with it and ended up giving it away. Had brown slabs if I remember correctly.

      Ah the old "one that got away" story, eh? lol I can honestly say, I don't think I'll ever be giving this one away... 😉

      @@singingtoad There wasn't the thought of, 'I better hold onto it in case I can't get another one,' with things back then.
      I've got another one that I had around the same time that means more to me anyway.

    • @singingtoad
      @singingtoad  Год назад +1

      @@andrewh6034 I get that completely. Most of the knives in my collection have no sentimental value to me at all, nor do I collect knives with the intent of them gaining value and to be sold for more at a later time. Only about a handful of the knives I own are ones I'll never part with...

      @@singingtoad I highly recommend any of the Ritter rsk series fixed or folder. Awesome users. The the Deka series is great too if you want an excellent smaller light weight knife. They have the Deka in 20cv and magnacut in a wharncliffe or clip point for well under $200. Big bang for your buck with Hogue. The full size rsk folders are 20cv steel for around $160 American and the mini is supposed to be great too. The fixed blade is s45vn and just under $200. It's a great carry. I actually showed it in my last post. They make the sig k320 tanto and drop points in s30v for just over $100 and they all have the able lock. The able lock is pretty much an improved version of benchmades axis lock. I highly recommend any of those for a first Hogue but I love them all so far.
