My daughter is 2 and I’ve been researching homeschool tools since I’ve had her, in order to be prepared. I love how your very relaxed about it but it’s also clear your children are learning. My mom was always stressed to the max homeschooling and we would go to conferences as a family and all the speeches would be from very stressed out moms about how to try not to stress. I know everyone was doing their very best but it really made an impression on me and I would like my daughter to see joy in me when teaching her and not stress all the time. Thanks for inspiring and sharing your homeschool knowledge and doing it with joy.
I love that you share so openly and school so flexibly. You inspire our home a lot. ☺️ my son is 3.5 and he did Horizons Prek3 last year per your recommendation with Riley! He’s a year ahead and will be doing Prek4 this year in a month or two. We like to school year round so we can also skip days (and weeks) wherever feels natural for our family! Just sending some good vibes that Jackson will do better with prek3 than you expect- maybe he will just need a slightly different approach is all! So far my boy seems extremely eager to learn similar to Riley, and my younger daughter seems interested to be involved but to do everything her own way instead of being taught or led.. kind of like Jackson. 😂 maybe it’s a second child thing. Anyways! Love you!
I admire your dedication to teaching your children and making sure that they are learning but not being too overbearing so it's not enjoyable for your beautiful kids! Your kids seem to be very happy and bright kids so your doing something right!! Hope your feeling ok in your pregnancy, I'm just a little ahead of you at 27 weeks, Saturday I will be 28 and in the 3rd trimester and this is my first so I'm a little overwhelmed!! Happy your back in beautiful Miami, I'm in Tampa so not too far from you.
My son will be 4 in a November, and I have been trying this year to teach him the ABCs, also colouring, tracing letters, and he is not interested, he rather explore through playing, he only does free colouring sitting down sometimes😅 and he knows everything similar to what Jackson knows. So watching this gave me a bit of a relief! He does know both English and Spanish, I have only talked Spanish to him since he was born and my husband English. Kids also pick it up super super quickly around this ages! I loveee your vlogs and vids❤ thank you for always sharing!
I would love it if you did your favorite books for the kids video!! Im obsessed with reading books to my kids and finding new books for them to explore. My library does home delivery so we are always getting books delivered here 🤣🤣 Awesome video, I love how your homeschool is relaxed and very curiosity based which is what I would do! So happy that you guys made it to Miami, I absolutely love it there ⛱️
It doesn’t matter boy vs girl. My son is 3 and begs to do “homework” everyday and already starting to read. We’re doing TGATB as well for La and math. Also working through 100 easy lessons and sometimes we’ll add in treehouse schoolhouse units which I love! Love watching all your videos!!
Love the suggestions for adding spanish into homeschool. We are in a similar dynamic and I started using the Llamitas Preschool Morning binder with my 4 year old. It's been a game changer! The lessons are short and I've found that my kids (I also have a 2 yr old) are picking up the Spanish quicker now that we do the lessons consistently. Such a great tool for parents raising bilingual kids (even if the parents aren't fluent because you get all the instructions in English as well on top of audio to help with pronunciation)
I saw that another vlogger family I follow was getting these boxes by Learning with Kelsey, so I ordered one and we just started now in May. But anyways it comes with everything you need to do a project 5 days a week for the whole month. We got the toddler box and it’s all flower and summer themed. So far I am loving it, and you don’t have to buy any supplies yourself. Just thought you might want to check it out
Awsome video! Thank you Kayla 💖 I've been home schooling my oldest daughter for 1.5 years now and she learned so much. In Aug she will start VPK and turning 5 years in sep. I'm gonna start homeschooling my 3 year old in fall :) I will definitely check out the curriculums you showed us in this video. And the books looks so pretty! Lovely pictures. I want to buy them right away lol.
I am just finishing TGTB kindergarten language arts and math curriculum with my 6 year old. She is also in kindergarten at a private school. We started TGTB last summer and did a few lessons a week. During the school year we have limited it to 1-2 lessons on the wknds. We both have really loved the curriculum! I printed the free curriculum and laminated it so I can use with my son in the future. We are planning to start TGTB 1st grade this summer! Can’t beat the curriculum being totally free. Thanks for sharing your update on homeschool/curriculum for both kids 😀
Thanks for the video! Very helpful! And keep us posted on the Spanish learning please. My daughter is almost 2, and we are wanting to work towards her (and us!) learning a second language in the next few years (and beyond). My family is from Puerto Rico so that has been a lifelong goal for me that we are starting now.
I have a 3 year old that turns 4 in early December just like Jackson! So I am looking fwd to seeing what you do with Jackson. Also kid is obsessed with trucks/cars 😮
This video (as I’m in the middle of watching it) is amazing Kayla❤ Something that I’ve always hoped to do with my kids is workbooks and taking more control over their schooling…as my son is currently in public school grade 2, he’s never enjoyed sitting down with me to do school work, even at Pre K level. So I’ve had to just trust that he’s learning properly at school. And I know his teachers are awesome! But with my daughter who is 2, I’m hoping she wants to sit and get a head start on this stuff. Obviously once she’s 3-4 years old😅 But YOU ARE SO INSPIRING!!! I love this so much❤
Love the good and the beautiful so far!! I just ordered those Julia rothman books! Im gonna have to get that arts and craft book for the kids to just have!
I use the good and beautiful and while my son is doing his handwritten I read our daily bread for kids 365 devotional and it's perfect for adding more Jesus into our school 😊
Great tips thank you for sharing Kayla. In my honest opinion I don’t think learning has much to do with them being boys or girls, I honestly believe it has a lot more to do with the child’s temperament.
Hi Kayla how are you doing I pray for y'all every morning and every night love Devin .I'm still stuck in Ga my brothers live in florida. I miss Florida. Take care and please be safe. ❤❤❤❤❤
My 3 yo loves iPad time and I was wondering if you use any apps to supplement your workbooks? She has done really well with reading but I was looking for other learning apps. Thanks!
My daughter will be turning four soon we are looking to homeschool is there a reason you didn’t start with the good and the beautiful for prek. That’s the program we were looking to purchase

I am a reading specialist. If you have not already, make sure to look into phonological and phonemic awareness lessons for Riley! Very important.
