Rey Mysterio was alot of kids favorite wrestler growing up
Fortunately for Rey, his wins and loses don’t mean much at all. When he doesn’t win, the fans sympathize with him and love him regardless.
Rey got me into wrestling as a white country boy I'd never seen anybody do what he did. I always hated how wwe treated him. He's such a nice humble guy.
Everyone knows that Rey was acquired ONLY for the sake that AEW wouldn't be able to get him. I would love for Rey to lead a faction like the one that @dukesucks mentioned (L.H.P. , Andrade & Zelina). There is enough gold for each component of this faction to go after gold. Besides that I can't imagine how big of a pop they would get in areas that are more catered to the Mexican wrestlers!

I always hated how Vince buried Rey. But coincidentally the more he tried to bury Rey the more he rose until he could no longer be ignored. The longevity and height of his career is phenomenal. He is well respected and loved which a lot of “Top Guys” don't have. Rey’s career is the definition of using your enemies as your stepping stone. #ForeveraFan

I've always been a fan of Rey, but with all due respect, I think it's unfair to say they aren't doing enough with him or treating him badly as far as a push or his character goes. For a guy 5'4 that spent all of his wcw time as a cruiserweight, the WWE have him the title on their biggest stage at wm22. Did anybody ever think a guy 5'4 would be their world champion? You can say they dropped the ball with him and didnt give him a proper run with the title. But, let's not forget that wrestling, especially 13 years ago, was something taken a little more seriously as far as size and strength goes. I personally see Rey as one of the biggest overachievers in wrestling history. At this stage, if he's making great money and im sure he is, what's the big issue? Lastly, wrestling is a work as we all know, but Konnan mentioned Umaga squashing Rey and why are we to believe it should be any other way? One man is 5'4 160ish, the other is supposed to be a monster Samoan thats about 6'1 325. Being that it was in San Diego, sure, let Rey get a roll up or win somehow to pop the crowd and make them happy. Overall, obviously any monster heel would and should destroy a guy Rey's size. If Rey was 6 feet with his build now, he's a world champion, but a guy 5'4 should have never made it as far in the wrestling business as Rey did and if he's been wise with his money, I think he has to be pretty happy with his overall career.
Ok first off he’s 5’7 not 5’4 and second have you even watched his matches? He can wrestle with the best of them, and the bigger guys he’s way faster than them and they usually work that angle where he’s an underdog and takes a pounding then on his last shred of effort he wins.

I believe he's the greatest and most popular luchadore in this country and possibly top 2 or 3 in Mexico of all time. I'm not knocking him at all. I dont doubt McMahon said it, but I think we've all made racial slurs, even if it's just as a joke, but as I've gotten older I'm definitely more conscience of the things I say and McMahon definitely needs to since he's running a billion dollar company and in today's racial climate, people are just waiting for you to say the wrong thing. But, i personally don't think Rey being Mexican has hurt his career. I could be wrong, but if anything I think him being Mexican has really helped him in the wwe because they want to cater to the Hispanic audience and Rey is one of those guys that community loves.

The reason he came back and he has re-signed is Dominik and maybe Aliyah. He wants to be a big superstar and he is on his way. She may also have a future as a valet or a manager if she wants. Also, AEW wouldn't book them much better and couldn't pay as much as WWE. He could've gone back and forth between Mexico and Japan and not do anything in the States, but I don't see Dominik becoming a superstar without Rey and without WWE, not so soon at least

Konnan you did the right thing to get Rey Rey a huge pay day because....you asked why is WWE getting veteran wrestlers and not doing anything with them? Simple if WWE has them then they can't play for someone else. Then they can't help the competition. Also its like the AJ move, yes they use and want AJ Styles but look at it this way he already said this is his last contract so basically his full time wrestling will be over after this last 5yr WWE deal. And guess what that means he will only be a part timer maybe 3-8 matches a year after that. So WWE had his last best years. Stopping AEW from having AJ when they could have used him tremendously.

Let me also add, Konnan himself said "the time is ticking is on this guy". If that's the case, and you're running a wrestling company, you probably don't want to invest in a guy that's a little older with a style that's very difficult to maintain. Let's be real, prime Rey in my opinion was the cleanest least botching high flier ever, but he's definitely lost a step and making more mistakes. personally I hate "you fucked up" chants and dont think everything has to be perfect, but now that work rate is so highly valued by comic books nerds that can't get laid, Rey's work isn't what it used to be. He was on wm35 in the US title match and although it was a short squash, he was injured coming in and if we're being real honest, that match didn't even NEED to be on the card, period. Rey is a legend, but time isn't on his side and with fans and their lust for perfect spots and work rate, I think Rey has to be pretty happy he's still in the big show and making big money even if he's playing second or third string. I'll say it again...Not bad for a guy 5'4 and way under 200 pounds.
