What would you do if Rey Mysterio kicked open your door? 😂 Let us know in the comments!
I’d ask him if he was ok and if he needed a Snickers.
Shit myself then ask him if he wants my autograph.
My immediate reaction would be to jump up and yell "WHO'S THAT JUMPIN OUT THE SKY REY MYSTERIO!! HERE WE GO!"
I'd tell him I don't talk to deadbeats and tell him to leave
"Bro, it's a curtain."
Cody's Rey Mysterio impression made me chuckle, great story.
Weirdly, he's the rare one that didn't do Vince impression at all, considering everyone seems be able to do Vince impression spot on.
@@sonicslv6132 Yep seems so, but that Rey impression tho9ugh, that was brilliant.
it was a horrible impression but it was funny lol
@@GartherB Yep, a bad impression can be good if it's used in a funny way and this was.
Because of Cody's lisp it sounds like he's doing Jay Leno a little bit.
I love stories about WWE old guard that basically go "yeah, so then he kicked Vince's door down, spat in his face, and called him a pussy and that's how we got the match at Mania"
That does seem like how you got his attention, though. Everyone who complains about Vince not listening to them talk about how they text him, call him, and email him. The guys that got the shit they wanted booted his door down or talked with him in person, and I think it's a respect thing. Can you imagine how many calls or emails Vince must've gotten back then? The guys who had been around knew that the way to get his attention was to just kick his door in and state plainly what you wanted. Cody and Rey were the perfect combo in that sense, Rey kicked the door in to get his attention, and Cody had the plan to keep it.
Vince, for all his faults and there was tons of them, I think ultimately wanted to know that you cared and that you were going to fight for every second of tv time you got. Someone who is just happy to be living their dream isn't going to draw a ton of money because the audience won't believe that they believe what they're saying. And the way you show you care in vince's eyes is you take charge. I think triple h's management style is better, it feels more like a collaboration, but I dont think that wanting to see fire as your main management style is a bad one. It's the rest of the shit that's bad
"Idk why he put so much trust in me"
Youre the Dreams son. Rey knew what he was doing
Honestly worked really good & helped Rey son to give back. Truly to men who admire their work & each other
facts
For the record, that's not exactly what Cody said...
He would have wanted someone to do the same for his son if he weren't around. Therefore he paid an old legend back out of respect for what they all do and to protect wrestling bloodlines.
Doesn't always mean everything. Ted DiBiase Jr didn't really go anywhere
The Rey Mysterio impersonation had me rolling 🤣
Speedy Gonzales voice.
Sounds more like Tyson 😂
Freal
That damn rey impression 😂
The way he put Rey Mysterio over just with this story alone tells you all you need to know how much he respects him and business they work for. 💯
If a mexican luchador on misterios level says "im not interested" is basically saying i wanna work you, surprise me. He wanted to see what younwere capable in both work, ideas and how you were gonna treat him. He is a vet. He tested you in many way. To see how inpatient you were, respectful etc. im sure he was eager to get in there with ya. He just wanted to give you a moment of great learning
Right, and I think the key is Rey's confidence. Rey hadn't worked Cody much, and he assured Vince personally that the story would be good and that they'd have a good match. Now the responsibility is on Rey to deliver. If that feud sucks and the match sucks, it's Rey whose head is on the chopping block, not Cody's. So Cody gets the credit with 0 of the blowback, and he gets to see first hand how a veteran handles vince. You can't pay for that experience.
I think Rey allowing Cody to plan the whole thing was even more important than people realize, he allowed Cody to really show how much knowledge and expertise he has and to show Vince specifically that they should trust him.
Great perspective. Cody said he didn't know why Rey did it but that sounds the most plausible. Rey is such a genuine person.
And if the whole thing sucked,it would've been Rey who got heat for it, because he was the one who assured vince it'd be great. So Cody gets the credit, and none of the heat
Forgot Cody has a base form. Bro been in Super Saiyan for so long now
bro been doing the gohan ssj2 training
@@Ark-oi3qy hi this is a Wendy’s
Rey Mysterio will always be one of my all-time favorites inside the ring, and the more I hear stories about him outside the ring, the more I love him. An absolute legend.
The only person I've ever heard say anything bad about Rey as a man is Rey himself, which is a huge testament in a business where most wrestlers shit talk just to make themselves look better no matter how truthful it is.
Good guy Rey. He knew Vince listens to him cause Rey's such a legend.
His Rey impression is wonderful!
Rey has a career long history of working with people who become big stars in the business, his style just meshes very well with almost anyone worth the time
I liked Broken Mirrors character so much, it felt so different. I could imagine this thing go as far as Mankind did back in the days but it ended abruptly.
Maybe not Mankind but I get what you’re saying
UnDashing Cody Rhodes should have been Cody's early breakthrough
I think his Stardust character had so much potential, they just needed to give him a somewhat decent push. The music was legit, it was like seeing a new Goldust.
@@keonisan I think we’re the only two people who like Stardust 😂😂😂
@@TheDirtySouth404 I also think Velvetine dream had the potential to be a Goldust but his real life demons got the better of him.
Cody's mask character was incredible, nobody talks about it but he was an amazing heel in 2011
Rey has balls of steel
his rey voice sounds like jay leno
It actually sounds like his father when you think about
So “THE BAGGERS” was Vince’s idea - that was honestly one of the best parts of the gimmick.
“Assistants… ASSIST ME.”
Cody’s Rey Mysterio impression is what I imagine Mike Tyson sounds like without a lisp
Only Cody DOES have a lisp lolololol
Man, I'm not from the UK, but seeing Cody drinking a pint of Guiness and his suits makes me think it would be really fun to hear him telling backstage stories in a pub with some 90s rock playing in the background before going for a game of darts.
Him, Sheamus and McIntyre in a Pub must be one hell of an evening.
Ireland isn’t UK 😅
Guinness is about as Irish as it gets, come on now
what i really like abnout cody is that he never shies away from acknowledging his father and how that set him up, but also on realizing that she can become his own man and take forward his own version of 'the dream'. veterans recognise that and nurture it well
I feel like I have heard another story about Rey just crashing into Vince's office to tell him about a match he wants to work
Vince respected Rey as Rey is a legend, and has brought WWE astronomical profits from merch.
This is what can happen when veterans respect rookies and rookies respect veterans! No body protecting spots just respect and trust! This is part of the business every company could learn from!
Man, his Rey impersonation is amazing
The Irish guy is drinking water....Cody is drinking Guinness...that's hilarious.
He's Scottish
There is no Irish guy on stage....
@@dizzygunner yes I've gathered....i wholeheartedly apologize to you all.
He’s “working”
Cheeky bastard
Its amazing how much trust these guys had in Cody so fast. I mean, i can imagine. Hes Dusty's boy and Gold Dusts younger brother. Clearly he lives and breathes the stuff.
But to just say 'hey, make us a wreslemania match' is a ton of trust and respect.
😂 Him imitating Rey sounds like your average stereotypical nerd from the 80's "hey guys! You wanna see my baseball card collection"
I like that Rey basically went "sink or swim" with Cody. Either Cody gives it his all and give a great match or have a bad match with Cody. Rey can handle having a bad match because there's so many good matches he has had that one bad match wouldn't rock the boat. Cody having a bad match with Rey would ruin him because how could you have a bad match?
does sound like a "your dad was a GREAT booker & wrestler.... do you have his skills kid?"
I remember I was so pissed as a kid seeing Cody win that wrestlemania match😭
rey mysterio got the best drip in wwe
Never in this life I would have imagined Rey mysterio kicking down Vince's door and calling the shots.
Same. Thinking about it now though I guess the kids market and the latino market he must have made Vince a shit load of money so if he wanted something i'm sure he could have gotten it.
Rey is a brand himself. His merchandise is still the big.
A luchadore mask is almost synonymous with Rey Mysterio.
That was a really good match glad Cody won
Ive been saying since this rilvary cody will be something big im so glad to see im right years later rey the goat for that
That was a great voice impersonation!
Cody’s Rey voice sounds like Sam Roberts
Rey is nicest dude from every person ive heard
A man who's an established veteran giving an up an comer a chance speaks volumes to his character, humility and legacy👑
Impression got me man 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That impression is INSANE
😂😂😂😂
That was the best Rey Mysterio impression I’ve ever heard 💀💀
Cody always reminds me of a GI Joe or something. Just has that All American look. Seems like a solid dude.
Does a mean Rey mysterio
2:24 OOO NVM! I wonder what Vince was doing in his office 😂
That was really cool of Rey
I really want to see this
he is
my fav wrestler
How do all wrestlers make spot on impressions of eachother?
Lol! Never knew Cody did such a good Rey lol 😂
pre neck tattoo
😂
UnDashing Cody Rhodes could have been HUGE
Codys impression of Rey. Holy fuck
Cody does the greatest impression of Rey ever
door had to have been open a little already...mans eye level with the doorknob
met him once.... the top of his head was at nipple height for me
Died just reading the title 😂😂 small ass lmao
Fun fact : This story wasn't really that interesting, but Cody is such a good story teller, so you listen anyway.
I think it's an interesting story.
Not to mention his spot on impression of Rey's voice.
Its actually real cool especially when you got guys like Hogan that decline to work with ppl or put them over because of their ego. Rey on the other hand went outta his way to help some1 lower then him on the totem pole
How can you call someone’s opinion a fact. Weird.
I think it's interesting because it revealed Rey likes the work, but doesn't like to put in the effort -- at least in this instance.
His Rey impression is spot on
My GOAT 🙇♀
His Rey voice sounds like Jay Leno
Cody Rhodes Rey Mysterio impersonation sounds like Bobby Flay
When was the part he kicked his door down?
2:39
He literally did a kicking motion with his foot when telling that part lol
Adrenaline in my soul!
Actually a pretty funny story. Cody is a likable dude ❤
My beautiful boy Dean Malenko name dropped 🤣
Cody’s Rey impression 💀😂😂😂😂
There seems to be a lot of wrestlers whom have kicked Vince's door down.
Cody got that San Diego accent down
why do a fake thumbnail?
Cody’s Rey voice sounds like my valet parking guy 😂
SPOT ON REY LOL
Why does his Rey impression sound like a Mike Tyson impression 😂
😂 Rey Mysterio impersonation 😅
Dean Malenko is an older brother to Rey like they go back like way back
And that was they way of Rey to say in wrestling language: " Son, surprise" literally he wanted to push him to come with the ideas so he can show what he can do like Bro he is Dusty's kid he has to work
The part where Cody opens Vinces door and says 'ooh, nevermind' and closes it again hit differently now. What did he walk in on?
Cody’s Rey impression sounds like Sam Roberts…
Why does Rey sound like a young Marty McFly
codys impression of Rey but he sounds more like himself
WWE doesn't always make smart decisions. They had both Sting and Undertaker on their roster at one point but did they have them work a Main Event Wrestlemania match? Nope and that seemed like a lost opportunity
When I hear this it makes me feel like dusty was the one that gave him a big breat at one point and he wanted to at least help his son.
Dat sounds like Rey too lol
Why did he make Rey sound like Jay Leno?
I Am My Kingdom!
Cody's impression or Rey is like if Mysterio had an American accent 🤭
Rey MystErio 🤣 😆
💀💀💀
Story itself 5/10
Clickbait title 6/10
Impersonation 10/10
he did Rey dirty with his impression
Not really, it sounds exactly like him.
That’s literally how Rey talks lol
I respect Cody been thru a lot but he just doesn’t seem like the next guy like how Brock, Cena, Orton, Batista, Punk were…reminds of Bart Simpson grown up with a twist of dolph lundren
Poor union workers lol
Why would Mysterio kick down Vince's door when he could just enter through the doggy door. 🐶🐶
the doggy door was probably being used by some girl vince was raping.
i dont believe this. everyone has said Rey is a good man. i think hes lying.
A non-blonde Cody? When was this interview?
Probably 2016 or 2017.
Thats a horrible rey mysterio voice impression, rey is the boss he knows he can knock down doors 🚪
And then Vince kicked the doors down of the women he 😅
opened the door with his foot... ill make sure to block this channel good clickbait tho thanks
I’m surprised nobody got offended and called Cody a racist for doing an impression of a Mexican guy 😂
It wasn't a Mexican impression...it was an Rey impression. Impressionisnt do the person's voice, their culture has nothing to do with anything. Also Rey is half Mexican, half American.
@@ItApproaches it’s a joke my guy relax
Rey is an America guy.
@@drewfromyay882 get better at reading sarcasm bro
🌽
I have a hard time respecting someone who who puts their foot on a table.
Of course Rey needs someone to come up ideas. He’s been doing the exact same schtick for decades. Same character, same move set, same boring & dry “promos”, same everything.
I have to say the most cringe worthy thing Ive ever seen in my life is these videos. Having a wrestler do a shoot in front of an audience who clap and laugh along like its a standup special and as if they were there is so odd.
why? It's just telling stories, which is what alot of stand up is.
Ok bud
@@infinite-sadness Its not stand up comedy and its just an obsession we have, we should stay out of it as marks.
@@paperplanez104 well see my reply below bud I have nothng to say to you
@@Mike--Oxmall ok?
Well that was a dumb story. Cody is so overrated.
Cody no offense but it's not cool and it's very disrespectful how you are are trying sound like rey this is why I dont like cody his wrestling moves suck nothing compare to Rey
