Okay, so some people are complaining about the restoration, and are saying it's a bad and ugly one, and the color is completely wrong etc. 29:03 (Final Result) Well, I don't even know why I have to explain this in a pinned comment, but like I already explained in the video, the color is exactly the same as original beaded helmets. Especially at the end of the video, you can see that the color is 100% correct. If you think that's not true, than I know for sure that you've never ever held an original one in your hand. I own original Luftschutz helmets myself, and have seen many different ones in my life, and I can say that this is all correct. I'm someone that will even notice the smallest mistake, and there are none. Also, some people are saying the helmet should be black.. do more RESEARCH! Another complaint.. Why I ruined a nice original helmet, and painted over the original paint? Listen, like I said in the video, the paint was badly damaged, and keeping it like this was not the best option. It would not fit in a display with the ugly scratches, so I decided to restore it. These helmets are not rare with original paint, actually, it's more rare to find them without original paint! There are a LOT of these helmets around with original paint, it didn't hurt the value. If this was a regular combat helmet, I would not have done it, but this was the right decision for this helmet. Stop complaining, I know what I'm doing, do more research. I bought my m35 double-decal beaded "polizei" stahlhelm from an antique shop about 5 months ago, and I've been searching EVERYWHERE to get a solid answer on what makes a beaded helmet less sought-after. The antique salesman said his seller was an old ww2 vet who picked it up in Berlin during the american occupation, and brought it back home. The metal work screams quality, so it was confusing to me when the interwebs was stating beaded helmets were the defects. Since nobody knows the real answer, I'm going to agree with you that the beaded helmets are to simply designate what's for civic duty, and which is for the military. I'd love to come across a non-beaded m-35 just to compare the two. Thank you for making this video! I'm glad you appreciate stahlhelms and the history behind them!
