But the final game of that match was what surprised me much more - three unforced errors on routine shots for Djokovic to drop serve and lose the match was what really struck me - especially after the rest of that match. Crazy. And I am a Rafa fan as well so I hear you on the adding 1 to Rafa's slams originally too but then - oh yes - this just FEELS like the final lol!!
The most gracious loser in Tennis. I’ve always respected him for that as much as his achievements
Wild that three out of his first four, four out of his first six happened at the us open and over half of his GS finals lost period

Didn't realize that both Murray and Wawrinka had their 2 GS against Djokovic.
They both won 3 each actually. Wawrinka's other was vs Nadal & Murray's other was vs Roanic
Nadal and fed are the worst in when it comes to congratulating the opponent when it comes to loosing... They don't even look into opponent's eye or they don't even try to hug their opponent.... Murray nole and even wawrinka are so humble even when they loose.
Agree Djoko is a gracious loser, but the only time I think he wasn't was in this year's French Open loss to Nadal. It was the briefest of handshakes, and he didn't look Nadal in the face. Other than that one lapse I've seen, he is usually a warm and congratulatory good loser. I also remember Lleyton Hewitt being the same.
I just hope he somehow manages to maintain his finals winning rate above 64.5% (it's where it is now after his most recent loss in Wimbledon final...), at least to stay above Federer as he is already trailing Borg...
Every time when he lost, he goes to the opponent and congrate him, and they tell us Novak is nervus
so? all tennis players do that
Every time he loses an important point,he breaks the racquet! Is it gracious? Rafa never does it! That’s gracious!
wow didn't realise how many US open finals he's been in, he is usually great on hard court. is the US surface much different to AO?
Yeah, it's weird. 8-0 in AO but only 3-6 at USO I think. The US courts have slowed down a lot in the last few years but if anything, he likes the slower courts. I guess freshness or lack thereof plays a part, which might explain why the first three slams have been won solely by the Big 3 in the last five years whereas USO has had a different champion each year in that time, with none of the aforementioned trio reigning supreme in the last three years.
@@guillezorro actually 9-0 in AO
Most lost to Nadal!
Ngl he was always the villain for me growing up as a fed fan but in the past 4-5 years I’ve really grown to like him now that they’ve all been cemented as top 3 greats
sem. the media jus painted a really bad picture of him. he is one of the goats, and the most versatile player of all time. but my fav will be fed n stan

@@chamindujanith6337 Novak won 3 and lost 6 USO finals.
Unfortunately ever since this was posted he suffered three more of these, one to Medvedev at the USO which ruined his Calendar Slam dreams, and two more at the Wimbledon back-to-back years to the same young mega talented prodigy - Alcaraz! Yup...he is piling 'em up still as of lately, thankfully he keeps winning grand slam finals at much higher rate than losing them even these days, but it still sucks it happens, because it kinda ruins his finals conversion rate even further despite holding the slam record now...
Really he had chances for 10 more slams ? That impressive record. He had a smiling face even he lost
2012 French open must have been painful. Double fault on championship point, and Nadal only had one break point.
I always thought Novak has always been gracious in defeat.
Novak's fingertips are permanently etched into French Open runners up trophy

Nadal beat him in so many grand slam finals
Federer and Nadal were not good enough to reach 30+ majors finals .

2 Murray (1 US Open - 1 SW19)
2 Wawrinka (1 RG - 1 US Open)
1 Federer (1 US Open)
1 Medvedev (1 US Open)
I mean he lost SEVEN US Open finals... that must hurt so much even for the GOAT.

Could have lost 2 more, Federer on 02 occasions failed to convert 2 Championship Points, that too on his owner serve... Nevertheless credit to Nole for holding his nerves when needed the most...

Where is the US Open final against Medvedev ?

The fact that Novak did the same trash double fault against Nadal twice 😂 and in 2014 blames the crowd, what a jerk
Shut up. novak was disappointed to see everyone cheer on his mistake.
Think they were calling out numerous times during his service motion.
I guess you haven't watched the match. That was a pathetic crowd who were constantly calling out while Novak was about to serve.
Talking without even watching the match make you the jerk lol
Add that to disqualification in US Open and AO in 2021 and 2022 which he would’ve won easily. He has 21 grandslams already and if even half of the finals results went his way he would be at 28. He is a monster.
absolutely agree, Covid vaccination status has stolen some slams from him plus the disqualification at the US open against Carreno-Busta
If if if does not exist
lol pretty silly to say "if he won those slam finals".. well he didnt, and federer didn't win the 11 slam finals he lost either, otherwise he'd be at 31 slams
IF Nadal was not injured because of his comparatively inflexible body, he would have had 30 plus.
IF I had just 2 wings on me, I could have flown around like a bird.
IF my ex girlfriend didn't elope with another another guy she would still be with me.
You have no way of knowing if he would have won AO, maybe he once again loses to Medvedev like he did in New York.
There is not any single reason to dislike him , he has most number of grand slams, his record against Federer Nadal, He is more humble than Federer Nadal in loss or Win
But it's sad to see people boo him on the court

its like it becomes 2005 when Nadal plays in the French Open. More than unbelievable at this point.
Rafa legend 🎉
my prediction is that djokovic will win the Australian open 1 more time and Nadal will win Roland Garros one more time
Djokovic can effortlessly win Wimbledon some more times, considering the level of next gen on the grass
with the fact that he was deported from Australia this year, he will probably get a 3 year travel ban, at least he should according to their law. So that would be most likely his chances for AO gone then.
Donno about Nadal. I thought the same about his FO titles in like 2014. But he keeps finding ways to win that one and unbelievable that he still won in 2022. Could be another 3-4. who knows.
Nadal would be sitting at 15 RG titles. I feel like his number of French Open titles has kinda reached a point where it’s too absurd to even be surprised at. It’s like hearing how many cells there are in the universe. You can’t really wrap your head around the number

And Djoko realistically could have 5 titles (he had a great chance this year but couldn’t play and let’s not forget what happened in 2020). Nadal has 1 more USO title but a lower average level there. @@bigbywolf5031 Nah he’d probably be the RG 2016 favorite, USO 2014, 2012, Wimbledon 2009. The rest he’d be among the top 3 favorites. And that’s not counting the ones where he had to retire with injuries like AO 2010, 2018, USO 2018, Wimbledon 2022, AO 2014, all of which are slams he had a decent shot at winning and was likely a top 2 favorite.
Saying that he wouldn’t be favored is laughable. He’s won 22 grand slams yet according to you he’s probably not the favorite anywhere. Doesn’t change the fact that he wins.
