Thanks for this video! I just came across it because I actually lost one of the screws from my screen. So I've been trying to find a replacement screw. But I'm definitely going to be using this so it never happens again!
no problem glad i can help it is very frustrating when the screen loosens up rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F152978016497
Now I never had a problem with my G7X Mark II, but that course I sent it back because I did not like the autofocus noise I was getting from it while filming with autofocus on. But this is definitely a nice fix and should help a number of people who have had this issue. Thanks for sharing brother.
yeah i do remember your g7x comparison video it does have some focus issues very slow compared to our sony but overall love it for the picture and size
Thank you so much for sharing my screen is barely recently starting to come lose. I need to go and get there items fast so that I do not damage my camera
Omg thank you so much I actually thought there was something wrong with my camera as the picture would go upside down. I believe that this is the issue thanks for the tips.
OMG!! Thanks so much for this video. this just happened to us and ive been freaking out. i called a local camera shop and they told me 10 days just to diagnose it even though i told them the problem. Now all i have to do is get a new screw! Thanks again!! Happy Holidays!
I have went around Amsterdam to get a replacement screw, soon after the screen started to shake again. I was becoming desperate found your video and just ordered both the Loctite threadlocker blue 242 and a glasses repair kit from Amazon! Thank you!
No problem, i know alot of people are having this problem sad to see for such an expensive camera to fall apart so fast youll be happy with the results!! good luck
i know this video is old but hopefully you see this. I just got this camera in june and the screen won’t completely close. is that due to loose screws??? I see them, maybe they just need to be tightened????
Yes but you got to use the loctite with them to prevent them from falling out one they get loose the hole loosens up to and even new screws won’t stay tight. The loctite will keep it from backing out and still let you take them out in the future without damaging anything
Could I just use the loctite blue 242? Or does it have to say nut and bolt.? I couldn’t find it in store. Thank you so much btw! This just happened to me and I was worried about taking my camera in
I need two screws. I have one missing in the view finders area, and another one on the bottom of the camera. I literally just bought one screw a few min. ago, just so the view finder can be secured.
I called Canon a couple of days ago. They don't sell screws. They only gave me two options: 1) exchange my camera for another G7X Mark II for $259 or 2) upgrade to a newer camera. I ended up getting one of the screws from the bottom of the camera and using that to fasten the screen.
I bought a pack of 500 screws off ebay for around £3.60 and they come under pc micro screws etc, Had some ages ago but lost them when I moved house. M1,2 x 3 size on the one I measured for my GX7/2 and some sellers charging $14 and $12 postage for two. The screws come in handy for lots of other things in small goods and I await them now and they are the same as Canon use.
hey guys if you lost your screws there are some available here:

Loctite
Lol wrote it before you showed the loctite
My problem though is the rivet above the screws broke when my mom dropped it. I was actually thinking of super glue it. Any better ideas
I think they make an epoxy for metal that might hold it
Thank YOU!
