Thanks Jason! I had never thought of ice cream in the coffee mugs before - but why not? 😀. Hope you had a great summer with the family! The camping videos were lots of fun!
I've bought two of them, first one at REI for $20. The next week they had them on sale for $15, since I'm a member they reimbursed me $5 for the first set. I like the cups, they hold 1 ounce more and don't keep my coffee too hot for so long like the SS insulated mugs. For long trips in the car I'll use SS but around the house, these little cups are perfect for me. Great info.
@@diddybushcraftnoutdoors8072 Thanks so much for your note!!!! I really appreciate the information. Great info about the heat vs size difference. I will definitely check out your channel too! Great info on REI refunds- I am a member also and will check that out Thank you!
What an informative and well-made video. I had already planned to buy the new Wildfare cook set as well as the stay-hot stacking cups, but knowing they will nest together really seals the deal.
@@hapcampbell Thanks so much!!! They are really great cups and I absolutely love them and the plastic ones too. Thanks so much for your wonderful comment! Katy
Such a great review! Very comprehensive! I have purchased half dozen or so over the years for various kits then Stanley does it again. Just the small changes in the Wildfare really upped their game.
Appreciate you doing all of this testing and sharing the results - it makes the decision a lot easier for someone like me! Considering the entire cook sets already come with the two cups each for about the same price as a single Stay Hot Cup, and the relatively small difference in times and temps - as your testing showed, for hot material its more important to have a lid (and you can make a fairly efficient lid with some aluminum foil) - it certainly wouldn't be worth it for me to spend the money on the Stay Hot Cup. Nothing I put into any of the cups is going to last for an hour - and ESPECIALLY not ice cream!
@@Badger77722 Hi ! Thanks for your note! It’s amazing how much difference a lid makes. Just like our parents always told us when they were after us to wear a hat when we went outside in the cold. The cook set is amazing! I use ours everyday - both at home and when camping…. Thanks so very much! Katy
@@Carlcarterjr Thanks so much! I will get some of those!!!! I have a couple of the Adventure Series Cook sets that I use often - love these cups!!! Thank you! Katy
Thank you for this Great review. Have now subscribed. I love the Hot Cups though they are kinda pricey. Yet I just ordered 4 more and even gave 1 to a friend. It was hard to do. Have a couple of the Admiral mugs, like them best for cold drinks as rarely drink that much hot. Have several of the 2 cup Adventure Sets. I keep 1 in each vehicle along with some type of small propane or butane burner. Include couple sleeves of coffee & maybe couple snack bars. Great to be in a park & make cups of coffee. Daytime camping
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment!!!! I love the Stanley sets! I have several also - for purposes like you recommend. I wish the cups weren’t so pricey The ice cream popped in my head because they are kinda the shape of an ice cream cone. I envision several types of ice cream sundaes ahead - my favorite is strawberry with pineapple topping, a bit more of hot fudge and some nuts! I have some other potential new and unique hacks that I have thought of. If they work out, then I will make a video. I really appreciate that you subscribed! ❤️ Thank you! Katy
Love the stanley cooksets, own both yet prefer the original because the stainless is better quality more heavy duty and the lid fits more snug. The newer one inevitable rattles which I find annoying if I don’t secure it somehow. Did not know about the stanley insulated cup and will give it a go. If you want to carry a pint of ice cream google the wide mouth half gallon ozrk trails insulated stainless steel water jug. It will keep the entire pint frozen for hours! Also if you want to turn one plastic cup into 2 to save space for something like a stove to be stored in your cookset you can saw off the very top of the cup which turns it into 2 cups.
@@kennethwilson8633 Hi Kenneth! The newer Wildfare Go says it is microwave safe on the bottom- that is the lighter green cup that comes with the new Wildfare Go Two cup cookset. The older dark green cup from the Adventure series has no markings on it. I checked the packaging too and it says nothing on it about being microwave safe (I wish it did!) Thanks for your great question! FYI, in case you have a portable induction burner, the Adventure series Two cup cook set works on that. On the video released just before this one, I tested that and showed my testing results. Thanks! Katy 😊
Great video, informative and useful

Silipint silicone lids (for their 16 oz cups) work for the "legacy" Stanley Adventure cups.
