- Welcome to Addicted to Watches. Today we’re looking at a watch that comes from a brand that for some is a bit controversial. That brand is Glycine and this watch in particular comes from the period of time for the brand when the events that resulted in this occurred. The watch itself is not controversial however and more or less is unanimously liked. This is the Glycine Combat Sub GL0093, also known as the Goldeneye.

I’ve had my Glycine Combat Sub 39 for two years now. It’s the first watch I reviewed, garnering more views and praise than anticipated. I love mine. Metal movement holder. Regulated by Glycine inhouse in three positions, it’s accurate to +2 daily.
Today, I put a quality Rolex glidelock bracelet and clasp on it, and with its full taper and glicklock tool-free adjust clasp, it is more comfortable. The only thing it lacks is better lume. The lume on the markers are poor to average, whereas the hands and pip are good. Dissatisfied with that, but doesn’t detract from the overall quality and look of the watch.
I have watches costing thousands more, yet I am keeping the C.S 39. Love the dial, big crown, and case.
I own 8 Glycine watches and have nothing negative to say about any of them. I work on the ocean and put my combat subs through hell, and they take all the punishment I can throw at them. Best value for money I've encountered in the watch industry.
That's a solid collection of glycine watches! There are definitely some real bargains from the brand if you dig around
I have a Combat Sub GMT GL0317, and I am not too impressed with it. So far, it's running fast. in 4 days, it's picked up 1 min and 7 seconds.
My watch has the Sileta SW300 automatic movement in it. I am not sure why it's running fast. I take off at night and wear it during the day. I would not purchase another one.
Sounds like an issue with the movement. Is it under warranty?
Yes I believe so.
quality review! subbed!
Thank you!
2:30 : smallest Combat Subs currently are 36mm, not 39mm. Besides, 48mm versions were introduced long before Invicta bought Glycine, so ni Invicta meddling either here.
Good to know. Thanks for the info!
Thanks for this review! Love the combat sub line - wish they would make them in more 39mm versions, and a 39mm GMT version as well. Sorry if I missed it but what is your wrist size? Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it. A 39mm would be awesome. My wrist is 7inches/18cm
Thanks! @@addicted_to_watches
