Glycine makes fantastic watches, and for the money they were selling for after Invicta took over, they are an absolute steal. I have the GMT Pepsi Swiss quartz that I got for $189 back in February from Jomashop. Insane watch for the money.
This is probably the best rundown/review of the 39mm on RUclips. Out of all the watches out there, this 39mm is the most overlooked by RUclipsrs. Thank you for this, about to buy my own as a first watch purchase.
Great review, I have the combat vintage, amazing watch. Been chasing these 39mm. looks like Glycine Europe is restocking them. Recently I got a pre Invicta Glycine combat 7, also great.
Ah, someone else who has more than one expensive hobby! Love my watches (though tend to wear a Garmin more than anything else these days) and radios. Add in 4WD’s, guns and knives, and my wife just rolls her eyes when I go shopping. 🤣
Very informative! I'm looking at the 39 to replace my Mako II when it finally dies. I wish they had a white dial option though. That would be sharp looking.
Hi! Thanks for a good review/comparison. How does the patina on the indecies look live. About to pull the trigger on the 39mm green bezel one, but the patina looks very yellow on some pictures.
@@mikkojarvinen3385 That's a great question. The lume on both of those watches is kind of a faux patina, which some people hate, but works on this style of diver that has a more retro feel. The 39mm is definitely more yellow than the 42mm, but not obnoxiously so.
Is the lume on the markers the same brightness as the hands and bezel pip on the 39? I have one from 2022 and the lume on the markers isn’t great. Curious if they fixed that issue
I’ve had my Glycine Combat Sub 39 for a while now, and it’s an amazing watch. I put mine on a Rolex Glidelock clasp.

Yeah, it really is kind of nuts what they're selling for now compared to the pre-Invicta days. The Quartz watches are awesome for the price.

It's an excellent watch! You won't regret it.
@@EvanK2EJT ordered the 39 with the blue bezel for $510 total. Very excited!
@@SpookyGhost61 Sweet! You'll love it.
Evan,Thanks for sharing your watch interest.

Glycine is great value for money. Can't go wrong. Thanks for watching!

I have the same list of expensive hobbies! Go figure 😂
We must have been separated at birth
I have several nice watches but my Garmin has become the daily wear.

Definitely! A white dial would be fantastic!

Good to know. Thanks for replying 👍
Glycine is a solid underrated brand; however they suffer greatly from poor marketing and lack of creativity.
That is true for sure.
the combat sub 39 looks bigger for a 39 mm. do you feel the same on the wrist?
It feels about like a 39mm watch to me. The lug to lug is short as well, so that helps.
@@EvanK2EJT Thanks

No, the markers are dimmer than the hands and pip. It's not as bad as my 42mm, but it's definitely not great.
I have a 42mm one and all is perfect. I bought it at Costco for $237.99
Yeah, the Costco deal for the 42mm was an absolutely amazing deal. Great watch for a fantastic price!
Would that be for an auto movement? Thanks.
@ yes, a Sellita SW200-1. I have not seen anymore at the stores, but look in your local Costco, you might get lucky.
@@EvanK2EJTis it still around?
@@TopStrikerMaverick Is what still around? My watch, or the Costco deal?
More watch videos please! 73
I can definitely do that!
Most Invicta's I have seen and the one I own have the same problem, the bezel is never perfectly aligned.
The one on my pre-Invicta Glycine wasn't aligned either, so there's that LOL. The 39mm is dead nuts though
The 39 has better proportions
Agreed
36mm > 39mm > 42mm
36 is a little too small for me personally, but they're definitely nice
Get out the fountain pens!
