How is the first one powered? It is just a regular USB Hub, it gets its power from the host. That is NOT how we define powered usb hubs - they need external power supply, so it can power the USB devices without draining the host.
This video is an unprofessional mess. The voiceover refers to the first one as a "powered USB hub" 5 times. It is obviously not powered. The voiceover says it has 18 months warranty while on screen it says 2 years warranty. Facts apparently don't matter to whoever made this.
I have three USB hubs. One of them DC powered. They're good for reading small flash drives, smartphones, and tablets but can't detect 4tb external hard drives.
Already #5 is not "powered", this isn't semantics either. Powered USB Hubs receive their power from an outlet not from the bus, in short while these can provide power it's passing through from the 900ma that's already on the bus, and not providing their own. Why would you want a powered hub as opposed to not? Devices requiring a high power draw like an external hdd/ssd or something like the streamdeck will use up that bus's (
The problem I always have with USB hubs is there is never enough room "between" the ports to fit flash drives next to each other. Can all these hubs accommodate flash drives in every port simultaneously?
@@Pechko Or just get ones where the slots are parallel instead of aligned next to each other. I think most are designed that way now anyway, so shouldn't be a problem. 😉
The first hub is not powered. The third hub is not powered. all the hubs can only deliver 5 volts. No usb hubs dupport ethernet. The 4th hub is can still receive 5gigs at the input and send 5/11 gigs (around 40 mbps). all hubs are hot swappable. this video is a mess.
Dear Sir,Thanks for the great guidance . Sir,I have 2 Questions : 1. If I Use Samsung Galaxy 45 Watts Charger to give external power on 100 Watts USB Hub, will it work smoothly, and with out any problem ? 2. If external power is needed for USB Hub,which is unpowered , Can I give Charge to it ,with my Mobile /Tablet charger itself,to which that hub is connected ? Thanks for expected reply
The transfer rates are 5 Gigabit/sec. Not 5 Gigabytes. Also, they do not weigh pounds, they weigh ounces. I will never carry anything that weighs 13 pounds with my laptop that weighs less than 5!!!!
Can I use it with the iPad 9th gen through lightning to USB and then connect the usb hub to it and by externally supplying power for my power hungry External HDD??
I've had the Atolla for like 3 years. It's served me well in that time, a few ports stopped working but overall it was good. It broke today, i'm looking for a replacement
@@MrCidVicious you're always taking a gamble with chinese made stuff but for the price and how much it was used during that period, worth enough for me.
i bought the Powered USB Hub, Wenter 11-Port USB Splitter Hub am i guessing this is not for u to plug in ur portable cd/dvd player? cause when i tried nothing showed up on my pc screen.
I have an Unihertz Jelly 2E phone (Android 12), a 5 year old HDTV (not a Smart TV), an old USB mouse (I dont if it is USB 2.0 or 3.0) and a Sandisk Cruzer Glide 16 GB USB flash drive (bought in Nov. 2016 and I dont know if it is USB 2.0 or 3.0). I need to mirror the phone to the TV so I can have a bigger screen and dont have to look at the small phone screen all the time. The TV has an HDMI port. I need to connect the mouse to the phone so I can look, tap and swipe on the TV instead of looking, tapping and swiping at the small phone screen. I need to connect the flash drive to the phone so I can access the files. Can someone recommend 1 adapter hub or something that is available at Walmart or Amazon that can handle these all at the same time (instead of buying 2 or more separate adapters or hubs). Thanks.
Thanks for sharing this video! I found it really informative and helpful in understanding the top powered USB hubs available. The Anker Series 5 and RSHTECH 516 seem like solid options with their durability and individual port controls. I'm leaning towards the Anker Series 5 for its compatibility and heat-resistant connector. However, I have a question about its power output. Can you provide more details on the power output of the Anker Series 5? It would help me make a more informed decision. Thanks!
Anker and Sabrent should be OK. The rest is probably meh as far as quality and reliability. USB 3.0 speeds for all hubs is meh again. I purchased Dyconn 3.0 hub many years ago and it is built like a rock.
From now on when the uploader or video mentions or hints to like or subscribe... it's gonna get a dislike instead. the more you ask or say to like and subscribe, the more I'm not gonna do it. This youtube trend is overused and obnoxious.

They also think being backward compatible with usb 2 is a hub feature, and not a usb feature.
This video is full of technical errors, the authors clearly don't have a clear understanding of technology, and shouldn't be making advice videos.
@@PhilipVeale I like how they chose lbs as the unit of weight for it lol
Thats what I thought!🤷♂️🤦🏻♂️
It also is surely not 5GBytes per second ...

The second problem is about the driver heating up too much
I think you just need extender dongle adapters to give each drive breathing room. Might not look super pretty- but should help your situation work.

I think these types of videos are mostly automatically generated and uploaded with very little human intervention..
How can you call the Anker powered. There is no power cable to it at all.

just ordered a Atolla, great reviews thank you

Thank you;) I thought that was heavy for a hub.
Yea, you'd think a channel talking about tech, would get that right. Maybe the laptop weighs 5 tonnes by comparison?
Is it advantageous to get a USB bus with individual power for each output?
I like this videos where person didn't even test this devices but just find some images from internet
Some of those are compatible with web cams Logitech?😢
Thumb down for 5GB per second transfer rate of Anker and Sabrent hubs. You should know the difference between GB/s and Gbps.

If we connect 10 hdds in Atolla, will computer detect all 10 hdds ?

so then its not that good lol

If the ports stop working then it HASN'T served you well. These things should work forever.

What planet are you guys on? The Apange weighs 388 grams, that's no where near 13.7lbs...
modern USB port have 10,20, and 40gbps so I am not impressed by hub limited to 5gbps.
Don't be fooled folks. These are all shit tier hubs that you'll only end up returning or trashing.
