That's really cool. Reminds me of the gourmet Sandwich grills we used at Panera Bread when I worked there. They had (super expensive) giant presses that had a built in microwave to simultaneously warm the inside extra quickly.

The cost of electrical or gas power is ridiculous in the uk today so i will look out for one of these. Your reviews are always well considered and well appreciated. Amazon was carrying a Westinghouse model similar, for $27.99. I just bought the next to last one. Hoping my son will expand his cooking skills, as right now his only sandwich repertoire is peanut butter. It is limited to an 800 watt micro, and ours is 1000, but I figure it can be set on 80% power and should work. If not, I have lost more for less potential benefit.

My favourite sandwiches that mum would make for me when I was a schoolkid...back in the old days... Curried egg Egg and lettuce Vegemite and cheese Ham, cheese and tomato but only in Winter because in summer the ham would go off too quick. It would last until little lunch though.

For reference in Australia kids start high school at age 12. I think it’s different in the states?
