Cottonwood trees are also known as Samoyed Shedding season trees, they are actually not, but they make wherever they stand look like your house during Samoyed Shedding season, when they are on season to drop down their fluffy seeds. Fun fact, both Comed out Samoyed fur and Cottonwood floof are used to make blankets. You can collect a good amount of your samoyeds fur when you are grooming them, then let someone make wool outta it and knit a blankie(these are keeping your ass warm during the coldest winters fr) and with cottonwood seed fluffies you can fill blankets, it's like a vegan alternative to Alpaka or sheep wool or like chicken feathers or camel wool.
It’s not super hard to get into, especially if you have enough room for a lathe! Even if you don’t, you can always find a place outdoors, and start workin away with a pocketknife on a cool stick you found. There’s a ton of different avenues for woodworking, from using a hammer and chisel to a lathe and a... turning chisel? Not sure what they’re called, but I really do suggest at least trying out working with wood
You’re fun and I love how you take my mind off of all the nonsense going on today… if any for a few minutes. Thank you! Quality entertainment and craftsmanship!
I did not know that that was a female cottonwood!!! That's super neat, dude. I'm so glad this channel found me and can help me nerd out about trees. Thank you 😊
i am a newer viewer of your content but i love it. my stepdad is super into woodwork, so i feel like i am now understanding his hobby more. plus it's good content lol. thanks for inadvertently strengthening family relationships!
Unfortunately, in my town park, we has two enormous cottonwood trees and this winter, the county cut them down. This is because cottonwoods, when they get old, they are hollow. In Winter, it causes them to get brittle, snap the huge branches, and cause property damage, and maybe death and injury. I was still really sad when they cut down the town’s favorite, sun shading trees ;-;
Fun fact: people who have seasonal allergies can be allergic to different pollens from different trees or grass. Since they all have different times they're most pollen-ous, people can be allergic at different times. They can also have cross-reactivity with fruits! But only when they're raw😂
Hi Justin I love your work, I was wondering how to care for wooden utensils? Won’t food bits get into the wood and eventually mould? How do u wash them so they don’t get damaged or soak up dirty water over time?
I’ll never forget the first time I discovered I was allergic to cottonwood trees. It was a beautiful spring day and I was on a class field trip. We decided to have lunch in a grove of these special trees, and while my friends were busy catching the drifting fluff and sticking it in their mouths, I was stuck on a hot bus desperately trying to find some Benadryl while a teacher stared me down. Good times.
I made a cutting board with cherry and walnut in class and once it was done I automatically looked at it saw the chatoyancy and said “dame that’s some nice ✨c h a t o y a n c y✨”. I confused everyone in that class including that teacher😂
Not too long ago I went to a buck-ees for the first time. Saw some cool wooden stuff, forgotten what it was cause my memory is not good. All I remember is glancing at my mom, before glancing back at it, before touching it and saying ✨c h a t o y a n c y✨
How does he sound like he’s joking but sound so serious at the same?? 😂😂

yee
So... What exactly is chatoyancy?
i NEED a house tour. bet your tv is made of wood
The old ones were basically wood boxes filled with electronics.
And powered by potatoes

His TV is powered by ✨ Chatoyancy ✨
How are you so put together, yet so feral at the same time??
Men in a nutshell.
Possible neurodivergence. I dunno tho.
Natural Talent? It is fascinating.
I see you are using the bowl to its fullest potential
How does this man store all his uniquely shaped bowls
He puts them all into each other,
Infinite bowls…..
In his uniquely shaped cabinet
Ive been wondering the same thing. He probably sells some and keeps only his favorite
He made a big bowl to keep the other bowls in. You can find the video.
Into his dimentional pouch.
To sell when he goes back to the future.
I mean... How do you think Doraemon could afford all those gadgets?
Looks great, people don’t appreciate the art of woodworking nearly as much as they should!
Get a load of this guy. He doesn’t organize his M&Ms by color before eating them. What a maroon.
Yes a maroon😅
💀
@@DumToDeath the joke went right over your head.
Ah yes, a maroon 😂 He is the definition of a particular color lol
@@reneelarson4056I am an extra maroon maroon

YOUNG MAN, YOU GET DOWN ON THE FLOOR AND PICK UP EVERY SINGLE PEANUT M&M YOU DROPPED.
You can eat them if you remove the shell

Good to know I can actually use cottonwood for something. I honestly didn’t know if it was good for projects or not. Thanks!
How many spilled m&m's do you want?
Justin: yes
Well, now with small...little small wood bowls, you'll...you'll always have a safe place to keep all your items, so they're safe and not lost.
This is soooo cool. I’m actually doing research on trees this semester, super excited about it
It’s gorgeous!

i love me some table m&ms 😁
I sincerely appreciate your sacrifice of pouring your m&m’s out like that for our entertainment.
I still think loose on the table works better. Pretty bowl though!
Underrated lmao
Every video I watch of this man makes me want to pick up wood working as a hobby.
I like the way you zealously much on peanut M&Ms. Good work!
the wood is so pretty 0-0
This is the official tree of my hometown I love them so much they’re super big and comforting 😭😭

That’s a nice bowl, I bet it holds those M&Ms almost as well as the resealable container they come in!
most efficient way to eat m&ms 😂
The way you poured your M&Ms at the end was delightfully hingeless behavior, I love how much fun you have in your videos

Love the wood design
bro ate 3 M&Ms, and the rest fell on the floor *lol*
Beautiful work as always, and glorious final shot dumping candy on your face
I'm relieved he used the bowl properly 😌
That last scene must have been a chore to clean up afterward
Easily some of the nicest wood turning ive seen on utube to date. Great attention to detail, awesome work man.
I always get so excited to hear 💫chatoyancy💫
Could you do a video on how you finish your turned projects to a nice polish like this one
I hope everything is well at your end. No video since 4 days. Looking handsome.
never thought a woodworking channel would teach me my new favorite word :)
I love the old cottonwood. Turns pretty well, soft and smelly, but pretty
Oh my god that's what those are!! I love them so much. Walking home through their fluff was always so enchanting
Fanflippentastic! Beautiful bowl and a great piece of education. Well done, sir. I now resonate with chatoyancy. Thank you.

Love the part where he lets wood shaving fly on his hand. I would not let any of that stuff touch my skin.
Some good painting and that would look amazing
Great woodworking skills, man
The first thing I thought of when you poured m&Ms in your mouth was Arin going "MORE!"
My husband built our kitchen cabinets out of cotton wood. Its such a beautiful wood
