okay so you definitely deliver all the tree-based content we're here for, but man that scrub jay with its moment of introspection really stole the spotlight this time. (post-video edit: but is this your most fun project yet? heck yea. and I'm sure mr birb would agree. way to honour the old farm!)

And while I will ALWAYS watch sponsors and not skip through it so they can get their money they need, since im not able to financially support anyone...Sometimes its nice to see someone doing something out of pure passion that they do for a hobby instead of monetizing it

This video reinforces the melancholy I sometimes feel when looking at trees. Every piece of wood in the pile is unique and will be turned into a beautiful piece of art but every day, millions upon millions of equally unique trees are chopped into framing lumber, ground into mulch, burned for heat and used for countless other tasks or even just slowly rotting away in the depths of a forest with no regard for the completely unique beauty that is being consumed. I wonder how many breathtaking patterns I have mindlessly tossed into the campfire?
I'm not saying that those uses are bad or that we should stop using wood in industry, even as I write this comment, I'm using a particle board desk, surrounded by walls with wooden studs, the door is painted wood veneer and I have a stack of books decorating a factory made wooden chest of drawers; the world relies on abundant wood products and that it perfectly fine. Every now and then I just feel a twinge of sadness that for every stunning juniper bowl that Justin shapes, countless other logs are stuck being fence posts, the beauty they hold doomed to never to be seen.
