I have been watching Laid Back Living for a long time, so I've seen your progress and struggles. When I heard that Homestead Rescue had come to call, I was really bummed that I don't receive the channel that Homestead Rescue shows on. I tried multiple searches as I really wanted to see what they had done, but to no avail. All of that said, I was very happy that you showcased the improvements the Raney's made with this video! I used to watch HR regularly, and as usual their workmanship and quick turn-around did not disappoint. All looks great, and can't wait to see your continued progress. Congratulations!!
I think the really cool part of needing to keep all that secret is that y’all finished a lot of inside work, that bathroom looks amazing, and still kept posting videos. Love y’all’s channel and I’m looking forward to watching both your channel and homestead grow!

I feel like I've seen some of this before... and I am so glad you got the retaining wall/drainage problem sorted out. That bench is really cool... but it doesn't look like it is all that easy to get to it, especially with a cup of coffee in your hands. It looks like you can't easily pass behind the shop/house... but maybe I'm not seeing it fully. Anyway... I love what you are doing. The whole Idea of having a sizeable place to work or a shop... and then building a living space inside that space - it's just the perfect way to give yourself a good foundation from which to build. Thanks for sharing this with us...

Battery powered sun fed drip system for garden beds? Well slanted roof will keep snow load off of that green box. Put the tubing in pvc so equipment will NOT destroy it?

The show never has enough time to truly show the finished projects and go through in-depth as to what and how it was done. My one concern is the posts and timbers that are in use that the bark got left on. Won't that actually contribute to their deteriorating and rot beginning in them quicker by allowing a place for bugs and beetles to get in, nest and eat?

Marigolds around tomatoes, corn & most other veggies is a Gr8 trick to repel insects. Rosemary too. Don't forget to plant thyme at one end of Ur garden 😊 Sunflowers extract chemicals, heavy metals, cadmium, petroleum, vehicle emissions, zinc, copper, lead & a bunch of other toxins from the earth. Research those lovely Sunflowers🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

Clean up the sawmill sawdust and get it onto your compost pile. You'll need the sawdust to balance your poultry manure.
