  • Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women around the globe, making it an incredibly common condition - however, most people are unaware of it. We're closing out #EndometriosisAwarenessMonth here at PatientsLikeMe with an interview featuring Dr. Andrea Vidali, a world-renowned reproductive endocrinologist and endometriosis surgeon.
In this video, Dr. Vidali speaks to our Director of Marketing about endometriosis and what people should know: including symptoms of the disease, treatment options, overall management, and how important the patient voice is when it comes to taking control of your health.

I am curious about the mention of nutritional and physical therapy follow up. Is there a resource where addressing the nutritional elements is published? After my diagnosis and combo excision with fulgaration, I am trying to heal before any next surgical steps are taken. Endo stage 2&3 and adenomyosis along with extensive adhesions of fibrous tissue were found and removed to the extent my local gynocological surgeon felt she could... But the hysterectomy has not been done yet. I am 44 and do not plan on having kids, but would prefer not to have a full removal of my ovaries if possible to prevent early menopause.... So I am mostly wondering what I can be doing in the meantime to see if a holistic dietary approach can get me to the point where I can wean off of the birth control I have been on for over 34 years, the last 3 have been nonstop (so no period week) because of the progression of my pain and inability to function at points throughout the month when the hormones would just be raging and the pain unbearable. Thank you for this video and helping to provide resources.
