Well…this has been my go to lens, and my street photography works has been 95% shot with it… Never had any issues, the quality and sharpness are on point!
I have this lens and I have no idea what's up with your photos. The lens is extremely tack sharp even when shooting wide open at F1.8. The only issue with shooting at F1.8 is that the images lacks contrast. I have to stop it down to F2.8 or so to get really good contrast.
10/10 recommend the Sony 85 f/1.8 instead. It’s native glass, it’s super sharp and it has a custom button on the side. Also, if you’re a student, Adorma gives a great discount. Picked mine up for about $600 brand new.
No you cannot zoom with this lens. It’s a “prime” lens, which means that it has one focal length. This is 85mm. If you are looking for a zoom, then you are wanting to look at something like the sigma 24-70mm or something with that kind of identification. With the aperture of 1.8, the focal length of 85mm, and it being full frame you will have no issues getting a blurred background.
@@mihgio3235 no, The image out put does not appeal to me. I have looked at different image samples. This lens is just not my cup of tea. I renders edges of subjetcs horrobly in my opinion.

mark1 or mark 2 ? if i may ask
Need something easy to handle. TTArtisan's 75mm f2 being smaller might be just what I need. Any comparisons?
I just got this for my Z5 and so far I'm really happy. A real step up from D610+50mm/D
mark 1 or mark 2?
@@mattduncan5500 I think it was Mark 2
Viltrox 85mm f1.8 is cool, but TTArtisan’s smaller 75mm f2 has me wondering. Has anyone used both and can give a rundown?
The other viltrox lenses have the aperture ring because they started out only making lenses for Fujifilm cameras.
I own the Viltrox 33mm, its alright, it does the job.. but 85mm is a fave Focal length 🙏🙌🙌 .. nice photos btw!! 🙏🙌

This is a good review. That made my decision not to buy this lens. Thank you for this valuable comment.
So which two viltrox lens you prefer to used at wedding shoot 85mm, 56mm or 23mm ,13mm

I've tried both. Still prefer the Viltrox, way better construction, and almost equal optical performance.
@@fabiohernandez5549 some reviewers are ranking this lens above sony 85 f1.8 even opticaly
Sony's 85 1.8 have too swirly bokeh. Dont really like it personally.
really mark 1 or mark 2? there are so many vids placing viltrox as a better lens in performance
The viltrox is the better lens. I have both
Loved the images & their quality. I would definitely go for this lens.
Stellar lens. I've been tempted to get an 85mm (I have a Canon camera body).
So I have a question. If it has a manual control ring and no AF and MF switch how can one switch to manual focus?
You can change that setting in camera. I have it in my FN menu.
Thanks for the review
Hi - Can you zoom in with this lens? And can the background be blured when taking a portrait photo? Thanks
yes you can zoom from 10-3000mm as the name already says, and no the background cannot be blurred as you can see in the video
Seriously?

Please review "Viltrox 50mm f1.8" lens 😊
I like the way u review❤😊
Have you experienced some difficulty to use eye focus feature at low apertures with this lens?

Try viltrox 75mm f1.2 you may like it more than 85mm
yeah but that's a crop sensor lens only
IWouldIfICould,butIcannaeSoIWon't. 😒 You Don't make it for Canon (I have an EOS7D) 😠
Great
Can I be honest? I don't like this image output of this lens. I would consider something else.
it's about her retouching style and surely with her copy of lens that seems to frontfocus, at least to my eyes
