I just bought and played this game this past weekend. It definitely has its flaws, but it's a star trek game and story through and through. You can tell the devs really had a love for star trek when they were making it. I really hope that the steam sales encourage them to make another.
You probably knew this, but that alien race eventually became the Borg, though I agree that it'd be interesting to have them make another appearance!

Completely agree it's too janky/buggy to buy at full price. Though it is great to finally have an original canon timeline story in forever, and as a bit of trivia, those bug body snatchers were originally to be the Borg. (Hence the tease for more at the end of that episode.) Though they dumped that concept after seeing the special effects of the time weren't really up to the challenge.
I never knew that. That's cool! The Borg have always been my favorite villains and to see they originated from my favorite season 1 episode just blows my mind. 😲
@@BenKii I'm not 100% sure as I don't play MMOs & it was a while ago, but I believe the aliens got a story in Star Trek online, so maybe worth looking more into that.
I played it when it came out last year on Xbox Series X and really enjoyed it. I just wish they added a chapter select after you complete the game so you can go back to certain points in the game.

I got this game as a gift from my boyfriend and ooh boy was it awkward having to return it an hour later because of how buggy the PC port was. I ended up buying it for PS5 cheaper and while I agree it's probably the most Trek game out there right now, it lacks so much polish I was more or less just annoyed by the end.
Agreed... I put up with it just so I could get through the good story.

That's good to hear. Is Star Trek Online canon though? I wonder if future show writers will even pay attention to that game.
@@BenKii i do believe its canon, they did bring back some of the DS9 crew and Sela plus some of the Voyager crew so i think it is, but you never know
Are teh controls really that bad? Or is it due to the controller?

It didn't matter. Both were not very good.

im sorry but the graphics look like small step above star trek elite force... is this 2024 or is this 2001 ?
I've seen better but it gets the job done.
Yet another Trek game that is so close yet so far away.
I still give them an "A" for effort.
