Last comment apart, yes I know all about predatory conferences and publishing, and I know there are some academics out there who collude with predatory publishing by lending their credibility. When it came to conferences though my Uni was particularly stingy, I daresay I advanced their reputation by making many presentations at legitimate conferences and I probably ended up paying more on conferences than on my fees, and that is saying something.
Oh I dunno, I reckon that the biennial CEDR disability studies conference is as predatory as they come. I have yet to have had an abstract turned down by them, and I have paid through the nose every time not having a convenient stipend or bursary. The only reason I gave the last one a miss was so I could do a bit of guerilla conferencing elsewhere :)

I'd never heard of this! Excellent information!
Thank you, for the great information
