Un ottimo bomber che ha avuto sfortuna per un incidente banale, rimane comunque un calciatore che per noi Italiani e'un orgoglio per cio'che ha fatto all'estero. Grande Marco Goal Machine
Really unbelievable goalscorer - Such a shame it never happened for him and Rangers together afterwards. A player like this, you have to play to their strengths and they will get you goals ⚽❤
if we had this guy now, we'd break the scottish transfer record, what an amazing footballer, shame for his injury, and thanks am ilf or all the uploads btw!
easy to say he was just a goalscorer, but some of the stuff he was doing off the ball was ahead of his time. If he had stayed fit it's not even a question that we would have got 10 in a row
such a big pity this cool guy and fantastic player had to suffer very unlucky injuries which ended his career too early. @therangers1872: a great tribute, mate!
So much for the never smiles, rarely celebrates crap often attributed to this prolific goal scorer. One of the most gifted goalscorers I've ever seen! I wish him all the best whereever he is now and thank him for the pleasure his goals gave me.
Celtic fan here obviously...Negri was one striker I had respect for Rangers in the 90's...if not for injury he could have caused some damage. Pace, read the game well and could score from headers, bullet of a shot. Seemed like a humble guy who just wanted to score goals and play football. Also used to score against me all the fucking time on Fifa 98!!!! :)
There have been plenty of great strikers at Rangers over the years, but Negri and Mols were the best of them all for me. I reckon they would have been the perfect front pair as well!
did not know about this player as i was not a huge follower of football at the time (i was only 6) but as a celtic fan, i've got to say these goals are fantastic! almost larsson like! (as much as i hate to say!)
@ganimede88 Mamma mia se era bello....che squadra! Che nostalgia! Abbiamo visto giocatori incredibili al tempo del Ciccio.....! Sempre FORZA GRIFO!!!!!!!!!!!
never knew he scored against us (celtic) but he was a goal machine, and the whole squash raquet thing was a smokescreen, he honestly hated being told not to bless himself and that kinda thing-from a good source
Well the squash thing happened, he wasn't the same after that, he scored 5 goals v Dundee Utd after Knox balled the team out at half time and I think the not smiling scoring thing started after that as he was angry and determined that day, he did have problems with Amoruso off the park, must have been told not to cross himself as he never actually did it.
Well, I just watched 6minutes of him scoring for Perugia and he never crossed himself, so I suspect that is made up crap as usual, he did smile though and went a it crazy, sliding across the turf and diving over the ad boards into the crowd.
Honestly if not for that eye injury he would have scored 60 goals that season he was that hot in front of goal, such a talent and enigma, i loved the guy, amazing finisher
Good plaer for Rangers. Pity it didn't work out for him. Strange how there has been no story about him. He knew where the goal was. That costs a lot these days.
Was just looking at how awkward a lot of his goals looked, especially at close range at his feet, always seemed to take the extra touch then squeeze it in... I mean that one from the by line when he skinned the keeper, c’mon!
The exact words of Marco Negri, speaking about his discust and disolusionment of the backward mentality shown by all at rangers. M.N.- ' I was rapidly disillusioned by Rangers and especially their supporters. As part of my professional duties I was strongly encouraged to attend social functions which meant going to several Rangers supporters clubs. The last one I attended really brought home to me the fact that I had nothing in common with these people. '
@Herzog1012 Funny that, read Amoruso's autobiography where he mentions how he was told he had to bless himself on the pitch 2 hours before the game incase any Rangers fans saw him. Admit it, the problem ISN'T shared. There's 1% of both clubs' fans who'll never let it go agreed - the problem is the extra 35% of your fans who seem reluctant to give it up as well that's the problem. Just ask UEFA, you're fined every other season for it!
After that season of goals galore i had high hopes for Negri but it just wasnt to be 😕 Anyone in here remember who we were playing when Mario Jardel was paraded at either the start or half time he was in the Club Deck wi his Tidy Mrs i cant remember how he never signed but he went to Porto and won the Golden Boot 2/3 years on the bounce 😮 i was at the game but cant remember who we played, its a memory id like to forget considering he became a goal machine 😕 WATP 🙌 Edit: i found the info i needed its here if anyone wants to know more - Mario Jardel: The Greatest Rangers Signing That didnt happen. From TheFootyBlog.net
the reason jardel never signed it had something to do with a work permit.. I don't know the full story but all I know was he had problems getting a work permit..
When you think back through the list of amazing players Rangers had in the late 80's, early 90's. It is crazy. I remember he received a bad eye injury after he was hit in the eye with a squash ball. I'm sure it was Porrini. Big huge Italian defender Rangers had at the time. Fucked his season up. He was afraid to head the ball after that. Understandable I guess, after nearly being blinded in one eye. But fair play to him. He was wrecking shit until then. ps... The music is fucking shite.
No i did not know him personally, but it was obvious to see that as when he scored 5 goals at ibrox in front of 50 000 fans he couldn't ever crack a smile and did not celebrate. So me , lie alot of others could easily come to that conclusion , unless he was just unhappy at rangers which s worse.
Forse avrà avuto molta fotuna segnando qst gol, ma 32 reti in appena 29 match non arrivano da soli... forse avrebbe avuto una carriera migliore se nn fosse stato circondato da mlt infortuni... Cmq grande, grandissimo giocatore cm lui all'esetero solo Toni e Vieri...
I am a jock thanks but i also agree with you and what you are saying is something that i often bring up about bigotry to people i meet. When peoplei know bring up a fact about the opposing team whether they be Rangers or Celtic and make a bigoted comment , i will ask them if they are religious and they say no. So it obviously hypocritical on a large scale.
@Herzog1012 my point is this, the instances and frequency of such events are far, FAR greater with your fans than ours. UEFA recognise it - only the SFA (i.e. Rangers fans) doesn't. Also - can you please post a link on youtube to the Celtic fans throwing a homeless man in a fountain with 100's clapping and laughing along?! Also, when was this singing about Davie Coopers death? You need to lay off FollowFollow , your Neil Lennon is a racist chat is currently getting burst!
Marco Negri continued - 'The anti-Catholic feeling was venomous and the songs they sang that evening filled me with disgust. It was at that point I decided not to give my all for a club that condoned such behaviour. I went sick. Walter Smith knew the real reason for my 'illness' and he just ignored it. But I wasn't lying, I was sick, sick of Rangers and sick of what they stood for and that is the truth'
sisi. il mio commento era in riferimento ad appassionati neutrali. pochi, anzi, pochissimi, che non abbiano tifato una squadra o lo abbiano visto all'opera se lo ricordano.
was at every one of those games, but I`d forgot how good he was, brilliant.
Specially compared with the ones of nowadays
Un ottimo bomber che ha avuto sfortuna per un incidente banale, rimane comunque un calciatore che per noi Italiani e'un orgoglio per cio'che ha fatto all'estero. Grande Marco Goal Machine
Celtic fan here, what a player he was, he could of rivalled Larsson if not for his injury.
Ha injury....he was punched
Unbelievable striker! Really brilliant natural goal scorer
he was a scoring machine
23 goals in his first ten league games.
Guy was a legend...and we were meant to be signing Jardel if it wasn't for the work permit problems...imagine those two as a front pairing!
Negri was a proper enigma.
CLASS PURE AND SIMPLE,WATP 👍
Love the Penalty against Hibs at 5.19! Two saves and off the bar and he still scored 😜
+lex13vs I love the bit when Sergio Porrini hits him in the eye with a squash ball, Celtic go on to win the league and Rangers then die in 2012 RIP :D
+MrMervinJMinky When did Rangers die? The company that owned the club got liquidated, not the club.

He might only have played just over half a season, but 32 goals in that time...but what a finisher and he made it look easy.
Not a single toe bash. What a player
Celtic fan here obviously...Negri was one striker I had respect for Rangers in the 90's...if not for injury he could have caused some damage. Different class what a player.
great video!
Have to say his finishing was bloody lethal.
Was at most of those games what a player!
he was on course for a record that would NEVER have been seen again.
n' it still pisses me aff lol
fuckin life!
brilliant.
Excellent sound track... Mauro Picotto.... Iguana 👍👌
Non conoscevo questo giocatore.
Forte
Brilliant Player for Rangers loved his time at Gers
Fuck all you Celtic fucks
guy was a fucking legend
Talento sprecato
i liked him. technical player
did not know about this player as i was not a huge follower of football at the time (i was only 6) but as a celtic fan, i've got to say these goals are fantastic! almost larsson like! (as much as i hate to say!)
Outstandingly brilliant, just a shame it didn’t last long as he had the lot.
Half a season.......until that squash game.
Just too good , end of.
some player. from a celtic fan
Deadliest size 5 feet in football 😳🇬🇧
@ganimede88 Mamma mia se era bello....che squadra! Che nostalgia! Abbiamo visto giocatori incredibili al tempo del Ciccio.....! Sempre FORZA GRIFO!!!!!!!!!!!
Sergio Porrini GRRRRRRR!!!!!
Rangers and Marco were made for each other.
This guy would have been the best striker to play in Scotland ever..... sadly due to various things it never worked out that way
He'd of scored 100+ goals if he hadn't of got the eye injury.
Wasn't one for the somersaults was our Marco
i remember bein gutted when he didnt come back
what makes you write this about Marco's personality? did you know him personally?
never knew he scored against us (celtic) but he was a goal machine, and the whole squash raquet thing was a smokescreen, he honestly hated being told not to bless himself and that kinda thing-from a good source

Sergio Porrini battered him for saying something out of order to his missus. Was explained as a "squash injury", but it was nothing of the sort.
Honestly if not for that eye injury he would have scored 60 goals that season he was that hot in front of goal, such a talent and enigma, i loved the guy, amazing finisher
Half a season wonder.
any1 an idea what Marco does at the moment?
He works at specsavers 🤓🤣
The person that assisted most of the was Laudrup
good feet fer a big man...
Great striker, just a shame he stopped trying after the huns told him to stop blessing himself.
Yep.
Half a season 😢
Good plaer for Rangers. Pity it didn't work out for him. Strange how there has been no story about him. He knew where the goal was. That costs a lot these days.
Not sure of i liked watching the goals or slipping into a ekky flashback from 1999 more.....
Both probably.
Cheers..
No celebrations for him..why?
It's always the best players who get the worst/stupidest injuries.
Was just looking at how awkward a lot of his goals looked, especially at close range at his feet, always seemed to take the extra touch then squeeze it in... I mean that one from the by line when he skinned the keeper, c’mon!
He looked like Hans Gruber
@mrbassman25 Surely Boydy takes some beating? Great goalscorer but mother of christ, if he wasn't up for it, he wouldn't move.
alright, that's strange indeed

Never a One season wonder but for his eye injury but let the Great unwashed disagree
does anyone actually know why he barley played in the other seasons? He was like the best ever Rangers player
billyblackburn87 He wasn't the same after that eye injury.
Dave Dante i thought he fell out with Walter Smith or somthing
Dave Dante do you consider him a rangers legend?
billyblackburn87 Walter left after his first season and Advocaat didnt fancy him
billyblackburn87 ... one good season then scowled his way through the rest. Not even half the player Laudrup was.
