This is the definition of indie folk. You can't help but feel so free.

i like this version better simply because of the line: the tallest man i've ever seen afloat on a boat on a boat. it's just the way he sings it, it's almost empowering

This! And tbh I feel the second version made it more "pop like" by repeating the "Can you chase this fire away" too many times from the beginning of the song. Unlike that version, this one advances on the melody and lyrics very organically.
This came on random when I was camping alone in the High country of Victoria, Australia. Cannot explain that feeling.

This is my YELLOW LIGHT in an ocean of BLACK WATER, because I am only HUMAN, WE all SINK I am a SINKING MAN. It's a SLOW LIFE, and I move SLOW AND STEADY
a PHANTOM follows me as I stare at the SKELETONS covered with ice CRYSTALS near my LAKEHOUSE. I blaze my illegal NUMB BEARS to try and escape the pain as I enter a deep deep SLOOM. I want to be in HAWAII, I want to have this HAPPY SONG with me. I feel this HUNGER, like WOLVES WITHOUT TEETH do. Their DIRTY PAWS follow their KING AND LIONHEART, searching for the I OF THE STORM.
I picture SILHOUETTES of A BOY AND A BIRD, floating on PARTICLES. The boy, JOSIE, is playing with SUGAR IN A BOWL, sadly singing "WERE GETTING OLDER"

Finally. Of Monster and Men is one of my favorite bands. Listen to their whole album it's amazing. Nowadays, people don't pay attention to the lyrics. They sing it without knowing what they are really singing about. OMAM is just amazing. The meaning behind their songs are soothing and just incredible.

I just can't get over how amazing this band is.
These two and their voices are nearly perfect together, perfect compliment for each other.

what happened to the spider in the new version. im crying. this is so different. i love it so much. i keep finding new (old) music by them and everytime i do i just get so overwhelmed and break down into happy tears. this time it happened at "on a boat, on a boat."

Dicovered Of Monsters And Men yesterday, but I have listened to their songs SOOOO much!
One of the first songs I found that got me into Indie Folk. Still an amazing song.
I love the outro, the last 2 minutes or so are just so beautiful

Such a great song. Little Talks and Dirty Paws are awesome too, but this just takes the cake. Of Monsters and Men are easily the best new band of the last 5 years. So glad I got to see them live.

i am the same way lol, but i'm 13. people say that to me too and i'm like this is quality music, of monsters and men isn't autotuned and fake, they have real talent unlike lady gaga and nicki minaj. their music also has meaning to it, like many other songs, but i feel a real connection to omam music

I really think the best kind of taste of music is a broad one. Who are you to say one type of music is bad? Each genre has its perks, whether it's good for dancing, or just downright beautiful.
People usually say that pop sucks.But that generalization is incorrect. Saying most pop is crap is true. Indie bands that make it on the radio are the reason that I haven't completely banned kiss108 in my car. Just to be clear, I heard this band on a rock station and I am utterly hooked to this band

Song is so good. This entire album is so good. Albums like this are like a 100 year storm, they are a rare event. It's a good thing you can't wear out a digital recording, because I would be getting close. This band is going to take off like a rocket.
