    I got my R5c coming friday. Have an R5 now. Rented a A7s3. Sony has better Dynamic range. That's the biggest thing i miss about the sony. Everyone knows the A7s3 has better lowlight. But what noone talks about is that the R5 ISO looks better at 3200 & 6400 than the A7s3 and i never go over iso 6400 on any camera. Noone shoots at 25,000 iso.

    • @RyanWebber
      @RyanWebber  2 года назад +1

      So far I’ve noticed Sony is light years ahead in low light (no surprise), and it’s better autofocus. But yes, the second base iso at 3200 is better looking than the second base iso of 12800 in a Sony.

      R5C is incredibile in low light performance for a 45 MP sensor! Try to shot 8K RAW and than set Canon log 2 in Da Vinci; you can appreciate better dynamic range than canon log3, even if you can’t set canon log 2 in camera before recording.

    Cfexpress are cheaper than SDcards and faster. I shoot in R3 and c70 but shot on the R5 and the A7S3.
    Angelbird Pro SE is an CFExpress card with 512gb storage. It has 850MBps write and 1785MBps read for $175 bucks.
    To put that into perspective, that is almost 3 times faster then the fastest as card. And a whole bunch faster read.
    Also to put that into perspective, how much is the fastest 512gb SD card? 400-500 bucks minimum?
    $179.99 for the angel bird.
    Oh yeah one more thing, 800MB is fast enough for any setting on the Canon R5 and R5C. Why? Because you times the bit by the byte… by 8.
    So Canons max data rate is under the 850MBps of the Angelbird SE card.

    To people saying A7S3 has better DR. It does and doesn’t. I own the R3 and c70. I owned the A7S3 and R5.
    Did not like the A7S3’s color science or picture. Liked the R5. Now the R5 has worse DR than a7S3. But the R5C’s DR IS NOT THE SAME as R5’s. Check out Gerald Undones review about it posted yesterday. It is much closer to an R5C. It being the A7S3.
    Basically, Canons 14 stops versus Sonys 15 stops? But Canon has better highlight recovery at the same time as better exposure. Also better image. Better everything. Shutter angle? Yup. Internal Cinema RAW? Got that to!
    Why? Because Sony in all its glory was stupid. They made a cinema camera, IE FX3. Without cinema features….
