Alright here’s the deal. Played Gibson LP custom for years. Good guitar, but shred friendly..not optimal. Picked up a Harley Benton Fusion II w/ roasted maple neck to dip my toes in this world. My playing instantly changed/improved. Come across the DK24 last year. Wanted the HSH army green..then I see this model coming out this year. I feel like this is THE ONE I’ve been searching for a player for all the years I’ve played. More excited for this than any other guitar I’ve ever owned (Ibanez Jem/PGM301 included). I must obtain!!
Just discovered your channel via Charvel dk24 search. Your demos are perfect. Its great to hear the guitar with room mics. How do you feel about the Full-Shred? Dont you find it lacking body? How would you think it compares with GG's bridge pickup?
Hi mate.Good to hear from you. I do like mid....and Guthrie thrives on the poke of the mid range. His pickups do have more mid than the FullShred, so maybe s more mid range focussed pickup would help. I love using a Boss Ge-7 Eq which can nail the tone. Thanks for watching....tell your friends!!!!

How different is the mahogany compared with the other versions in Alder , does the full shred sounds harsher/brighter in the other models and does this mahogany model really sounds much more mid focused and full bodied even with the full shred? I'am seriously considering buying this or even the MJ model but i've been reading a lot of people saying that the full shred doesn't sound very good in the models with Alder body . The mahogany is definitely more mid focussed. It's like a sleek LP with a trem! I don't mind the Full shred, but to me, I'd rather hear a '59/JAzz or Super distortionPaf Pro combination to add a little clarity. Great guitar though.
Thanks for the amazing review, been eyeing this one for a while.. I know you mentioned that it has great playability, but can you have a low action with it since it has compound radius? how are binds on lower frets?
Depends on how low you like to go really? I,m not a low action kind of guy. But I’ve no worries that it can be set up pretty close tot the frets without any probs.

Right now i play a Harley Benton Fusion wich ive installed some Seymour Duncans in it sounds amazing but then again i am Terrible at soldering...... I need a guitar made for me but it just has to have ss frets or it would still feel like a downgrade
I'm trying to get hold of this guitar, but it seems no one has it in stock! I live outside the US, and I just can't find a place to buy the guitar. Do you have any idea why that may be?

I feel this would benefit from having a maple top. I don't really like the pure mahogony sound, there is something lacking in the tone. Too depressing woody and dark for my taste. I hope Charvel makes a few mahogony + maple dk 24:s because I really love the dk sound in general. I know they had one but it's sold out. If they kept making them they'd have a Gibson killer for sure.

they have been soooo successful that Charvel just can;t build enough. They will hit the stores again, keep an eye out.

No they’re not. However the recently released Japanese version does have ss frets.

There is no older version? This is the first baked neck hsh mahogany body that Charvel have done!

Ahhh.....I see 😁its all about the mahogany body. It’s basically a mex built Guthrie. The mahogany gives it a lot more mid range bark🎸
