I just dehydrated some. I only brushed olive oil on one side and Italian seasoning with paprika.pretty good for my first time.maybe different spices next time
I’m cajun and glad to see Tony Sachere seasoning used. I love garlic too. Good to see the different ways to do it. It’s good to see how you did the different ones.
I do my zucchini chips (also, sweet potato, beets, etc) by dehydrating them at 125 for 16 hours. Then I put them in the air fryer at 180 for 30 min. And finish them at 200 for 5 min. Crispy as all get out. Then I store them in mason jars with a desiccant (it’s humid here) sealed with a jar sealer that removes the air and seals a canning lid on them. Always crispy and fresh.
I'm not sure how people can still be so incredibly ignorant enough to believe that any oil is bad for them. We have the entire internet at our fingertips to research such a simple thing.
Wiztard oh my gosh! There are lots of oils that are not good for you. Any hydrogenated oils bad. Look at how Canola oil is made. Won’t even buy dog food with that oil in it.any soy,or corn oil that isn’t organic isn’t great,either......a little won’t hurt but isn’t healthy....but,we DO need plenty of oil and fats....
Butter-n-Thyme w/ChefStevenPennington love this idea! Like raw potatoes can I drop ‘raw’ zucchini slices directly into the hot oil? I’d like to eliminate the labor intensive step of dehydration. Otherwise I might burn out on making them. Thx!
I've heard that a time or two now. And thank for the comment. I grew up not liking my voice, as I think most were the same. I've editing so many hundreds of hours of creating videos I ok with it now. :)
frito lay should do more than just root vegetables, like this video proves. But keep the same family sized bags and orice. Akso a silicone baking mat would be ideal for the zucchini not to melt into the metal, silpat I believe its called.
Carol Elsberry If the oil is really hot the zucchini will start to burn very quickly. Be sure to do a tester. If you add too many at once the temperature will fall quickly. Here to help anyway I can Carol
So basically 160c (tiny bit longer time as 325 is ~163c) at first and lower to 90c (tiny bit longer as it equals to ~93c) for us other in the world that uses metric.
Less slide show effects and move actual video footage would be nice. There was something wrong with the audio halfway too. The explanation's good but it'll be better if there was something to visualise with the audio, ie actual footage of how crisp the chips are etc. All the best!
Thank you for the feedback. I usually try to not have still images in the videos too much. I really see what you mean with this video. If you see some of the other videos I think you'll enjoy. One of my goals is to try and to not be annoying and keep everything moving along in the videos. Thanks
The crunch at the end convinced me to make this! I don't eat potato chips, but I really miss the crunch :)

Tony Chachere is absolute king of general seasoning. I put it on everything and am never disappointed.
Thank you for all the effort you went to in testing!! Very very much appreciated :)

I followed you instructions and I’m not sure how mine didn’t turn out like your directions
So great video.
Full watched.
Wish you all the best.❣️🎀
Oh wow!! The sound of the crunch made it hectic!!
Although I try to avoid oil, I'm going to try the baked w/oil method! Thank you.
Lisa Edwards How about a healthy alternative such as organic coconut oil?
Eulalio Tacuba Sounds like a great idea!
Or olive oil

Love zucchini! Thanks for the ideas!
Great presentation thanks for this. I going the dehydrator rout with various seasonings. I am trying garlic, parmesan, parsley. no oil. We shall see.
Love the garlic and parmesan idea. Let me know how it works out for you. Just remember if you fry them, to fry at low temperature or they'll burn.
Butter-n-Thyme w/ChefStevenPennington love this idea! Like raw potatoes can I drop ‘raw’ zucchini slices directly into the hot oil? I’d like to eliminate the labor intensive step of dehydration. Otherwise I might burn out on making them. Thx!
Your voice is sooo relaxing..
Thanks for sharing Chef... I will try with egg plants ~~~
Steve Jang ..how did that work out?
why not try straight frying instead o dehydrating first?? Not everyone has a dehydrator and it's prolly an unneccessary step...
Cant believe they can be so crispy
The dehydration process works best in my opinion.
I'm about to get an air fryer. I'm betting they turn out great that way. Might give that a try.
You’re making me hungry for some😋
Thank you can't wait to try them
People... olive oil is healthy for you
If you're squeezing it fresh from olives.
Not when cooking
Wondering Spirit no it’s healthy 😂
Not when it gets over certain temps
olive oil is what the body need for be healthy
And they seem so simple to make! Thank you
You’re welcome 😊
It looks yumi.great idea different way to do it.thank u for ur recipe I will do it. Hi from miami
I love it, except for the oil at the last try……thank you!
The baking at 200F for an hour did not work at all, Soggy so I made some pasta and added the zucchini.
Did you place the zucchini on aluminum foil? Each oven is a little bit different. You could trying going longer, that usually works great.
@@butter-n-thyme No I did not use aluminum foil my bad. I tried the microwave and it was quicker 12 minutes.
Mine didn’t come out crispy
Maybe salt the zucchini beforehand to draw out water.
Same for me and I salted
@@Gabriellaella23I salted and they still came out soggy.
Amazing straight to the point
Lovely, had some today
Oh man, I LOVE YOUR VOICE😍😍😍

I tried the first one exactly followed it was a failure super soft and some burned
Same
Those who use microwave can do it, cut and season -- 5 mins then turn and 3 min done
Um yeah its been taking me alot longer to make these after the 325 bake. Been about another hour after the first one and they still not done
Same here, I'm increasing the heat
Thank you! It doesn’t work
Do chips/veggie chips cooked in air fryer deformed when cut in a shape?
I saw it with truffle oil.
Definitely should update your instructions because after 1 hour on 200° they are still saggy
PSA oil doesn't mean unhealthy
Great test video, Thanks
What about the air fryer?
Shannon OLeary tried it. Flies all over to the sides of the fryer. Doesn’t work.
Dope video
You sound like Jim from the office
Will this work with cucumbers?
so dehydrate then fry? how long dehydrate before fry? Great vid. but lots of missig info.
just realized how old this vid is. my bad..hope your alive.
Did you check the link? It could be very helpful. Enjoy! www.butter-n-thyme.com/crispy-zucchini-chips/
wow thats all it is
Nice recipe
Love the crunch taste demo 😊😂
Hello
Which one do you mean ?
Fahrenheit?
Centigrade
Fahrenheit
Yum, thank you.
I use no oil, as the oils can go rancid if storing for longer periods.
I drink the oil, kinda salty tasty gives me energy dawg
Then don't store them for that Long? It takes many months for oils to go rancid you freak
Thanks
Mine came out soft. Next time I will try with less olive oil...
Less oil and possibly a higher temperature? All ovens are a little bit different. Which method did you use?
What about bake + fry ?
Nice video!
Ok, you win...That's a cool idea...I'll give that a try. Thanks
hah really its crispy? ...i will try it
What a beautiful voice!
Haha this is awesome
Was there anybody here that this worked for?
may be air fryer would do good job for this purpose.
I've been on a diet for only a week and all I want is chips but I've lost 5 pounds so I'm trying to stay strong
Stay with it Brady. You'll just keep feeling better everyday.
Extra virgin olive oil is healthy for you
Totally agree Betty. I love using olive oil. Just be sure to buy the dark bottles. They keep the unwanted effects of light from hurting the Olive oil.
🆒 Nice voice🎵🎤
So 325 equalts to what in the uk 325 what ? F.. Celsius ?
That last bunch looked burnt! What is he talking about!
You get to control the doneness when frying them. Point is once dehydrated they fry quickly. Does that help answer your question?
I am making these right now, doing method one, after an hour at 200, zucchini still soggy, any advice?
would putting them on like a little rack on the pan be better at drying them out than putting them on foil? or do I just need to give it more time?
Please make sure they are on aluminum foil and are not cut too thick.
I used same method but used parchment paper and 200 degrees for 2.5 hours only (no 325). Then leave in oven to cook for another 30 mins… PERFECT.
Wow….those chips take about 26 hours to make. I’ll just eat baked zucchini.
Cannot blame you for that one :)
Wtf are u on about
Alooooominum.
frito lay should do more than just root vegetables, like this video proves. But keep the same family sized bags and orice. Akso a silicone baking mat would be ideal for the zucchini not to melt into the metal, silpat I believe its called.
That's a great idea. I would certainly buy them. You said it here first, you get the credit...
This didn’t work at all. Even after two hours in the oven they were still soggy. The crunch sounds must have been Cheetos. Lol.
I was watching another video and they said you need to take a paper towel and remove moisture or else they will stay soggy.
Farenheit or Celsius, U.S. I'm guessin.....f
You need to dry them actually.
it didn't look like you oil was hot enough??
Carol Elsberry If the oil is really hot the zucchini will start to burn very quickly. Be sure to do a tester. If you add too many at once the temperature will fall quickly. Here to help anyway I can Carol
Wow! Thanks!!
Air fryer test please 🙏
Air fryer
1 hour 😅
Did you see the dehydrator takes them 24hr lol that’s terrible
yeah this didn't work at all

Never cook on foil .

Turned out soggy!
I like it very much, because all methods are vegan.
i want that knife'
Great but that chewing noise 😩
Come on...That was the good part, more like the funny part 😂
No Deep fry🤮
Not even close, waste of time
Try dehydrating and frying. Best texture
FUCKING GROOOOOOSSSSSS WHY DO U RECORD YOURSELF EATINGGGGFF
My oven baked witb oil ones came out very soggy.
