  • Making veggie chips is an excellent way to use up all those zucchinis (courgettes), which can grow prolifically and oversize in your garden. Even if you are not a gardener, buying zucchini for the exact purpose of making chips is highly recommended and so much healthier than the standard store-bought potato chip.
If you love to snack on something crispy and salty than these dehydrated salt & vinegar zucchini chips will hit the spot. They are healthy enough to eat by the handful and delicious enough to be craveable!

At age 43 I have never eaten courgettes before. I only have 1 metre of intestine left after many operations over the years due to having crohns disease since I was a little girl. I also have aspergers and so I don't eat food mixed up for example a stir-fry but I will eat all the ingredients separately, it drives me nuts so I can only imagine how hard it was for Mum. I spent many nights sitting at the dining table because I refused to eat a lot of things. What I was unable to convey was that I was in pain. Over the last few years I've been trying new foods and finding ways of preparing food to match my taste buds and my ability to digest. So this week it's courgettes and since I recently purchased a dehydrator I really appreciate your video. I'm also going to try quickly frying them like zoodles with teriyaki sauce which is also a new flavour for me. I will also have teriyaki chicken but I'll cook it separately. I'm looking forward to watching all of you products as ironically I love to cook and I love kitchen gadgets. Thank you again for the recipe and Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.

Please, please, please start eating kefir. Milk kefir is best. Looks up Crohn’s disease and kefir to understand why I am recommending this.

@JK-ox2kp hi, thank you for taking the time to offer some help to me. We have one company that makes kefir milk some with different flavors including mango am turmeric which is a.so good for digestion. Unfortunately because of my health I can't work and the product is just too expensive.😊

@@amyrivers4093you can buy kifer grains and make it yourself.

@simonesmit6708 if you read my last message you would know that I can't afford to buy kefir whether made or still in the grain form. Food costs two to three more in my small country than it does in places like America. I only have one metre of intestine left and all known ways to feed me have already failed eg a gastro tube down my nose, peg line and the last resort of being fed through my veins which my body rejected after each line was placed clotted each major vein in my body damaging my venous system leaving me in worse health. There are not many foods that I can digest so my lifelong specialists gave me two years to live at the most and so far it's been 13 years. So while I appreciate the suggestions, however like I've already said I can't afford to try it.

I tried these 2 days ago. Made bbq, ranch, taco, and salt and vinegar. Dried until crispy. I must say I’d pretty much have to be starving before eating. They were just terrible. I love zucchini and am all for consuming healthy foods; but certainly not if I have to choke it down!!

How do you keep them crunchy? Mine are good til they leave the dehydrator then they get chewy

Vacuum seal them until you’re ready to consume. Or oxygen absorbers in an airtight glass jar.

Have you ever made a sizeable vegetable crisp, example; mushroom / okra?

Hi there, vegetable crisps will work better if you slice them thinly. Thick slices or chunks generally do not work so well.
