- Thought id give a run down on micro lure fishing since ive had no end of questions on how to do it, even though there are three other videos on the channel going over this, just for the record here you go, no excuse to not catch anything now :D

Between you, Extreme Phili fishing and ginger fishermen I'm getting right into micro lure fishing. Im getting a bit of canal/river envy though, as its pretty limited for those in the Scarborough area.

Love fishing micro lures on river and lakes because, as you say, sometimes a bigger one will have a go too. 0.5g jig heads and 25mm lures from C.A.N Lures have gotten me fish on all sorts of days when no other lure was being sniffed at. Thanks for the great videos
almost like cheating sometimes, even had pike over 15lb on 1inch baits its bizzare.

Hi mate, I've not long got back from doing exactly the same with the same results loads of diddy perch! But last night I went out and had the normal diddy perch plus 5 roach and got really excited twice thinking I had finally got a bream but sadly both foul hooked in the dorsal fin, shame because they were both about a pound and a half, oh well keep trying thanks for the tips mate 😉🎣👍

If you want Roach try a fly ( red green yellow tag on light dropshot or redtag with tungsten with bead. The one you use light jighead is too great lure for Perch as we can see. Nice vid 👍🎅👍
where did you bought those soft plastic jigs
which braided size pound are suitable for micro size lure like this? I tried with 6LBS braided line but can't cast that far like others does, so will 4LBS poun braided line will cast futher?
Yeah 4lb would be fine I personally use 5lb 4 strand daiwa j-braid, it's super fine like cotton.

Great video! but why do you have braid mainline and fluorocarbon leader? why not load the reel with fluorocarbon? Thank you!
I personally prefer the sensitivity and finer diameter of the braid main line.
Have you ever tried fishing these tiny lures on a dropshot? I fish a large river and dont seem to be able to get the lure down to the depth where the fish are.
ive never used the drop shot but they are drop shot lures, rivers are a different game to canals youll need a lot more weight no matter style of lure fishing your doing.

Great video Dom, I am looking to get into perch fishing but would you say a larger perch say 2lb + would destroy this 2lb leader? are you purposly targetting the micro ones? Thanks for the video i've subbed. If you could return the favour that would be really helpful.
not at all mate if you play them right, had quite a few 2s and lots of nice chub/bream on the small lures with the 2lb leader.

Just found ur channel man digging ur video make more videos keep up good work i just bought my frist ultralight and light spinning rod want get into mirco lures panfish. I bought these lures called trout magnet and crappie magnet think u would like them bought it off Amazon should check it out one of best in world for all types of fish.
Is the X8 j braid ok to use for this method. 9lb is 0.6 mm ?
yeah give it a try not massivly different to the 5lb, the idea with the extra thin line is to help flick the tiny weights.
My only concern with using 2 lb fluorocarbon is if I hook a pike then you're gonna get snapped off, or likewise if I get snagged. On my current set up I have a leader of 10lb Drennan Supplex, would I get away with using this do you reckon with these micro plastics? It is 0.30mm, but it does claim to be invisible when in the water
You can try it but if your wanting any roach and silvers they will be put off by it, I have issues going up to 4lb for them. But a little size 12/14 hook is nothing to a pike it will be shed super easy.
@@DomFishingUK cheers Dom, I'll get some 2 lb Drennan Supplex, there's a big difference in the diameter the 10 lb is 0.30 mm and the 2 lb is just 0.12 mm. They also do a 2.6 lb which I suppose would work okay
