This video was hard for me to watch. Like you, I used to get upset over a lot of things going wrong as we traveled in our RV anxious to see what was around the next corner. But now I see much more clearly. I know what was around that last corner. I would love to have problems like I used to have in days gone by. I don't have a list of issues that seem like mountains. My husband is dying. I listen for his breathing all through the night. I want more time with him. I would so dearly love to be back in our RV, dealing with multiple issues on our journeys instead of the journey we are on right now. Step back for a while.

I started watching your channel 7 or eight years ago and in the last two years I have seen a dramatic drop in your joy and your sense of wonder. I saw sparks of it when you moved on your base camp. And then there was the incident that I won’t mention and that slide continued is there some sort of side hustle that you could do like video editing for other creators? That would give you some sort of income while you spend time up on that mountain, doing something that’s new to you. As you put your creativity into developing that little parcel of land , you might find your joy again I don’t watch your channel much anymore because honestly I can see it’s become more of a ‘let’s put something out so I can get a paycheck’ rather than let’s go on an adventure together sort of thing. For those of us who’ve been around long time, we can all see the difference. I’m not putting this out as a criticism. I’m just responding to your video and hoping that you find peace that can’t be found found at an infield of a race track or in a Bud light.

as someone that lives in a van and travels… we all have these types of days/weeks. Whenever I have a day like this I just assume it is because I am really tired or stressed about something else. It is like a compounding thing. When I was in the military I was taught to only stress about the things you can control and make steps to the things you can’t control. No need to stress about Amazon because that is out of your control. Put a note on the delivery to deliver after 9am or have it delivered to an amazon lock box. I have gotten a lot better about these problems that arise by looking at life and things like a big experiment. Not all experiments succeed and it helps me cope when things break or don’t go to plan. I have been watching you since Day 1 ish… and you have come so far!

Eric, it's not just you. This winter we were committed to spending three to fouronths staying with my autistic brother-in-law to give other siblings a break. Also was going to do some repairs on house, tear down an old shed, clean up back fence line to have new fence installed. First, my husband, Tom's, a-fib started giving him trouble. Dr started new med. So we stayed for two weeks so that could be checked. While waiting, I decided I needed new glasses. Opthalmologist said cataracts were so bad, glasses wouldn't help. So I had left eye done. Couldn't see with old glasses so did without for 3weeks. Then had right eye done, another 3weeks to get that checked. Then glasses. Meanwhile, first cold night in January, furnace doesn't work. Repairs and parts took a week. We have a travel trailer at the lake, so we go down there,40 miles away, only to discover a leak under it. After tearing off the protector, we located the leak. To fix it, we have to remove the range and several drawers. At that time, the HVAC guy calls, the parts are in, he'll be at our house in 15 minutes. We are an hour away. So it's first thing next day. It snows that evening. He cannot get out of his yard in the country and he has the part in his truck. Finally calls at 6pm, to say it will be the next day. At 4 pm 11days after furnace quit working, it was fixed. We got our stuff all ready to leave on the day I get my glasses. The check engine light comes on in my car. The intake manifold is cracked. When we got the car back, we left as the shop was closing for the day on Friday. By the time I got home, the light was back on. So we took it to O'Reilly's. The error code said miss on 3 cylinders. Monday took car back to shop. They cut off catalytic converters. Yes , our car has two. It still didn't run right. Tom drove around block and it just wouldn't pull itself. So back to shop. They did tune up and new coil packs.. still not running right. This time, the owner, not his grandson, worked on it. The grandson had put the intake manifold gasket on backwards causing all the problems. The owner did not charge for tune up or coil packs. The light comes on so we have to put new cats on. We thought, okay well just drive our pickup down. Better to haul stuff, anyway. We had some limbs on our little trailer to haul to city burn facility. There was clunking in rear end of truck. U-jouints. This was when we decided that God was putting too many obstacles in our way. We are staying home. Since then, washer hose busted, freezer rubber gasket started not sealing well. And lawn mower stopped running. Said all this to let you know, It's not just you. So , I believe everything comes and goes in ebbs and flows. Looks like Opie came up to give you support. They are a God Send in times of trouble. Truxtop is always ready with a rub and a petting session. Eric, keep sharing the good and the and. We will keep watching and praying for your (and your babies) health, wealth, and happiness❤❤😂

Hi Eric. I haven't commented in a while but today you need a friend. I want to thank you for all these years of sharing the good, bad and ugly of your life. Because of you, we can travel all over this country. You do the driving, but thousands of people are sitting beside you and filling up the seats behind you. (Maybe that's the rattle lol). We all have had moments when everything seems to go bad. We feel your pain. Take a deep breath. Kevin is having a bad time today too. I watch Kevin because of you. He helped you with the black van with the red stripe and impressed me with what a good man he is. Because of you, I subscribe to him. Because of you, I bought a countertop dish washer and love it. Thank you, Eric, for ignoring the Tater haters and focusing on good people like me. Jax the wonder cat is always beside you, jumping up on the picnic table or big rock and stretching out in the sun. Tara and Opie love you and so do we.

i definitely can relate to being overwhelmed with problems. i'd gladly trade places with you eric. it's normal and understandable to get down in the dumps when you have a string of problems that happens. as the saying goes, which may be all too apt for your situtation: when it rains it pours. but luckily, all of your problems are fixable. at least your health is relatively good.. and you're healing up from the fall. when your health really goes south, trust me it REALLY makes life not fun and sometimes impossible. anyhow.. i think that is one of the best aspects of your channel. we learn so much about the REALITY of living in an RV, what are the most common problems, and then you show us how you solve them and overcome them. it is an overarching story and while i know it sucks to be in those situations, it provides a story and content for your channel. but i hope that in the future your problems come along at a more manageable rate.. i think it's sort of inevitable though that when you buy a used RV and start travelling with it, all of the issues are going to start showing up.. until you eventually get it all squared away. in the mean time, try to take some time each day to focus on the good things you have to be thankful for, instead of just dwelling on the problems.. im sure solutions will be found and eventually you'll be enjoying yourself again in the near future.

Don't worry be happy. Sing the song . Go to wm or Lowes get a small 110 v dehumidifier
Get the drain hose so u don't have to empty the tank. It will feel like the Ramada Inn.
There are a lot of tire shops on Broadway, with service trucks .
Then go to a local despensery pick up some Indica to relax and some Sativa to give u energy to create a plan.

Go for a ride on the bike with some good music, that will help clear your head. Praying for better days for you.

Hang in there man! I been living in an RV for 7 years now in AZ and they are JUNK! Constantly fixing things. My door latches have to be oiled a lot to keep them working. Also the spring in there likes to disintegrate once in a while. I had to replace everything but the tank on my water heater and modify the crap out of my air conditioner to keep it working. I've replaced the fans on both the air and the furnace and repaired the slide out a few times and I'm parked most of the time. Leaks are a huge deal. Take care of your roof before it leaks and use Tropicool silicone sealer if you have EPDM roof. The stuff made for EPDM roofs is complete junk and will be a pain to remove when it starts peeling.

Go ahead with your undergrowth because it will bring you some joy. When it gets tough you can stop, look around and find some small thing that brings you joy. Opie is a good example of that. You will get through this and flourish as you have done in the past. Thanks for sharing as it reminds me to also slow down and take things one step at a time. Hi Eric. I know EXACTLY what you are going thru. Lately my genny stopped working the same time as my steps. (Related)? Also my awning blew off on the hiway last year at this time. Just got a flat tire on my trip from fla to northeast. Brakes gave out and needed a new caliper that was leaking, pads all around and a new rotor that will hopefully be here tomorrow. Today they sent the front one by mistake. Oh, and my slide needed fixing because it would not come out. At least it was not stuck out. Anyway, i am in Austin and headed thru Dallas and Ok then thru St. Louis and on to the east. If you want to get together and compare notes, let me know. Good luck

You need a "thumper" as my steel hauler uncle called it. It's a baton that you reach in a thump the inside dually tires with to check inflation. You actually judge by the sound of the thump. They make metal valve stems for the inside tires that reach through the outside tire. You'll have to buy them at a truck supply place.

Buy a floor jack and an electric impact with a couple jack stands. You could climb under and check your tires and start learning to do yiur own preventive maintenance. Next time you have the tires checked get them to put a valve on trhe inside rim that stocks out though the outside rim. Its on all trucks with rear dues. So you can check the air pressure any time.

Time to spend some time learning some mechanical, electrical and plumbing "skills". RV's are simple, beyond belief. If you are going to roll around the country in a 30 year old RV, it would likely prudent to go spend a couple thousand dollrs at Harbor Freight and construct a basic, but capable, mobile shop inside that Harley Trailer. ... And you are rolling around with TEN tires on the ground and you don't have an air compressor on board???? Bizarre.
