- It's another Battle of the Radio Stations. We go to Dallas, Texas to listen to the two Hot ACs battling for the DFW's 90's and 2000's.
First we have Cruz on Mix 102.9 (KDMX) and then Kevin, sitting in for Sid Kelly on Hot 93.3 (KLIF).
Mix 102.9 is surprisingly diverse.
I notice that Mix 102.9 has a lot of Alt Rock in their playlist. It seemed to work out more for them. Like for example, Come As You Are by Nirvana is a song that most Hot ACs avoid, but Mix 102.9 played it as shown in their part of the aircheck. It might've drawn more people to their station. I don't know
hot 93.3 soon it will become WBAP Simulcast on January 3, 2023 right? Leaving this only Hot AC in Dallas!
That is the rumor. Sadly, Hot 93.3 has been at a .07 12+
yes it is!@@Radiomaverick
It seems that in general, most stations, focusing on the 90s and 2000 type of format, for example, and Chicago, and this one in Dallas seem to not Garner a lot of ratings
please do AirCheck tomorrow for hot 93.3 Become a simulcast of 820 WBAP for 2nd time!
@@brandongaming1049I was not able to record it due some work I’m doing in Vegas. But I heard it was good with a promo about news history in Dallas and the world, and the morning news team talked about how excited they were to be on the FM.
Could you maybe do a comparison of these two stations and the internet radio station based at the University of North Texas called Mean Green Hits? Mean Green Hits plays a format called Young Classics, meaning that it plays mostly hits from the 1990's to the 2010's. I can send you an aircheck.
On the topic of Texas, can you do 98.7 KISS FM (KELI) vs KIXY 94.7? Both from San Angelo
What's with HD2 and HD3 on 93.3 ? They play ~3 songs then long dead air? I hope they add the format that was on KLUV HD3(?) called CLASSIC TRAX. They played amazing deep cuts from 70s, 80s and 90s. I even bought a home HD radio because I loved the format so much. Two or three months later it was gone. Does anyone know how long the format was played?
I love some of the HD channels on radio stations. I don’t know what happened with regards to the HD channels you’re referring to, but too often stations flip formats and change where those formats land on their sister stations
@@Radiomaverick That deep cuts format has been the only HD channel that I've ever been excited about in the Dallas area. It's extremely frustrating that it's gone yet there are 4 HD channels that simulcast KRLD.
I don’t expect 97.1 the freak to stick around much longer either because the ratings are not spectacular for that station
