Hello there, nice explanation. I wonder if you know how to chance the light bulb from the heater control unit of the _Ford Fiesta 5_ , because I have no idea how to replace it. Cheers
I followed your instructions to the letter job done, After returning to a garage to pick up my 2006 mk6 after its MOT which fails the day before on account of badly worn brack pipe I also asked the girl at the reception if the mechanic if he could renew the front parking bulbs and tailgate break bulb which as also blown, No problem replyed the girl, Today however after paying £128 pounds includes MOT, She went on to say the tailgate unit needs replacement and couldn't replace the bulb, Puzzled I went straight to my local auto spares shop bought 2 w16w bulbs disconnected the unit which was perfectly good changed bulb works as it should do, In short the guy working on my car just couldn't be bothered, Wont be going there ever again!! Being a pensioner I feel ripped off!!😡
Most 'mechanics' aren't fit to service a walking stick and most garage owners have a fin on their back that would make a great white jealous. I recommend you go to a dedicated MoT centre where that's all they do. I use Lutterworth MoT centre. The guys there are car nuts (like me), very knowledgeable and give a "fair but firm" MoT. Actually you were. However, neither they nor you can know when the bulb failed - it could have failed only moments before they saw you). At the end of the day, they were protecting you. @@CycloneCyd Very true, I was worried mostly about squeezing or damaging the pipe. It was a little more fiddly than it looked, that's all. If I have to try again, I will try to use a better torch and avoid sunlight! A guy at a garage managed to help and replace this in a couple of minutes. Your advice was still good and practical.

Hi Jabulane, sorry but I can't give you a definitive answer. AFAIK the Figo is based on the mk5 Fiesta, which had a completely different third brake light to the mk6 (as in this video).
