  • IN this video i finally get round to fixing the worktop that I broke at the end of last year. I have used Milliput epoxy putty to fill the hole and used some acrylic paints to disguise the filler.
    Here is what I have used in this video :

    I remember watching the video after that pot jumped out of the cupboard and damaged your cooker lid.! What a great job you have done with Milliput. Like you, I'd be happy just knowing it was waterproof.

    I've done exactly the same a week ago, but mines in the work surface, so haven't got the luxury of being able to replace it. I'll get the kit, as I can use the tools for my model-making. Very helpful.

    Hi Dan, the job's done now and done very well I might add, but a couple of tips for you. When mixing the two parts together, you can add some chalk dust or baking powder to lighten the colour a wee bit. If you buy the brilliant white equivalent, you can even mix in a bit of food colouring or paint to match the surface you're working on. When smoothing it down it can get a bit crumbly. Gently work with a wet finger and you'll get a perfectly smooth and even finish. Milliput is great for oh so many repairs.

    Looks good, great job. The milliput is brilliant for fixing gaps in broken porcelain, I usually use the white and then paint.

    Milliput is great stuff, been using it for loads of things over the years.
    I heard once that it's used or was used to repair damage on oil rig legs! Not sure that's true but it does set pretty damn hard!

    Hi,
    The repair looks OK and a job well done.
    My concern is that a plastic bowl can cause that damage are the bailey work top's that flimsy a concern about the quality of the surface.
    👍

      @TheTrudgians  Год назад

      To be honest, all worktops in all makes of caravans are constructed in teh same way, a very thin skin, paper honeycomb in the centre. I was surprised a plastic soup bowl did this, but now I have a suitable repair method.

    Almost camouflaged there Dan 👍. Maybe another layer would have levelled it up and clean the over paint on the existing surface that can be seen at 9:20. That sculpting kit looked like dentistry tools 😁. All the best, Rob

      @TheTrudgians  Год назад +1

      Hi Rob, yeah - I think someone with a bit more skill than me could truly make this disappear! I’m not sure I’d want to visit a dentist with these tools. 😂😂😂
      Hope you are all keeping well.
      Dan.

    Hi Dan, Can I just ask. We have a 640 and have stored this winter. What we have noticed when visiting last week, is that the wall in the bedroon where the tv and light is. Seems to have warped. Have you noticed this? We have just 2 days ago had it serviced and there is no reports of damp. Any thoughts??

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  Год назад

      Hi, I have seen the delimitation of the wooden wall boards on a couple of caravans, but not experienced this personally. Might be worth a call with your dealership - and maybe a warranty claim.
