This was very helpful. I've always wanted to make a bag, with handle's for my mat, to take it to my sewing classes. I may sew a longer handle on, as well, so I can loop it over my headrest whilst traveling in my car. That way it's not in any direct sunlight. I know heat warp's mat's. Lovely direction's thank you so much.❤
Here in Australia here in Australia calico is much sturdier than muslin. Calico would be a good lining. Cheaper and yet sturdy. I like the bag but didn't quite catch what was used for the dividing section of the bag. Is it some sort of thick wadding?
@@SewingStudio Thank you for this answer because I couldn't make out what you called it and the closed captioning didn't help as they called it violin something or other LOL Katrina I am a newbie to quilting and found you @1 yr ago and I've learned alot. Thank you for all you do.
Very nice bag. Thanks for the video 😊
I love this project and the charm squares are very pretty!
I would have liked to see the step-by-step process on how you made that bag.
Very nice! Thanks for sharing! ❤

Beautiful tutorial, what is calico?
Hello Janice. Calico is a 100% cotton fabric that is unbleached and undyed - we believe in the US it is called Muslin.
I thought you would show where and how to add pockets
I just love bit thank you
Calico is thicker than muslin which in the UK is almost sheer.
How much lining fabric is needed including the fabric needed to cover the vyline. ?
What would be the equivalent stabilizer for in the lining to be used in the U.S.?
My question, too.

Hi Sue, Katrina used a stabiliser called Vilene to make the centre section sturdier.

I think calico is the British term for muslin.
Yes, that's correct!
That cutting mat will never fit into that bag!
Hello! This bag was made to fit a 24 x 18" cutting mat.
