Do you know where Paducah, Ky is? I love chickens altho I have none.. I am not on a farm. I never knew a rooster crowed so much.. silly me thought it was only in the early morning.. LOL
I've never been to Paducah, although I've wanted to go for several years. I want to go to the quilt museum and Eleanor Burns store. I learned how to quilt thanks to RUclips University, but can't manage to sit in 'that' position to work on sewing anymore. Is that where you hail from? Yeah, those persnickety roos crow all day long whenever the mood strikes them. I just got a new roo yesterday matter of fact! One of my friend's pullets turned out to be a cockerel and she didn't want the crowing. I was more than happy to take him off her hands. I love hearing a rooster crow. He just started learning to crow too..like a teenage boy's voice changing. lol
Sorry it took me so long but have been blocking all those haters that commented on your neck bone/gravy recipe.. man o man you had 2 pages of haters,, did you notice they were all black too? Go figure. No not from Paducah,, just kind of close to Padookie. I know what you mean about sewing, I used to sew so much, even sewed professionally and loved sewing but due to issues, I cannot sew any longer as you can appreciate. My grand parents raised me and she quilted, I remember her having the best quilters come to her?our house to quilt tops for her. She was a picky quilter and required those that helped her quilt her tops to make such small stitches and straight stitching too. I sure do miss her, miss my grandpa too.. a lot. She did teach me to crochet when I was 9, I remember sitting and doing chain stitches forever until I could get them all even. I taught myself to knit but always favored crocheting because it was what she did. I miss, and know you do also, cooking, cleaning house, gardening etc so much but also know that is in my past and just cannot do it anymore. Thank the Lord I have a super hubby who is my caregiver and never ever complains about it. Yes, we have a lot in common.. I wish I knew how to cook recipes that my Mamaw cooked but she never used a recipe or wrote anything down. So, I guess at things now. Buy dishes etc that look like hers when I was small. Just a memory I am trying to hang on to.. you know.
My poor husband is VERY handy, but when it comes to doing any of the domestic chores, ...well, let's just say I try to give clear, concise direction and sometime I can't quite find where that knowledge has hidden itself in the recesses of my brain or at least the words to convey it to him. Or there are times where I think "surely EVERYBODY knows how to boil water" (or the like) and that's just not the case. Poor hubs. He's in great shape for his age (68) but it's starting to wear on him. I was a city girl for 40 years, but always had an interest in the country thanks to my mother who was raised in the country until moving to the city as an adult. I wish she could have lived to see me now, she'd be amazed and love living here.
Haters gonna hate, nothing we can do about that. I just let God sort 'em out. All the activity (as long as I'm not violating any rules) actually is favorable towards my channel in regards to revenue. Let 'em hate on me - it generates more revenue! lol Some folks, for some irrational reason, are freaked out by the thought of eating certain parts of animals that aren't the "mainstream". I love chicken gizzards & hearts, but when I mention it to certain friends of mine, they freak out & would never dream of eating them. If we're going to take an animals life to eat it, we should eat every part of that animal and not let any of it go to waste. Is neck bones my favorite? No, not by a long shot, but it's inexpensive, saves me money and an animal has died and I don't want it's death to be in vain.
Since your rabbits don't like hay, perhaps they'll eat barley fodder.....Good Luck.
Cissy Foster I will definitely keep that in mind. I do want to try alfalfa hay 1st since it would be easier for us to get in this area. Thanks!
