    About a minute of analysis just to describe the reasons behind the turn one play of duress and which land to fetch. This I why I watch Reid's videos in preference to anyone else's. So much insight into how high level players think through decisions :-)

    Attacking with Ojutai around 38:40 seems wrong to me. Phoenix has to attack into Ojutai so it will be eaten for sure. However, attacking with Ojutai will allow opponent to: 1. play 4 atk creature and the phoenix will get in for 2 next turn. or 2. kill Ojutai the following turn since it's tapped. Situation 2 actually happened, and you said nothing you can do about that.

    As much as I enjoy watching control it always seems like Such a chore to get the W.

    Why wouldn't you play shambling vent and then awaken it? Your awaken land is already tapped, and nothing about it being a creature prevents you from transforming it into the 2/3 life link, making it a 6 power life link altogether...

      +shadowcatX2000 Leaves it more open to removal.

    • @seannissen2509
      @seannissen2509 8 лет назад

      +Vaerthelmn 52 Should also note that this consideration is especially important in this deck/game more so than normal since I think the only win cons he had left were lands or going for Jace emblem

      +Sean Nissen Exactly. Diversify your threats.

      At that point I do not believe he can beat a removal spell regardless (which point of fact, he doesn't), and when you are advantaged you can play around stuff and diversify your threats, when you are that far behind you have to make the best play and assume your opponent doesn't have anything.

      +shadowcatX2000 He didn't lose to removal. All the 2 for 1s and big creatures his opponent played not to mention stripping Reid's hand and Reid drawing blanks after that would have won regardless of that murderous cut.

    Game 3 why would you not play the vent first and then awaken? Then you have a 6/7 lifelink swinging.

    Maindeck hallowed moonlight... that's some interesting meta

      +Sean Nissen Yea but after he explained it it has more uses than I would have thought still silkwrap or immolating glare might be better choices still.

    • @seannissen2509
      @seannissen2509 8 лет назад

      Oh yeah I definitely know it has a bunch of uses. Just didn't realize the meta was such that it would justify mainboard. Either way certainly a spicy pick and never technically useless

    I got confused.. He casted grasp of darkness on his 3/3 hangarback, why would you negate it? It wouldn't crap out 1/1 thopters, right?

    • @alexgriggs7917
      @alexgriggs7917 8 лет назад

      +Kel Tsang It would, it would be a -1/-1 with 4 +1/+1 counters on it. An effect liek grasp of darkness doesn't remove counters.

      +Alex Griggs ah understood. Tjopter generations are based on counters. Thanks
