Im surprised no ones mentioned that the Clever impersonator does not get the reclamation sages etb trigger for the second vault destruction, although the judge ruled in favor of it. Also the aetherspouts ruling in turtenwalds match against sigrist was incorrect as well
Clever Impersonator enters the battlefield as the target you chooses, all clones gain ETB triggers, thats why they are good. Also if you're speaking of when Owen aetherspouted and Mike Sigrist had to tell him what went on top or bottom is correct. They do not return to his hand so it is revealed which side they go to, top or bottom that is.
Amman Sandhu fair enough for the impersonator. The aetherspouts ruling is still completely extraneous to the card text itself as well as the gatherer rulings
Starting at 18:40 when Owen's turn ends, Masashi draws his Yavimaya Coast for his turn, revealing the top card of his library as Island due to Courser, then Owen activates his Perilous Vault during Masashi's draw phase clearing the board, which would mean the Island should have been turned face down back on top of his library, the announcers even mention this; however instead of turning it face down, he draws the Island. He drew two cards. In the end it didn't make a difference, but not good.
SkepticalAaron I watched it so many times and it looked like he drew two cards and THEN I watched it after your explanation and you are 100% correct. Owen passed his turn so quickly that I didn't see it right lol He drew it on the next turn. BAM! Aaron for the win!
I love how Owen took a strategic warning and waited to call Oiso on his playing two lands so Oiso had to attack. Owen just broke the rules to catch somebody breaking the rules and taking the punishment. Next level play.
"I also love all the synergies that the Team ChannelFireball Pantheon deck has with Pearl Lake Ancient." Yes, Zac Hill, having scrylands and life gain lands that can be bounced with Pearl Lake Ancient is indeed synergy. But that's just rudimentary deckbuilding. The only dual lands available in UB are those very lands, so of course the deck is going to have them. Venerating the CFB Pantheon for including that interaction is just stupid.
Why did owen get a warning for failure to maintain game state? He pointed it out immediately... Why was he warned for that. Unless I missed something and both warnings were issued to masashi
He wanted to be able to use mana from nykthos to pump before playing another nykthos and sacrificing the tapped one (which it turned out he couldn't do)
I feel like Osio could have won game one. 16:00 instead of using the 5 mana he got from the nykthos to pump both his creatures he could have used all of it on nylea, then used Kioras Follower to untap the nykthos and double pump nylea again. From there Owen would have been forced to block with the pearl lake ancient.
You can use the lands to generate mana before bouncing them with the ancient, since mana abilities don't use the stack. This is commonly known as floating mana. Before the mana pool is then emptied at the end of the phase, he has the 3 mana floating and the 6 lands he still has, therefore more than enough to flash the pearl lake ancient back in.
I don't mind BDM, Beuhler and Hagon as much as Zac Hill and Sutcliffe, but yeah, most anyone on the scg commentary team blows these guys out of the water
***** Rich Hagon is especially awkward with his crazy brit accent. Holy jesus, every time I hear his voice I just want to hand him a cup of earl grey tea just to have him shut up.
Zach is by far my favorite commentator!
Especially awesome when paired with Marshall.

He didn't draw two cards. He drew the coast, revealed the island, vault was popped, he played the coast and passed turn, next turn he drew the island.

he didnt break any rules

both were towards masashi, neither to owen.
yay pearl lake ancient $$ going up
my only foil mythic in 3 boxes
Why did Oiso pump before combat? That just doesn't make any sense to me (game 1).
He wanted to be able to use mana from nykthos to pump before playing another nykthos and sacrificing the tapped one (which it turned out he couldn't do)
Ah right, that makes sense. Thanks.
anyone got the decklist of Owen Turtenwald?
why didnt owen on game 1 activate the vault while the enter the battlefield activation of impersonator?
He only had 1 mana up, Perilous Vault takes 5 to activate
Where can I find Oiso's decklist?
Check channel fireballs website there was a couple lists I saw on there
Guys, guys, what would Magic be without a geek commentator?!

that play would have been horrible, he could have just bounced his ancient after blocks, nylea does not grant herself trample
Also nylea can't pump herself
brandon Russell Why not?
JoeRo55 I meant she doesn't' have trample
Masashi was clearly embarrassed. It was an honest mistake
OISO. Not Osio.
*Oizo
how the fuck owen cast the pearl lake ancient back with only 6 mana availabe after he bounce it

Michael Schlegel Oh ok, thanks for the explanation ^^
Think hard ;-)
Zac Hill has to be the most annoying commentator ever... bring in Rich Hagon, BDM or LSV for fuck sakes
you mean you aren't leaving 5 mana open to cast jace's ingenuity after you've just resolved 2 digs
its obviously ingenuity
I don't mind BDM, Beuhler and Hagon as much as Zac Hill and Sutcliffe, but yeah, most anyone on the scg commentary team blows these guys out of the water

Amen. So many people love that guy, but his voice is like shoving a steak knife into my ear drum. it really ruins all of these videos for me
