After learning Korean for around 2-3 years on/off, I'm proud to say I understood pretty much the entire conversation. I didn't understand all sentences perfectly but could fill in the gaps where I couldn't understand due to them speaking slightly too fast. I'm so happy!! all the hard work is finally paying off xx

Me too! I understood almost everything just bc i watched too many dramas hahaha for me it's been like 7 years watching then (and a few more years with kpop). Now i can watch some of them without really paying attention in the subtitle.
What really helped me was watching korean yt channels (minidramas or just vlogs, both works). Music didn't really help for me bc i didn't pay attencion to the letter.
Wow.. Started with Level 1 and reached Level 10 in a single go, without taking Korean classes yet! This makes me happy 😁 9 years of religious drama watching finally is showing some results 😀 Thanks for the listening tests TTMIK 🙏

민주: 응, 진호야. 나 어제 일이 너무 늦게 끝나서 못 갔어. 집에 오니까 거의 12시더라.
진호: 너는 일하고 결혼했니? 왜 그렇게 일 복이 많아?
민주: 어휴. 그러게. 일이 안 줄어드네. 어제 동창회는 어땠어?
진호: 재미있었어. 저녁 먹고 술 한잔하러 우리 집에 왔었어.
민주: 정말? 애들 많이 왔어?
진호: 너 빼고 거의 다 왔어. 지선이며 승준이며… 반가운 얼굴들 많더라.
민주: 뭐? 승준이도 왔어? 아, 승준이 올 줄 알았으면 나도 갔을 텐데…
진호: 뭐야? 일 때문에 못 왔다면서?
민주: 아니, 그만큼 승준이가 보고 싶다는 말이지. 승준이 어때? 여전히 멋있어?
진호: 승준이 아저씨 다 됐어. 학교 다닐 때보다 살이 많이 쪄서인지 못 알아보겠더라.
민주: 정말?
진호: 응. 근데 지금 의류 회사 대표 됐대. 학교 졸업하자마자 시작해서 지금은 사업이 꽤 커졌나 봐.
민주: 진짜? 말도 안 돼! 승준이가 회사 대표가 되다니 정말 말문이 막힌다.
진호: 그렇지? 근데 내내 자기 사업 자랑만 하고, 엄청 거만하더라고.
민주: 하하. 정말? 승준이가 학교 다닐 때도 그런 면이 없지 않아 있었지. 지연이는 안 왔어?
진호: 지연이 요즘 엄청 바쁠걸? SNS에서 봤는데, 얼마 전에 가게를 하나 냈나 봐. 그게 지금 엄청 잘되고 있더라고. 동창회 한다고 연락했는데 전화도 안 받았대.
민주: 정말? 얼마나 바쁘면 연락도 안 돼? 아… 나도 가게나 차릴걸...
진호: 왜? 남이 잘된다고 하니까 부러워?
민주: 부럽다기보다 후회돼. 남들은 사업이며 결혼이며 다 자기가 하고 싶은 거 하면서 잘 살고 있는 것 같은데 나는 그동안 뭐 했나 싶어. 성공은커녕 도전도 제대로 못 해 본 것 같아.
진호: 무슨 소리야. 너도 지금 충분히 잘하고 있어. 하나부터 열까지 다 그렇게 남들하고 비교하면 누구나 그런 생각이 들기 마련이지!
민주: 그런가?
진호: 그럼! 이제 다른 애들 얘기 그만해야겠다. 다음 동창회 때는 무슨 수를 써서라도 꼭 나와. 애들이 너 보고 싶다고 했어.

Feeling proud to have understood all 10 levels thanks to the numerous K-dramas, Kpop & K-movies I've watched since around 6-7 years. Love these unique listening tests
Ive been learning 3 years now and Im super happy to be at a point where I can understand literally everything except new vocabulary that I've never learned before. If anyone is seriously learning don't forget to learn as many words as you can about several topics :))

can't believe I actually understood everything, every grammar point, and almost every word, I didn't just understand one word but after keeping listening to the dialogue I understood it without searching for it, uau!!!!!!!

실제 한국인들은 이 속도의 1.25배 정도 하면 맞을 것 같고, 한국인들은 발음이 이것보다 부정확합니다. 약간 웅얼웅얼 말하는 사람도 있구요
어떤 언어 테스트의 최종 단계라도 외국인을 위한 자료는 발음를 정확하게 할 필요가 있습니다

I just watched all the Korean listening videos and I can understand it all on what there saying. It sounds familiar on my subconscious side.....
The guy friend is really a good friend. Can understand about 60% ahh I really need to brush up my Korean.

I gotta say I'm kinda proud that I could understand the whole conversation. There were a couple of words that I could not fully grasp but that didn't make me lose the context of the conversation. I feel happy, I'm gonna continue studying to keep improving mys skills!
I understood quite a good part of it, even though I just finished level 6, but I like to listen to the 이야기 lessons every day, so I think that helped

2. The boys asking how the school going?

About 90-95% understanding without checking out the transcript. But I'm not sure I could replace some of these grammatical points if I had to have a similar conversation.

the fact that i understood the whole concept of this conversation without ever taking lessons thanks to kpop n kdramas lets me know id be ok if i was ever lost n alone in korea
Why can i understand 99% of this thing but can barely speak coherent sentences 😂😭 I know why, i dont practise speaking nearly as much as i do listening 😓

why did I get so connected to the characters throughout the audio?

I'm in level 3 although I started learning last year but wasn't studying much bc of lack of time and bc I feel like I already know what I'm studying in level 3... I came here just out of curiosity and found out I can understand like 75% of this... Maybe I should have taken the level test
it’s important to know the foundation really well though! listening/reading skill is very different than speaking/writing skill, so even if you understand most of this, you may not be able to use these words and grammar patterns in output. (that’s my issue lol)
I have diligently studied TTMIK lessons everyday from Level 1 to Level 10 for almost a year now( I practise writing, reading, speaking, listening). But until now I still cannot understand Korean conversations fluently. The sentences are way too long in the lessons and not usually used in daily conversations.

Brushing up on grammar i don't use often etc and continue learning more vocab through korean books, yt videos, vlogs, shows etc. And constantly tlking to koreans and befriending them to help Sharpen my skills

@@zaara06 it does make sense. Keep listening to real conversations, to get used to the sound of speaking korean.

@@Bob-wr1md well I meant compared to the level 1 listening text, it's much more complex and it's obviously because I still have to do all the levels till the 10th one to perfectly understand... And yes I do listen to Korean conversations and have watched quite a lot of kdramas so korean sounds familiar to me but I still cannot understand it properly 😁 tysm for your tip❤️
@@zaara06 well, i just had this mentality to not listen to real conversations, because it's above my level anyway.
But now i regret it, and i wish i started earlier.
Of course also listen to the beginner stuff! That's way more helpful than the real time spoken korean for beginners.
Just wanted to share that it's not a bad idea to listen to normal korean regularly :)

Can someone tell me the equivalent of TTMIK levels to TOPIK or the standard levels? Does level 10 equal an advanced one? or just upper-intermediate? Thank you.
sorry this is an old comment, but just from listening to this video i would guess the level would be topik 3. however i’m not sure how much ttmik focused on writing, and there’s a writing section on topik.
advanced topik (5&6) is quite professional and technical. for example if you passed topik 5, you shouldn’t have too many problems completing university coursework in korean. topik 6 is very very fluent (many learners just aim for level 5 as an end goal)

not that it matters much, but i wouldn’t call this level “advanced”,, i’m in ehwa level 3-2 out of 6 and i could understand pretty much everything,, i think most would call this level intermediate (this sounds like topik 2 or 3)

Hi TTMIK. Is the Basic membership have time limit? I haven't finish until Level 10. Now, when I access it again, i cant access to the lesson anymore. It directly go to MY ACCOUNT, SHIPPING ADDRESS etc. I left at Level 6 .. huhu i can't continye learning anymore. I hope u notice
