    No subs: I understood some words and vaguely picked up the topics as the conversation went on. The general meaning of questions were surprisingly easy to undestand. Longer sentences were the most difficult because I couldn't keep up with the speed at all :D
    With Kor. subs: Still couldn't make out a lot of it but recognized more words that I didn't pick up at the first listen. With a decent bit of grammar knowledge at least the structure of the sentences were clear most of the time and I could puzzle the meaning together for myself more easily.
    Kor. and Eng. subs: Of course it was all understandable then but comparing it with the translation I put together in my head I realized I'm still missing a lot. Vocabulary is always topic-dependant so I wasn't too bothered by that but sentence patterns are important to know so I wrote that down. Hopefully next time I can recognize more (there is definitely more coming, right? ;) )

    • @Niena97
      @Niena97 4 года назад +9

      After rewatching the parts with eng subs, I realised I understand 50% of the words used. So my vocabulary is still weak. I understood the sentences structure because I did a lot of writing exercises. Still, I haven’t done listening practice before so this is a good start. I now know I’m weak at listening. If I continuously do this I think I can converse naturally soon!

    I get a hard time understanding the conversation without subs altho I get the flow of the conversation but it takes time for me to grasp the its context. Hangul subs helped me a lot and I'm super relieved since I'm already able to understand the whole convo and when Eng subs popped out, I was able to confirm that my understanding prior to that was right :)

    I was just looking at videos because I felt like I was in a bit of a slump, stuck between being too comfortable for beginner but not quite comfortable enough for intermediate. However, this video felt SO self gratifying. I'm not too hard on myself about the long sentences that kind of sent me for a loop because I didn't really expect to get them 100% but I was ridiculously surprised how much I was able to decipher before the video progressed to English subtitles. If I had to rate the grasp I had throughout this video, I'd give myself 80% - the other 20% accounting for vocabulary I didn't recognize and the aforementioned longer sentences whose grammar caught me slipping. I understood the context and the progression of the conversation almost completely and I feel so proud of myself right now
