Hi, I've got the a6300. It came with 18-135 zoom and I bought a 30mm sigma 1.4 for low light. Then I traded the zoom added some £ and got the sony 85mm 1.8. Absolutely banger combo.
Great video. My first lens for my a6000 was a 18135 from Sony. There is nothing particular good about that (tbh it is a very slow lens), but i really like having the ability to zoom far with 135mm focal length.
i ordered yesterday a6000 with sigma 30mm 1.4 as my first real photo camera…. :) after long long browsing and searching and thinking … :-D cant wait to try it and learn!
My first lenses were the old kit lens (18-55 mm which came with the Nex-5) and the old silver 18-200 mm. This was a great combo to start with because it covered a huge focal range and offered the choice of a light casual use lens and an all in one lens with long range. As a new photographer this was great because it allowed me to see what focal lengths I tended to use on trips, during indoor events, museums, galleries etc. and they allowed me to understand the settings required for various scenarios as well as the limitations of certain types of lenses and apertures. As time went on I expanded on this base with experience and bought other lenses (all Sony) as and when needed for a specific purpose e.g. the 18-105mm F4 for video, the 15mm f1.4 for low light shots, the 16-55 f2.8 for general use etc. In the meantime also upgraded my cameras from time to time from the NEX-5 to the a6000, then a6300, now a6700. I am a big fan of the "all in one" 18-200 to this day because of its range (especially with clear image zoom) and versatility, especially on trips where carrying this one lens plus the 15mm f1.4 prime lens covers almost every need for my tourist shots. I have many more premium lenses now but the 18-200 still gets a lot of use even after over 10 years. Unless you know right away what type of photos you want to take I think versatility is the best thing to start with.
As an a6000 user whom started with its kit lens and then got sony 35 f1.8 a couple months after, if i was to go back and be lucky enough and can have first 2 lenses (budgetwise), i would go for tamron 11-20 f2.8 and a good ole sigma 56 f1.4 or sony 35 f1.8. My frustration with my own a6000 is getting the wide angle shot that i would like to have. And yeah the 56mm/35mm lens is just awesome focal length for street portraiture. So yeah, you guys can go on scroll now haha a
I have the a6400 with the sigma 16mm abd I just bought the 50mm OSS and I am super satisfied with the pictures and the videos that it produces. I really like the bokeh.
Yeah it's awesome to have the OSS for the videos. If you remain strong with the APS-C and don't want to upgrade to full frame, then this combo is amazing.
My first lens for a6000 was Sigma 16mm. Why? It is because the sharpest lens for a6000 and if technically speaking, it has large aperture so that I can use it for night photography as well and great for landscapes and even for portraits. Portraits taken by 16mm is more like cinematic I think :)
I bought a7Ⅲ lens kit Therefore I bought second lens 【TAMRON 70-300mm F/4.5 - 6.3 Di III RXD】 This is very good!I take bullet train🚅(shinkansen)to use it! I'm sorry for my poor English. It was a very good video!
I bought the Sony 50mm f1.8 OSS as my first prime for the a5000 and it was a total failure. Why? Because indoors it's too tight, and for casual shooting of friends and family, it's too tight as well. Like when being in the park or city, you have to stop all walking activity, gain some distance to your subjects and take the pic. Killing the mood and dynamic of the situation in an instant. I fortunately sold it without a loss after half a year and only a dozen pics, and bought the Sony 35mm f1.8 instead. And THAT lens (50mm FF equivalent) really brought me forward. So much fun to use. So many great memorable pictures taken. So this Sony 35mm, or the Sigma 30mm f1.4, I would recommend much, much more as a first prime. Once I became more secure with the 35mm, I added the Sigma 56mm to my collection and learned to handle that. But for a beginner, a 50mm / 56mm might be buzzkill. And we can't afford to loose people in the crop mirrorless market ;)
Awesome video as always! Fantastic material, and far too few people talk about the benefits of purchasing full frame glass for APS-C in world of Sony! Yes you will pay more if you want the fancy lenses, but that lens can outgrow the APS-C and switching to Full Frame will be much less painful. I did experience the pain of switching from Sony APS-C to Lumix Full Frame and it was painful! 😢
Thanks brother, I totally agree. Half of my lenses are for Full Frame although I only own a6000 and a6400. The 85mm f1.8 FE is the most used one even beating aps-c lenses. I think the problem is that people lack the long term planning and I get it, its really hard to predict where you gonna be down the line, not everyone can be so committed to this costly hobby 😁
@@TomsJurjaks Very true! When you do the tests between all the 50mm lenses, please take a look how brighter is the full frame lenses. The f-stop as we know on lens is calculated by dividing the focal length with entrance pupil diameter. Full frame lenses are made with larger sensor in mind and therefore they need a larger entrance pupil diameter. While this does not help with DoF or FoV, it does help with the low light performance. And another benefit is that there are little if any vignetting with Full Frame lenses on APS-C. Can't wait for the 50mm shootout!

My first lens for my a6400 (after the kit lens) is Sigma 30mm f1.4 Why? Because I could get it almost unused for half of the price and 30mm is perfect for pretty much everything (street photography, videos, landscape, ...). My second is Sigma 16mm f1.4 and that one I bough used but found a really great deal so I was happy. 16mm is perfect for videos, perfect to warp the retrospective and for street photography/architecture this lens is a beast + it's ultra sharp. My next buy will be Sigma 56mm f1.4 because its awesome for portraits and Sony FE 50mm f1.8 because on apsc it give you pretty much 85mm feel, so you can get a closer shots of people on streets and be on safe distance from them. I consider Sony FE 85mm f1.8 to have 100mm look and feel, but I need to consider this one as it is 500+EUR investment.

That is very smart move. For many years I was investing in Full Frame lenses and it paid off. If you know you will upgrade some day - do it. Very wise of you to think what will you need in future.
I Got The 50mm F1.8 FE With A Sony A6000 Was Gonna Get A Sigma 30mm F.1.4 Bu The Camera Came With A 20mm F2.8 Sony Lens So Didn't See The Need For The Sigma and I'll Be Upgrading To Full-Frame Next Year So The 50mm Was A Better Option For Me
Then it really looks like cards are playing out well for you. Thats one of the main reasons I recommend this cheap FE lens - upgrading is gonna be less painful. What are you getting btw? A7IV?
I did the review on Viltrox 23mm f1.4 - really cool lens, but don't you think Sigma is still sharper and better build quality (hence also more expensive).

@@TomsJurjaks you have a point there. I own this lens and what I love about it is it’s incredibly sharp images and fast auto-focus. @@TomsJurjaks you have a point there. I own this lens and what I love about it is it’s incredibly sharp images and fast auto-focus. And last but not least - the form factor, it’s small, light and beautifully designed. I didn’t mind paying the $800 for it. My only gripe is that’s it’s f2.5. 🤨. I would have been more than happy to pay $200 more if they had made it a f1.8.
Makes perfect sense and I get why you love it @@Easycook_withSK there is this Sigma I lineup (premium prime lenses) they are with f2 and is also extremely small. Have you seen them?
And last but not least, I think maybe Samyang could be something you are interested in? I think they even have 50mm f1.4. affordable but not as small as Sony G
@@TomsJurjaks I have the sigma 65mm f2. I had the 24mm f2 as well but returned it as my partner gifted me the Sony 20mm f1.8g
The 65mm is a beauty in - performance and looks
the first lens as per my opinion should be 35mm. its a very versatile focal length.
But its much more expensive than the 50mm :/
Which lens would you undoubtedly recommend for street/urban photography?
Sigma 56mm f1.4 for APS-C cameras but Sony 85mm f1.8 for full frame. Its is quite zoomed in, but thats what I like the most. I believe most people would go with something much wider like 24 or 35mm.
Make a video on DJi Ronin Glimbal
Will film next week 😎
Dude i love your video
Thanks for your support buddy!
that's what i wanted to say
U r amazing😍😍😍
Thanks so much buddy 🙏
On APS-C it’s a 75 mm not 85 mm
76.5mm to be very accurate. I mentioned that on the video specifically highlighting it with the asterisk* :)
@@TomsJurjaks My bad, I was doing chores while listening to the video :-)
Get the Tamron 18-300mm and get the TTArtisan 27mm f2.8. You'll not get more bag for your bucks.
Hii 😁😁😁😁😁
