    I love this scene so much. When Anne Marie hugs Charlie and tells him she'll miss him and he chokes up and tells her he'll miss her too... MAN. Just shows how much Charlie changed when he met Anne Marie. He went from being a selfish bad dog to really genuinely caring for her and sacrificing his life for her. That's redemption. I love this movie.

    I just adored Charlie as a kid and now I realize just how dark he was. This is a bittersweet ending and those usually don't agree with me. I watched this for the first time not long after my first dog, Alvin, a huge yellow lab died.

    I think one of the most heartbreaking scenes in this is Itchy's face at the beginning of the video. He is clearly mourning for Charlie and his face just screams heartbreak to me. He's been through so much and was so loyal to him...and Charlie didn't even really say good-bye! That alone brings a lump to my throat. :'(

      +Christopher Jordan Because the world is cruel sometimes. And it has cruel people. But is not FULL of cruel people. Those people are but a shadow, a jealously cursing the beauty of what hey never will be and desire only to destroy what reminds them of their own ugliness. In the ends, their story's ending is like the rest of it, hollow and normally forgotten. Their names never even mentioned and if so, in disgust and swiftly ignored.
      But Judith will not be forgotten. To me, you and many, many others, she was a wonderfully talented child that made so many childhoods richer, just with the sound of her voice. And despite her tragedy, she was still able to make this world a little bit more beautiful while she was here. For people like Judith, death isn't the end. I'm not talking about heaven, or the afterlife or any of that. If it makes you feel better, by all mines, you hang onto that belief, its not my place to tell you what's what in that department. What I'm talking about, his her memory. For memory is the key to a persons most important task: making a legacy. And Judith left one, that made my childhood, will make my children's childhood and many others filled with wonder and joy. And she will not, must not, shall not and WILL NOT be forgotten. As long as one person is left to experience the beauty of Judith's work, she will never die. She will live on ,in that purest of senses. In our hearts.

      ***** I wonder that too when I think about the tragic end to this wonderfully talented actress. Her mother too was a victim of domestic violence. Her father threatened her and her mother with death if they should leave him. The mother did want to leave, but at the same time didn't want to ruin her child's career and wanted to support her in her career as an actress. Judith's half sister (on her fathers side) said that her father was abusive to the point that sometimes when she (the half sister) would visit, Judith would cling to her most of the time not wanting to leave. The half sister believed her father go jealous over Judith's career and was afraid of being left alone, which may explain his angry outbursts in this fashion. She tried to encourage Judith's mother (Eva) to leave, despite having some places to go, she kept worrying about her daughters career being ruined. If this was happening today, there is a good chance this could have been avoided and she be alive still. Or if someone back then had intervened sooner, someone could have saved Judith and her mother :(.

      Yeah Don Bluth is kind of bad luck. If he's not suffering with bankruptcies, financial problem of some sort with his movies, or just overall having trouble making them like how doing live-action bit in Rock-a-Doodle traumatized him or having to hastily redo a lot of the Pebble and the Penguin, his actor die very, very sadly.

    I was born in the mid 80's and All Dogs Go To Heaven was one of my absolute favorite movies as a kid. Even though it was just a cartoon, I had a real crush on Anne-Marie. It was only 2 or 3 years ago that I first learned of Judith's murder. I was looking up All Dogs Go To Heaven on Wikipedia and was curious about the girl who had voiced Anne-Marie and what she was now doing with her life. I saw Judith's name under cast and clicked it. When I read that Judith was murdered, I instantly realized she had been dead all the years I had been watching. The grief I felt can't be put into words. I swear the heart of my inner-child ripped right in two. R.I.P. Judith :(

      ***** Don Bluth did admit that had she lived, he would've accepted Judith Barsi in any of his future productions. Not to mention her "Jaws: The Revenge" costar Michael Caine (who would later become Alfred Pennyworth in The Dark Knight trilogy), had he known about this abuse as well, it would've been more heartfelt and courteous of him to help Judith and her mother out by giving them refuge away from the monster that was her father.

    • @mckenzieeby6971
      @mckenzieeby6971 8 лет назад

      +twist58 It's possible that her mother, Maria, did try telling them... but nobody believed her with them seeing her as "crazy Maria". Or at least that's what her older half sister and maternal uncle have said in regards to why. I've tried finding out if Don had known about Judith's abuse and I've found nothing other than what you've said and that he left the studio for a week when it happened. I don't know if Caine would actually would've done that, but yet I don't know about him personality wise to say he's a jerk and would've just really not wanting to deal with someone else's kid or if he's nice and would adopt Judith and maybe her mom too if he was cool with her.
      I hope Don Bluth writes some sort of biography or mentions at some point before his death, his time with and knowledge of Judith.

    I am SICK and TIRED of people always having to mention the fate of Judith every time I watch a scene from this or "The Land Before Time!!!" It's always: "Murder" this and "Sad Fate" That!!! If I starred in a movie and got killed, and suddenly people only remember me for how I died, it would be a huge slap in the face!!! Can we please just enjoy these movies in peace not always have to bring up the bad stuff?! It is an insult to her and the contribution she gave!!

      You're right. We shouldn't be mourning the deaths of the people who made our childhoods. We should be appreciating what they did for us when we were kids. When I learned James Horner was dead I was sad and read comments on his songs about it but then one day I realized I should be doing what I said above.

    What makes this ending sad, yet happy is that Charlie redeemed himself in the end, and was welcomed back into heaven.

    I miss my dog, Dewey every day..he got hit by a car when he was only 6 years old..he still had a lot of life left in him. He was a Brittany Spaniel, and a wonderful dog. I love and miss you every day

    Are they implying that Charlie managed to break out of hell too? It would not be too surprising since he would be the first dog in hell. In the sequel, Carface is the 2nd dog to go to hell, and he breaks out as well.
