Hello Leland. Been watching you ever since this pandemic hit. I’m 30 years old and played bass from 12-20 years old.
Ever since I have been watching you on a daily basis, you have reignited my passion for bass, and I have bought one! It’s been an absolute pleasure watching and listening to you. Thank you for all you do.

Hey Mr. Sklar. Never feel bad about not wanting to bring your work home with you. I'm a teacher, and if I didn't set boundaries on bringing work home, it would never stop, and I would be crazier than I already am. 8) It's never to late to get into something new, so if you want to get set up, I'm sure there are many, MANY talented experts in your field who would want to help you, just so you can spread the love even more.

The track on the album was a re-record - bowie wanted to use this version (which was used in a movie and released as a single) but MCA refused to grant EMI the rights to the track. So David Bowie had to re-record it with a different line up. the new line up was pretty good though, featured guitar from Stevie Ray Vaughan. Classic music industry BS. So this version is out there as a single and on a soundtrack - the version you might know is from the album though, Let's Dance.

One of my all time favorite Bowie tracks. And used to incredible effect in Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds.

Cat People is one of my favorites. I love Bowie's wavering voice on this version. The crossover in the multiple versions of the song with the combination of Bowie, Giorgio, Nile Rodgers, and Stevie Ray Vaughan is magic. I wish they were all on the same version of the song, but then we might not have either version that does exist.

Thank You, I've been listening to and watching you for years. Getting to know you through your RUclips channel is great. If you write a book I'll be the first to buy it. My best to you and your family through these strange days.

I saw him live once. 1998? in Ballard, Washington. Near the famous Ballard locks. A small Tav-Bar with a dance floor. I was surprised we got in I don't recall the group backing him but they all dressed in black. Beatnick style. Santa, thanks for the memory flashback. Thanks for your channel. Take care and stay safe.

I love when you mention players that I recognize from years back...Giorgio Moroder is one of those names! And...YOU GOT TO PLAY WITH BOWIE!!! So cool!! My ex was a huge fan in his youth, and so he introduced me to Bowie (Fripp & Eno, among others), while I introduced him to Joni, Jackson, Fogelberg, etc. I always loved this song...so fun to sing the back-up parts. Thanks for sharing this one, Leland...and it's yet another musical link I have with you! 🧡

Happy Birthday Lee! Hope you're having a fun day. Thank you for sharing your experience, wisdom and humor. You've inspired me to get back on the drums after a 4 year hiatus due to my dad's passing, which pulled my world out from under me. I've gotten my depression in check and am excited about music and playing again. Love your channel and your stance to resist the haters and RUclips police. Also, Happy Belated Birthday to Waddy!
