This might be an unpopular opinion, but the low difficulty was actually a plus for me. I'm not very skilled or experienced at games of this genre, but the story and art appealed to me so much I just wanted it anyway. Now if it would've been a very hard game, that might've led to a very frustrating time, but with how it was, i was able to get through it (with a little help of my more-skilled girlfriend) without getting stuck or being out of my league all that much. Combined with its short length, it made for a wonderful sweet experience to spend a cozy winter weekend inside on.

Katha-chan yeah I’m actually trying to get good at platformers and I knew this one was easy I think soon I’m doing Ori and the something something and then after that I want hollow knight(that’s a platformer right??? Idk I just saw the characters in animations and I like them)

Urgghhh...I love the art on this game. It's so easy on the eyes. I am just going to buy this game for the visuals.
I don't think you'll be disappointed. It is an enjoyable game, just a little too easy.

I bought it digitally and am a little sad that I got it. Since the game is so short indeed and the flaws in gameplay can be frustrating. I would have rather watched a gameplay to experience the story or get a physical to have something left as a trophy. There's no re-playability

I love the artwork in this game. It’s worth it just for that. I imagine it’s not too terribly difficult or A game but that’s alright with me. It’s like being part of a fairy tale. I can’t wait to pick it up.

It's not the worst thing to have an easy game now and then to relax with, but I wouldn't have minded a bit more challenge. The artwork really is incredible though and sucks you in!

@@SwitchUpYt it was probably heavy inspiration as team ICO are literally the only people who understands how to do escort mission correctly without feeling like a chore. modern game still understand how to do it correctly they either make them invisible for enemies or invincible. Bioshock infinite and Last of Us is a great example for the point i made above.
Yes, many games muck up the escort mission making them one of the more hated types of quests in gaming haha. Luckily, this one felt just fine.

Definitely interesting, I personally wouldn't purchase it for myself. I have younger nieces that would enjoy it for sure, but even then they would probably want dubbed voices.

I agree, if the final level was more like the middle of the game and it continued to go from there, it would have been a much better score in the gameplay department. Still, it is a very enjoyable experience!

Off topic..Did you guys ever do "Crossing Souls"? I've nearly finished it (I think) and it's a real treat.
It really does look beautiful! Crossing Souls is currently on my backlog, but one I want to get around to for sure.
@@jglover8 it was on sale last week for 50% off so I picked it up then. Not massively challenging, but I found it to be one of those that leaves you with a smile on your face. Pixel art, dialogue and nostalgia overload make it a sweet 8-9 hour experience. Some great Easter eggs too! You're in for a treat.

@@jglover8 just finished it today. So, the last couple of bosses are slightly irritating (mainly due to dialogue being repeated each time you bollocks it up), but that ending man! Hot damn! Personally I loved it, very different.
the file size on the ps4 version is 2.51GB
did they removed something from the switch version? or I believe it's just compressed to lower the size of the file.
I cannot answer for sure, but possibly smaller due to the Switch's resolution limitations?

I don't really know, games like these are not that demanding even for something like the ps2, so I assume the switch can easily runs it at the same level of resolution as the ps4.
I heard that Nintendo of Japan knows some methods of compression. Maybe that's why. the example are Mario's and Zelda's games
I love this story! It’s like a modern day little mermaid 🧜♀️ Not a huge ‘escorting’ gameplay fan tho, but dang they’re so cute!
I'm with you, not an escort fan, but it actually works very well here. Wish it was more challenging, but it does not feel like most escort type gameplay at all. Maybe the biggest thing is that you can leave him behind and he won't just walk into oncoming traffic like in every other game.

I havent played this game yet, but Im getting some Dokuro vibes from it. Its a game where a skeleton boy can turn into a prince to help a princess escape.
This game looks very cute
I would consider buying this game if the price was lower and I mean like 10 dollars or less

Fudge i admit i only looked cause it looked to cute and a little like old fairytales on the background i thought of little magic with cuteness in it but its great. bored me a little in the start(short lvls) and end(long lvls).no lies here
Personally I LOVED the final levels, but yes they are a fair bit longer than the rest of the levels in the game.

@@jglover8 not had much chance with the Switch version yet, but I'm liking it so far. Great to be able to play in bed with a cuppa! I got the Rise & Fall expansion for PC version, not sure how I feel about the extra mechanics yet!
Switch version is excellent so far though, very easy to use, controls are simple, SwitchUp review was spot on with this one. First 150 turns are great (I usually restart before I get further than that in a Civ game haha)
By the way, this game cost 70-ish USD on Japan. I loved the game but I hated the pricing. Because of it, it impacted the review score over there. What a shame.

I made the mistake not to look it up after u said there wasnt a standard version so i got it digital and i got pissed when i randomly found it on the eshop... not pissed at u, but at myself lol

The infographic had the euros and pounds, so Mark must have looked those up. Normally I try to provide it as part of my review, but was struggling to find the other prices outside my region for this particular game. Unfortunately, it's 19.99 across the board. For some reason NIS America just ignores exchange rates.
I was a joke mate being a UK guy I naturally thought the good old pound would be first followed by those younger currencies lol

I usually try not to give anything outside of the intro away in these kinds of reviews, and while this segment did go a bit long looking back, it did not give away anything that wasn't at the immediate beginning of the game. All that I mentioned in the story section happens before you are even playing.

This would have been a great 10 dollar game. For 20 bucks it's really not worth the money.
Personally I think it does enough to warrant the $20 but just barely. At $10 would be really great value.

The game was an cute art style, but its animation and details seen to have a lack of polish, i find it very funny how the loading screen has a better animation than the character sprites.
About the lack of detail, i mean that the characters eyes don't focus on whatever their doing, they just remain still, it makes the characters look kinda derpy/souless.
The gameplay is ok, this game is not focused on that, but the gameplay works, the problem is that they could have made better/harder puzzles with the tolls that they provided to the player; i would remove the "combat" and focus on puzzles, but for the sake of the narrative, the objetive of the puzzles would be to avoid the "dangerous" creatures.
I agree, I think Jace does as well in this review. It's just too easy for most of the game
Yes definitely agree with your points on the gameplay. I could have done without combat at all and don't think I would have missed anything really. To your other point, personally I think they did a pretty good job capturing the emotions of the characters.
meh i have seen NIS do much much much much better games in the past.
