@@garyordo886It may be a morbid thought on my part, but there have been many a good blues songs written about all three of these conditions, sometimes individually, and sadly at others simultaneously. One about the tragic losses endured by the Allman brothers band over the years would be a fitting tribute to the fallen, and possibly a cathartic one for those left behind. There may have already been one written and I just haven't heard it yet, but if not, there should be. Peace, love, and eternal good will to all who read this. 🍑☮✌
Upon researching found that his beautiful wife used to spend tons of money partying with Florida Elites, fancy condo ... but his payroll just could not keep up ... and he was from the boomer era where that is shameful ... cornered with no where to go, so he went. We make our own beds and eventually have to lie in them like it or not.
Clapton was on his tour and took a flight from New Zealand to be there, after it, he resumed his tour. He also had to learn the songs. Great playing as always, you can put Clapton in any band, regardless of the genre/style of music, and he will fit.

@@peterbartolomeo956 I didn't mention anything about improvisation, but still, how a guitar player that NEVER plays the same solo twice isn't an improv. Clapton won't use a whammy bar because he uses his left hand for that, not needed. I disagree completely with your opinion, and it seems to me that you just like a showman instead of a guitar player.
I love Eric Clapton alone, but he doesn't mesh well with but a few other players. He has become comfortable playing solo, and can come off as a bit of a stage hog. They're all giants, and they were all hot on this night! Great show!
@@davidmccall4776 You sure about that? I mean, he plays (or had played) with tons of different players and I wouldn’t say that, remember there’s Crossroads festival. In my opinion, his versatility is one of the things he’s praised of the most. He can fit in almost any genre with any band.
@@matiasneuweiler662 Check out "Right place Wrong time" with Dr John for an example of what I'm talking about. @@wendylucka2397 Pretty close - he's the nephew of Butch Trucks, the Allman Brothers original drummer, so he grew up around this stuff! (I've only just started to watch this but he is most likely the drummer here.)
A brother from another turned me on to these fine musicians many years ago in the mid 70's, it's been a thrill ride on them ,till my dying days I will cherish their music.
I remember back in the late 60's when ABB would do a sat night show at the Warehouse in NOLA they would do a free concert at the pavilion in Autobon Park on the river on sunday afternoon .
Actually, I'm Debi's husband, Bud. I've read through these comments and believe I must be one of the oldest here. I first saw the ABB in 1970, in Raleigh, N.C. when Dwayne & Berry were alive. Now I'm 70+ and still listen to the greatest Southern Rock band, PERIOD! I live in Texas. I got to see Stevie Ray, Roy Buchanan, Billy G, David Gilmore, Derek Trucks, Leo Kottke, Danny Gatton and many, many more. But I consider Dwayne Allman to be the greatest white guitar player ever.
Mr. Bud Peterson, you've seen some of the best & I'm envious. In 1970 I was too young to see that concert. I'm from not far south of Raleigh, but a little closer to Wilmington. I only turned 16 in Sept. of 70 so the parents wouldn't let me go. By the time I got to see The Allman Brothers (1972) sadly, Duane was gone. Don't know if you remember but the song "Layla" was released that same year (1970). I've been crazy over music since the Beatles & Ed Sullivan. So when the Layla album came out I was just gone. Every song, "I Looked Away", Thorn Tree in the Garden", "Layla", all of them were phenomenal to me. From that time forward I have been enamored of Eric Clapton. I've been to see him every time he was within 200 miles. I thought the term "Clapton is GOD" was blasphemous but truly believed he was the penultimate of the guitar...even though every time I saw him live, the songs from that album just didn't sound quite the same. I put the difference down to it being a live performance, small change ups, not being in a sound studio, whatever. Anyway, a year or so ago, someone on youtube posted a breakdown of the song "Layla". In other words, in this video you get to hear Clapton's guitar & nothing but, then Duane's guitar & nothing but. I was so blown away. Everything I had loved, everything I had believed to be Eric....was not Eric at all. Don't get me wrong, I still love his music & think he is one of the greatest guitarists ever. But since I heard that video, I've paid a lot closer attention to Duane's playing & I have to agree with you. Duane Allman had a way of making the most beautiful sounds come out of a guitar. His abilities with that instrument are unsurpassed. I could listen to him play for hours on end with no accompaniment whatsoever. It is absolute beauty to my ears.
pure magic. to have been there would've been amazing ! the way the guitars weave in and out with each other could put me in a trance. so much talent on that stage.
I can' t express what this finest singularity means to me especially at "In Memory of Elisabeth Reed". Three world class soli and Gregg and Butch and the wonderful rest of the band.
this run in '09 was amazing. Butch started a website called MOOGIS and $150 got you access to watch a live stream of every show and they were also archived to re-watch for I think a couple of years. I watched all of them quite a few times. Every night there were different guests sitting in including Bob Weir, Billy Gibbons, Clapton, Susan Tedeschi, Sonny Landreth, Taj Mahal and many more. Every night I kept hoping Dickie would show up but it never happened. As evident in your 2 videos...the band was ON FIRE ! This run was EPIC ! Thanks for letting me relive those awesome memories. If you have any more besides these 2 shows please post them..THANKS

I can say 1000 things about this band but since I heard them back in the 70's The Allman's have been HOT.
What an amazing recording. Thanks for posting!
2:09:41 - a slight misstep by Eric, for which he immediately atones with a terrific solo.
2:24:30 - EC loving what DT is playing.
Saw Allman brothers band in 2018 at State Pier in Portland, Maine! Awesome music! I bought the Night Rider T- shirt!!! A lifetime treasure!!!
welcome to the family steve, dont remember how young i was at my first show . 60 aswell. they remain even switchin members round there and gone, the most entertaining group of fantastice musicians ever in this speck of the big ball of what we are you know, particals baby
These are Masters. They are truly, UN-paralleled in what they do with these instruments. God I will never understand how Butch Trucks could take his own life.
Depression alcoholism and taxes is a horrible thing and Butch couldn't deal with it
@@garyordo886It may be a morbid thought on my part, but there have been many a good blues songs written about all three of these conditions, sometimes individually, and sadly at others simultaneously.
WOW Huge respect love all these guys Clapton a legend of course but Warren and Trucks are more than brilliant
Glad I found this!! Little Wing is transcendent trip of pure delight!!
Clapton was on his tour and took a flight from New Zealand to be there, after it, he resumed his tour. He also had to learn the songs.
Great playing as always, you can put Clapton in any band, regardless of the genre/style of music, and he will fit.
Disagree. One dementional. Blues.....his slowhand nonsense was horrific. Great at Rock / Blues....but hes no improv guy.Jeff Beck Jimmy Page Frank Zappa could master ANY GENRE. BLUES ROCK JAZZ FUSION METAL ...ANYTHING. TO ME ERIC CLAPTON IS LIMITED . YOULL NEVER SEE HIM USE A CELLO BOW OR A WHAMMY BAR
I'm not taking anything away from Eric, he's the absolute best at what he does, I just prefer his solo gigs over those with other guitarists, especially if they're from predominantly non blues based genres. ☮✌
Thank you for these wonderful uploads! Great performances in beautiful quality - what more can we ask for !
Live music does not get better than this. Crowds come in peace and just eat the notes. So mesmerized by the beauty of the jam. Saw the ABB 12 times and every single show was absolutely awesome. No BS. No fan fights. No assholes.
ABB fans are my kind of people and I'm a staunch conservative.
Thank you. Beautiful tribute to DUANE ❤🎉
Fantastic ..... I think I watched this show on MOOGIS - the service that Butch et al put together ,, Thank you mucho for sharing.
Glad I clicked on this tonight. I'm 20 minutes into it and loving it.
That surely has to be the very best version of “Why Does Love Got to be so Sad” ever recorded. No idea how those three worked out their individual guitar parts so well but just amazing….
It's certainly a better quality recording than the vast majority of studio recordings that you'll ever hear. Outstanding! 🍑☮✌
If Derek's not the reincarnation NOBODY is or ever will be. I know Gregg had to have known it, too.
My husband and I went to see Clapton one time and I didn't even know who Derek was, but I swear to God when he played, I thought my panties were going to fall off!
@@diannekrogers LOVE DEREK!!
First time I saw Derek was with ABB, we thought he was Greg's kid or something!
@@wendylucka2397 Pretty close - he's the nephew of Butch Trucks, the Allman Brothers original drummer, so he grew up around this stuff! (I've only just started to watch this but he is most likely the drummer here.)
@@StuartPeelThat would be the late Butch Trucks on drums. RIP Butch, Gregg Allman, and Duane Allman, you're all sincerely missed! 🍑☮✌
Always a treat to watch this - again and again.
An absolute joy, topped off by Clapton giving the middle finger all the way through the first couple of verses of Layla..
Got to see them in the early days with Dickie Betts. Best band of ALL TIME! RIP Bros.
A brother from another turned me on to these fine musicians many years ago in the mid 70's, it's been a thrill ride on them ,till my dying days I will cherish their music.
That would be the Grateful Dead but the Allmans are a top 5 live act of all time for sure.
But I consider Dwayne Allman to be the greatest white guitar player ever.
yo just young
This version of Why Does Love Got to be So Sad is freeekin smoking !!!!!! thanks for post
pure magic. to have been there would've been amazing ! the way the guitars weave in and out with each other could put me in a trance. so much talent on that stage.
I can' t express what this finest singularity means to me especially at "In Memory of Elisabeth Reed". Three world class soli and Gregg and Butch and the wonderful rest of the band.
Pomp
Simply the best of best!!! Just close the eyes and listen to ...
Think this is the first time I have seen Derek smile while on stage
this run in '09 was amazing.
GOD, I MISS THE ABB!!!!!
I'd say these three guitarists and Oteil are all in a league of their own-absolutely extraordinary in every note they play.
Derek was on fire the moment he hit the first note to the very last!
Holy shit!
Thank you .
What a complete masterpiece 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏STANDING O👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Sure RUclips pushes the Covid videos onto your feed much too often, but then there's _this:_ kinda makes it all worth while.
Amazing concert!
Otell killed the opening!!! So impressed!
Yes, indeed. Beautiful.
I just to say this band is want those best from middle 70 n now with Eric Clapton it’s was cool jam you guys forever 😎🙃😉😝
Goosebumps and chills😇🕊️✌️🩷🎼😎🪽🌛🌞🙌💐🕯️🎤🎹
what can one say....except thanks, breathtaking
Oh Warren you tease soooooo good! :)
Funny how much Derek watches Clapton's hands work the guitar. He shows a lot of appreciation for Claton's abilities.
Eric Clapton came to America for the money. Butt the BBC. Is quite a few blues players. Like Savory Brown.., Alvin lee.... .my thoughts go to Eric as a Stretch he gave us more like BB. King to stay and play p

I only found out about the Allman Brothers after Duane's death. My pot head Squad Leader from Georgia, in Basic Training at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO., played "Eat A Peach" all the time. He intoduced me to ABB and weed the same weekend. Was never the same after that. Eventually earned the nicknake; "Toke". long story.............

Clapton is great....no question.....but Warren Haynes is a true baddass himself. Love listening to Warren play. Allman Bros. Duane ...Dickie Betts....Warren.....and this kid....oh yeah...Butchies nephew. What a baddass guitar band
i know the focus of the band is the guitarwork and gregg;s vocals,...but theres nothing quite like the sound of that hammond organ run through a leslie,.....nice extra dimension to the bands sound....
So damn good.
Yea should have seen Duane Allman playing

How bout Mr Trucks!!
Absolutely the best nowadays 👍🏻
Oh shit I forgot this the one that has Clapton. That 44 blues just worth it all.
That Trucks solo in Mountain Jam. MOTHER OF GAWD
Derek's solo on Liz Reed is UNREAL.
They were simply the best.
To play a guitar Ike these guys is a gift from God!
