I'm not much into horror/scary books, but I have to say that the tagline for Foul Days is brilliant. "The scariest monsters are the human-shaped ones." Yikes! Well-written!
me watching this after already seeing your GR review for Jaws🧍♀ 12:20 MY jaw is on the floor 13:31 IM SCREAMING AT THIS AUDIO omg your patron is soooo talented!! The little plush is sooo cute!! 31:59 ninja farts Tea its good to hear that you are enjoying Patricia Wants to Cuddle. This has also been on my list for forever!! 🧟♂✋
The way I laughed when you said "Look at this! Look who wrote this...a white man!" 🤣 even though I'd never read Jaws because of my shark fear. I would've had the same reaction reading that part wtf 🤨 Oh my goodness the plushie!! I looked right away and I'm very tempted for Coraline when I can financially do it. One of my all time favorite movies that I know all the words to! 🧟🧟♀🧟♂
The most audacious group of people lmao. Idk if the book would even trigger shark fear bc the shark is barely in it. It's mostly domestic and town drama. Snooze fest. The coraline one is so beautiful. Have you read the book for it? Its a movie I love too so I'm scared to read the book, lol
@@WickedScorpio lol truly! That's completely fair, but I think given everything you've mentioned I would be bored even trying to read the book. I did read the book a few years ago and remember not loving it as much as I hoped I would. It was one of those rare moments where I preferred the movie over the book. But maybe I'll try to read it again once it gets colder out. 🤔
I found Jaws disappointing. It's like the shark was a side character. I didn't care about the humans personal drama; I wanted the shark to eat them all. One instance, for me, where the movie is better than the book.
@AmyNoelleReads thank you!! I'm so glad people like it 🥹 and I'm scarred for life from that scene. I didn't even mention the actual s*x scene. I think I just blocked it from my mind 🤣
Love the Persephone myth, going to snag Winter Harvest. What do you put in your coffee? I have that mug!!! :) This Dark Endeavor: The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein by Kenneth Oppel is a fun series so far
I hope the story is as stunning as the book 🙏 I put a little bit of caramel syrup, some cinnamon creamer of some sort (I currently have chobani brand but it changes every time), and dry cream 🖤 Matching mug girlies ☕️☕️☺️ Oooo I will have to look into that series!
@@WickedScorpiothat’s a lot of stuff in the coffee 😅 On weekends I add Irish Mist honey liqueur, yum! I have Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein in the tbr but now I’m not super excited to start it. That’s too bad that Jaws was so dumb. Did you read Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix? (reading it now at work) It takes place in CLE! Weird! Also if you haven’t read the Rip Through Time series (Kelley Armstrong) it is excellent!
I have not heard a single person who enjoyed Jaws the book. However, I NEVER heard anyone mention that scene. It's giving Laymon. Sorry, there is no way that I would let Art sleep in my room. He looks amazing, though!
@@WickedScorpio welcome! I haven't had the book for a while so the book may be Re-animator and the movies are Re-animator... guess it's three movies ending in Beyond Re-animator? the only one I've seen though is Beyond Re-animator. sorry that's confusing lol
Jaws the book is so different from the movie! A perfectly trashy book! I love referring to Victor as a twerp 😂 The perfect word for that POS 😂 Eynhallow’s ending was too bleak for me. The writing was great and I always wanted to listen but damn, what a sad ending!
"Look who wrote this... a white man" lmfao Leave the chicken alone!!! You should definitely avoid Richard Laymon books too Ok I need to get one of these plushies!! Paige is 🔥🔥
Giggling at this because yeah, read Jaws a couple years ago and that section is nuts. But I remember learning that the entire chapter was put in at the publisher's request/demand. Apparently sharks ripping people apart wasn't thrilling enough. The book needed the worst s*x scene ever written. (Hopefully the worst ever written. Shudder.)
I just got the audiobook for The Deep by Peter Benchley last night lol.. audible 2-for-1 sale.... hope it doesn't have any of that weird ish in it omg!
Oh man, your recounting of Jaws brought back some residual PTSD from my read a couple years ago. Other cringey books from the 70s that have similar moments are The Godfather (movie is so much better) and Harvest Home - which always gets recommended for being a great autumnal folk horror, but it is so steeped in misogyny that any statement it may be making gets lost in its poor execution.
🧟♂️ omgosh I’m officially obsessed with this channel!!! Oh boy here goes a book shopping marathon 😂
Omg tysm 🥹❤️

Foul days was a really fun fantasy! Much more cozy and not at all scary :)
Lmaooo im dying at your jaws rant 😂 my eyeballs and ears would like to be sanitized after that. How icky 😅

Bleaching out my ear canals now 🫠

Happy to be of service lmao
Your kitchen is giving Halloween, love the orange and the brown backsplash 🥰🎃🧡🤎🧟♂️

Hahaha thank you. It makes the pain I went through worth it 😂

100000%. so on board with the shark eating everyone in that book 😂 team shark all the way
I’m loosing it with Jaws 😂😂 I own a copy will NOT be reading 🤮 I am obsessed with ur hot pink ghost!!! 👻 ahhh that art plushie is amazing!🧟♀️
Read just that part please lmaooo. I almost got ghost face, but then I saw Art and it was a must
Instantly bought one of those sweatshirts. Love it! 👻
Thank you so much!! 🥹 I can't wait for you to get it
Ew Jaws WHY 🙄🙃
The plushie is amazing!!
I just bought Please Stop Trying to Leave Me for the cover 😍🤣
But really, WHY?? 😅
Covers will get me buying every time 😂
I LOOOOVVEE the hoodie! So frickin cute. Absolutely will be buying one when I have the extra cash.
Omg that restaurant scene in Jaws 🤢 EWW

Great vlog❤ 🤚
Thank you!
Jaws is one of my favorite movies of all time. When I read the book I was DISGUSTED!!! Thank the powers that be for Spielberg!! 😅
It was sooooo not it. Thank you Spielberg for cutting that hole part out 🙏
The books gives me to the outlook instead of the movie
i got the exact two bookbabe shirts! hah
Great minds think alike 🤪 they're too cute
LITERALLY ALL THE LIBRARY BOOKS COME AT THE SAME TIME AND IT MAKES ME SO MAD EVERY TIME 😂
My anxiety can't handle it 😅

It has a high rating on GR! No idea how bc the book was just 'yikes' all around. Art stays in the library with the door closed lol
If you like the idea of Frankenstein you may have fun with the campy Beyond-Reaminator by Jeffrey Combs. There is a movie as well.
the iconic rat eating something off the floor scene... 🤢😂😂
Ooo I'll have to look into that, thank you!

The twerpiest of twerp lol. Yeah the ending was definitely very bleak so that's totally fair. Just men ruining a woman's life 🥲
"Look who wrote this... a white man" lmfao

Me AND the chicken were victimized by that book. I already committed to never reading Richard laymon don't worry 😂😂

WHY would they think it needed that. It was so offputting, unnatural and truly the worst thing I've ever read 🥴

That is the gamble with vintage or older horror, unfortunately. I almost expect the misogyny and racism, but I did not expect that convo 😅😭

You're the second reviewer to not like Jaws. This is a prime example of why I read more women authors than men. The ick. 🧟♀️
@LuneAzure 100000%. The only man I have found to be an exception and writes women phenomenally is nat cassidy
