When I turned a bedroom into a library, I ended up turning the closet into a “Restricted Section.” I lined the whole thing with shelves, and now it holds my witchcraft books and any other titles that a random nosy guest (*cough* MOM) would raise their eyebrows at. I also switched the knob to lock with a key, so it’s also where I keep the important documents (like deeds, bonds, passports, wills) and valuable jewelry.

A tip I learnt with baseboards, is to pull tape off when you finish painting before it dries so it doesn’t rip any off, and to pull towards the wall instead of away from it.
I need to redo all of mine soon as they’re chipping and becoming discoloured
That was the plan 😅 I pulled it up as soon as I finished the room, but sadly, it took me so long to finish that it was pretty dry by then lol. But i definitely didn't pull in the correct direction, so thank you for that tip!
My husband and I just bought an older house from the 70s and went through this as well! We spent several weeks doing floors (cause carpets from 70s no thank you), painted all 2400sq ft of interior of house and painted the kitchen cabinets. I feel your pain but also so much gratification when you see all your hard work come together!! Congrats from a fellow slave to house renovations 😂❤️
It's definitely worth it in the end, but there's a lot of moments of questioning and being on the brink of a break down in the middle 😂😂 the list really never ends
@@WickedScorpio I agree! We rushed to do the paint because we wanted to move in but we have 2 huskies and the walls would have been hairy if we tried to paint when moved in lol! I still have a LONG way to go. We basically just put makeup on the house until we decided to tackle one renovation at a time! But it’s kind of fun being able to work on your own house whenever you have time and make it your own! I will always have a list of stuff to do but don’t forget to enjoy it too! I work from home so my office is combined with my reading room and it was my favorite project I did! Definitely want to change the color to something moodier like that green you used!!

That was actually one of my earlier plans, but the cabinet is pretty large and took a lot of space out of the room sadly. I put in a few areas, but it looked super awkward.

They adjusted well! The baby took the longest but she's comfortable now. We did have a little issue with the oldest going to the bathroom in one of the carpeted rooms instead of the litter boxes 😬 we blocked off that room for now and hoping the habit breaks. It's the back living room so there's not a door. We put up a tarp in the mean time since we still need to painted and fix that room up but it can't stay up forever 😂 She's been doing good so far! Thank you for asking ☺️💕

I have painted my house soooooo many times. I don't tape off anymore. It's soooo time consuming. The thing with taping is you have to pull it off as soon as you paint especially if you use latex paint other wise it will pull off. I hate tape 😂
I also gave in to temu a few weeks ago bc I got a crap ton of points for fetch rewards. I got a bunch of book journal stuff and it was decent !
Yeah I only do the tape for the floors or an accent wall but I'm so over it 😅
