They're putting out the Sam The Eagle tumblers because they know collectors will gobble them up since the ride is closing.

I've ridden the monorail for more than 30 years since our very 1st visit to WDW. Never, ever felt unsafe. But driving down I75 to get to Orlando and back home is another matter. Feel like I'm taking my life into my hands every single time. Sure wish Florida's vindictive state government & FTOD would monitor their state roads & highways for legal compliance as much as they are focused on Disney. Those are the dangerous transportation systems down there, not the monorail.

No amount of government can stop the insanity that is Florida drivers and out of state tourists driving on the same road to the theme park capital of the world.

The strangest thing to come out of that fight with the government that actually makes logical sense. The state inspection of a mass transit system. I trust Disney, and we all should, however never hurts to verify. I can not believe I agree with the crazy Florida man governor but this actually makes sense and is not a total waste of time nor tax payer dollars. The system was deemed safe, we all knew it would be, however now Disney know some one can do something, and maybe that provides an on going counter balance to any spread sheet folks to cut the budget.

The monorail is starting to show its age in several spots, so inspection is needed.

Rumor: 2027 will be Disneyland's biggest milestones for Star Wars (50th), Fantasmic (35th), Pirates of the Caribbean (60th), GOTG: Mission Breakout (10th), Cars Land (15th) and Main Street Electrical Parade (55th)!

The best thing about this new Poly tower is it's next door to the actual Poly. You can literally compare two highly comparable Disney properties. The original is very themed, whereas the new looks 10x more expensive, and yet very sanitary theming. Everything is smooth as if the prime directive were "we need to be able to hose off the walls and floor every night." Yes, it's "themed" but next door is THEMED. I'm sure the Disney fans who can't see past their own urges will love it without discernment.

Well maybe now the monorail doors won't open during travel on the monorail beams...... Unless of course the passengers have parachutes that they have on their backs...

8:56 🚝 monorail inspection is a big nothing burger; Roy Disney and his team built the WDW monorail footings, columns, and beams to last.

The monorail is over 50 years old now and should be inspected.

@@RoastBeefSandwich you completely missed my point-look at how well it’s built: 50 years later it’s still in great shape. It’s fine that the state wants to inspect every couple of years going forward. I am sure Disney will continue with more frequent self-inspection between the state inspection intervals.

The inspection finding nothing, is awesome, we can continue to trust and enjoy the system that carries us to our favorite place on earth. Also the government should keep an eye on any system carrying so many people, as safety is paramount. The lack of strong findings speaks to your comment, which is well awesome.

Just a thought for your team: Maybe you should schedule your special history events (like Promising Tomorrows) to coincide with the IAAPA Expo in November. IAAPA draws so many professionals and fans who love theme parks, I bet many would love to attend your history-focused events!

Love you guys, but when you talk about the wait signs thing, you talk to that screen, not to us. Just predo a canned demo that doesn't involve figuring it out again every time you pick it up--it makes the device seem complicated and fiddly. It's also brighter than the speaker on the set, which is distracting.

All the attractions in Walt Disney world should be inspected by third party the way these attractions are falling apart and breaking all the time I need an inspection other than Disney to keep them safe.

When is the last time someone got injured on a Disney ride? I understand there are maintenance problems, but they very rarely seem to be safety related.

This has nothing to do with safety . This was about DeSantis using government powered to punishing Disney for speaking out against his policies.

  • @spoonlessvalkyrie7514

The monorail thing just seems like government overreach. Disney already inspects them and regularly takes them down for repairs and refurbishment. One thing you can say about Disney is they have a pretty good safety record.

True. Only problem I ever had was a hard stop on Space Mountain one time - head went back like a Pez dispenser. Used to go once a week for years, I felt safe.
