Dijak was great in nxt. His feud with Keith Lee was amazing
I enjoyed his 1990s direct to video cop gimmick in NXT 2.0. Heck, he had the perfect villain voice, and unfortunately, I do remember his (and Dio Madden's) promo about Sabertooth tigers or something like that during the post-retribution tag run.

@@sylveonprince1498 2k24 is bad. Online has been unplayable since day one. It crashes or freezes 90% of the time. The creation suite is completely broken. There's always new glitches popping up that ruin the game. I pretty much can't even play right now because several option menus are broken and just freeze up the game. I've tried contacting support and they don't reply. It's an awful game. It would be good if it worked but it doesn't.

It's a packed and stacked roster of talent and stories there at WWE right now. A lot of ppl are going to get lost in the shuffle.

Dijak literally had everything WWE needed, Social media presence, In ring performance, mic skills, he had LITERALLY EVERYTHING. WWE loves shooting them in the foot

Dijak is great. Probably not a place for him atm and hes just stuck in NXT. This will be good for him, show the wrestling world what he can do and show Trips why they will want him back
Being called up from NXT to the main roster, seems to be more of a curse than a blessing. It appears that if a wrestler gets called up, there is a good chance that they will get released.
Not like it wasn't the old days, getting over in NXT then getting called up and immediately getting "Vinced"
At this point it’s seeming more and more a 1/3 success rate
Sometimes you get a Sami or a Owens
But other times you get a Adrian, Apollo, Dijak, Karrion, or Mia Yim
You get called up and do little to nothing or something small that REALLY falls flat
You got to remember if creative doesn’t have nothing to write for you. They have to let you go. It more wrestlers out here you can write a gimmick and story.

I'm amazed WWE fumbled Dijak so bad. An amazing big guy and genuinely someone who they could've built NXT around. Here's hoping he lands somewhere that treats him better. Would think he'd thrive as a bruiser in NJPW or even AEW/ROH

That’s a real shame, Dijak was one of the most underrated men in the roster, he had one of the best matches of the year against Oba and Briggs at Stand or Deliver. He’ll do well post-WWE!

Dijak was done dirty. He's always performed at a HIGH LEVEL and was always rock solid on the mic. THEY NEVER GAVE HIM A CHANCE. I mean --THEY never had to because there's a virtual OVERSTOCK of talent right now in WWE...but it's still not fair that he wasn't given a fair shot to get over on the main roster.
Dijak will show up on a random AEW Collision or Rampage jobbing to a mid card talent in about two minutes

No, that’s not true. That is not what is going to happen. First off Tony is going to build this up as a big free agent signing and he’s going to make a big deal about it and then he’s gonna show up then he will disappear for about a month or so and then he will come back and do a couple big matches and then we won’t see him for six months, then he will start getting jobbed.

Agreed. Theres no indication so far that he’s had any say in that decision at all.
I can only imagine how huge the wage bill is and when a company is bought out that is usually the first thing that gets looked at. Think they’ve done that in terms of back office staff (and still ongoing) but talent was inevitable at some point.
I suspect there’ll be a significant roster trim down at some stage but wouldn’t be surprised to see a few more deals simply not be renewed as they come up.
HHH still takes partial blame here. It's not like he wouldn't have known the status of Dijak's contract when he drafted him. If he knew talks to resign him weren't happening he should not have drafted him. Simple as that.
@@JoeChianelli why? He might’ve been told there were plans to resign him and that subsequently changed or perhaps he used the draft to try and show they had longer term plans for him to try and help push through a new deal?
I just think a lot of people seem to think Triple H has the same kind of remit that Vince did when he’s purely in charge of creative, if TKO don’t want to stump up the money to sign someone then there’s ultimately not much he can do yet he seems to be the one getting the bulk of the blame.
They COULD still resign him and I say could cause there's today and maybe a few days left. But if there is nothing him in AEW would be awesome then he could go back to WWE after a few months or years.

I've only ever enjoyed Dijak's Keith Lee feud tbh. I think he is a great worker but have never thought his character was that good. I also believe Dijak is Dijak's #1 fan. I hope he gets to show us why Dijak is so great in the near future.

@@arashitendou5941 You're right but this is a different matter. It'd be crazy of me to sit here and say that these releases are the best thing that happened to them. The thing I am objecting to is the idea that time spent in WWE (on main roster or NXT) is somehow a waste which it never really is unless you don't show up on programming at all and just bumble around the PC for a couple of months.

Good luck to him, struck me especially in those Keith Lee matches to be a unique talent for his size. Personally would like a short TNA run next to get him moving (rather than lost in AEW shuffle)

1-This isn’t “breaking news”. This is on the level as a 10-12 man on an NBA roster team not picking up his team option or a special teams player on and NFL team who has a few punt returns for TD’s not getting a contract renewal. It’s not a big deal.
2-You are talking about a guy who is best known for being T-Bar to a the national audience. I think we need to pump our brakes on the “shoot themselves in the foot or they fumbled the ball.” Bro it’s freakin T-Bar.
3-If he has been in WWE for that long and his highest accomplishment is being T-Bar it AINT HAPPENING. He doesn’t have “it”. At least not what the WWE is looking for and that’s okay. He can be AEW version Mike Awesome. Wardlow isn’t taking that spot. Mine as well be Dijak.
4-Trashing your former employer is bad business. Talking about how the said one thing and did another in public is bad business. Unless you plan on working on the indies your whole life. Which is cool but usually people that trash WWE regrets it sooner or later.
This feels like a symptom of the merger. Between Natty, Ricochet, and now Dijak. It looks like TKO is trimming (what they perceive to be) a bloated WWE Roster. It seems like they want a “Stars and Scubs” model the middle is gonna get pinched.
I hope Dijak stays away from AEW for a while. They just seemed overstuffed at the moment. Homie probably wouldn't get time like he deserves in the long run. Though I would like to see how he and Sammy Guevara coexist together lol. TNA would be awesome for him though. Dijak v Moose would be crazy.
Maybe it's just another staged promo just like when AJ Styles and Drew McIntrye said they quit on a generic house show instead of at a pay-per-view event. Surely if this guy would accounce retirement, it would be at a pay-per-view instead of just another generic house show, just like if AJ or Drew would retire.
Dijak is a good talent they could've drafted him on Smackdown to let him flourish a little more in WWE. I hope Dijak does well. I loved his stuff with Keith Lee in NXT.

Really like Dijack. There were a lot of people I would've wanted to see him fight on the main roster. Him vs Jey or him vs Sami both could've been great matches and storylines. Same with him vs Sheamus. I think this was a miss WWE.
For some reason WWE has no idea how to sell guys like Killer Kross and Dijak. Hopefully Dijak will go to TNA because they are majorly in need of talent to fill out their roster. But it might also be cool to see him show up in NJPW affiliated with David Finlay and The Bullet Club. I would say I'd like to see him in AEW, but he seems like someone that would disappear on their over inflated roster.
An angle? Best case scenario the HHH regime knows that Dijak will do better in TNA NWA or even the competition AEW/ NJPW. I’d like to think this is a worked shoot. His brand is served as a frustrated release rather than just getting future endeavored.

Seeing how AEW uses Kieth Lee, Dijak should go anywhere but AEW. Last thing any "former WWE" talent would want is to be used for a hot minute for hype than turned into a mid/lower card like most of the former WWE talent. Tony Khan does not know how to utilize most of his talent that was made stars elsewhere. He & Ricochet would be better off in TNA.
As someone who prefers WWE this is why I do not want AEW to fail. Wrestlers may not work out in one promotion and can try in another. Either way, it gives them more opportunities, and hopefully, it will work out somewhere. Either way, TK, keep doing what you're doing and bring in Shane as well. That is rating's gold, Jerry!

Pete lists many contract issues and then also says that it's not currently common. I love you, but where is Becky Lynch? Drew's deal nearly ended. Is Gable's done?
Systemic issues are not solved through turnover alone and the corporate merger will keep have the company looking for easy cuts (even temporary ones).
Vacancy management is a common tool for cost-cutting with the risks being lost opportunity. If WWE gauges that the opportunity cost is low enough they will be going to this route for now.
Tough to tell with contract negotiations. "We attempted to negotiate" means he/his team offered something to WWE which they evidently didn't feel compelled to go with, and they didn’t have substantial plans for him (evidently since he hasn’t appeared in the 2 months since the draft).
Which has no indication at all of what they asked for. He could’ve pulled a Sasha and asked for Cody level money for all we know.
Anyhow as he notes, he’s got the opportunity to go prove his worth and value and come back (or not on his terms).
Only weird thing really was the callup with nothing apparently to do. All the other NXTs from the draft have had at least some presence.

It sucks to see Dijak go it really is. But he’s valuable so I could easily see anyone trying to pick him up. Personally I think he’d do best in Impact and New Japan
Time for wrestlers to take control of their lives, especially with all of the contracts ending in WWE and AEW. It's time that wrestlers sign shorter deals and be more open to fans that this is how long they signed for, and not be a shill for any one company. Admit they are only going after the money, or going where the wrestlers that they want to work with are.
It used to be you were expected that you act like wherever you were signed at that time, that's the only ones you ever worked for. Everyone is crossing the threshold of the 'forbidden door' verbally. Maybe it's time for the wrestlers to use the big companies like they were indie level management. "Give me something, a story line, some big money that we can discuss again in 6 months or a year, If you don't make me happy, someone else will." They could include that the company can be the on-site outlet for their unbranded merch while signed with them. Then even continue selling it later, or buy from the wrestler or his marketing team and sell their merch even if they don't work for them.
Treat the industry as one big entity where initials don't matter. Sell yourselves instead, of being shopped for like comparing boxes of cereal at Walmart.
what i'm hoping is happening is WWE not wanting another Cameron Grimes situation where they creatively don't have plans for a guy with a lot of talent and just feel it's better to let them go and not drag them on. they clearly had plans for Dijak, but they fell through. we don't know everything and we especially don't know what led to the discussion. i do wish WWE was more transparent about releases to their talent, but it's better to release Dijak now instead of forcing him to give up a year+ of his career doing dark matches when he could be destroying it on the indies.
I say every week "I wish they did something with Dijak". He should had been NXT Champion.

This is one that they just never got right and didn't even try too hard. This last run was actually something to take seriously, but still fell short of what he is capable of.
