- Today, I'm reviewing the Captain America Ed Brubaker Omnibus Vol. 1 from Marvel Comics. This Over-sized hardcover comic book collection is an omnibus I've been wanting in my collection for some time!
I love the work of Ed Brubaker and his work with Captain America is second to none. His introduction of the Winter Soldier and his handling of the Marvel Civil War are memorable and hold up to this day.

And I love this Cap run!! I used to have it in trade paperbacks but sold them years ago really happy to start collecting it in Omnis 💪💪

@@jennifferelliott1053 maybe not the easiest? It’s been a minute since I read his run specifically. It’s right after Bendis’ run on the book and I know he shook quite a few things up 😂
I passed on these when they came out. But after taking a look at this I may have to grab em! Great review Brother!
Hey thanks so much man! This is a beloved run for me. I used to have it in trade paperback but sold them awhile back really happy to have some of the early issues of Brubaker’s run back and in omnibus format 😁💪👏

If not I definitely recommend at least this volume the first few arcs are some of my favorite but the whole thing is great ha

To each their own for sure but if you’re interested at all and can find for a good price this is an excellent read and the art is gorgeous
Great review! I have heard that this Omnibus is amazing and your final score confirms it. I think Marvel should have made one big omnibus including volume 1 and 2. What are your favorite Ed Brubaker stories?
Honestly this is a 5 volumes omnibus run that probably could have been across 3 😂 I think this may be the largest of these Cap Brubaker Omnis haha although I only have the first three (hoping 4&5 see reprints eventually)
I love Brubaker but I’m also a sucker for superhero stories so while is indie crime stuff is just unparalleled some of
My personal favorites are of course this Cap run, his run on Daredevil (not as good as Bendis in my opinion on the book but such a great follow up with some wonderful moments), and I’ve also really loved what he did on Gotham Central for DC. There’s honestly so many just classics that he’s written it’s really hard to pick. I also think his X-men run is seriously underrated 🤷🏻♂️

@@TheComicBookReport Yes, my favorite "Ed Brubaker" stories are Criminal and "Kill or be Killed". Recently Chris from the channel Offmyshelf recommend me "Pulp" which I am waiting to purchase in the following months.

I fancy the omnibuses but this vol 1 is quite pricey here in England.

I think at least most of not all is available i trades not clear if still in print. An incredible run though worth seeking out as able 👏

4 n 5 are apparently getting re-released later this year.
Got a huge backlog of books to be read so I've yet to dive into these but I'll be back when I do! ✌️

I used to have this run in paperbacks but sold them years ago, trying to collect them in Omnibuses myself, but only have the first three so far, hopefully Vol. 4-5 will get reprints :)

I’m afraid I don’t know. I know it just got reprinted a year or two ago.
Hopefully soon for those that missed out
