I moved to Washington in 2000. It was very beautiful and a wonderful place to grow up. But now...The roads have not been upgraded to accommodate for the growing population. Housing costs are Higher than I thought possible. It's no different than California With the growing homeless problem. 1 to 2 hour commutes just to get to work are common now. The housing developments that have sprung up over the last 10 years are ugly and the construction quality is not great. Liberty high school was a wonderful little school that now it's massively Overcrowded. Washington suffering from the same problems of California and it's only getting worse with no end in sight. Jobs used to be plentiful everything from simple factory work 2 middle class programming jobs. now it is difficult To find work and competition is fierce. Washington's natural beauty is comparable to Alaska. But If you do plan on moving there I would wait until another housing market crash if you want to be able to afford a home.

What is most important to you and your family? Most of the suburbs outside of the main cities have a more neighborhood feel but many families live close to Seattle and Tacoma as well
@@KarenJackson Family friendly activities, safe environment, good schools is at the top of the list. I really loved the vibe of Olympia when I visited a few years ago, but I’m not sure how much had changed since I’ve been.
@@prestonpowell2487 Olympia is a great area. Here are the ratings for schools to get you started. So much depends on where you can afford and do you want a more city feel or rural feel? Feel free to email me and we can chat more. kjackson@johnlscott.com
@@prestonpowell2487 It's extremely crime-ridden, filthy, and depressed. It's visibly deteriorated for the last ten years. Don't rely on official city photography to judge, find a source like the Instagram of a resident and it should tell you all you need to know.

Well thank you for the input. Would you have any better recommendations for towns or cities in the state?
how is renting in washington? areas near scenery. 1-2 bedroom average prices?
Hi Lindsey, it depends on what area you are in. Anywhere within 30 miles of Seattle are quite high rents. It also depends on if you are talking about an apartment or a house
Karen Jackson i don’t really know to be honest! whatever is decently priced and good areas for 20-somethings people and not too far from coastlines or good views. if that’s too broad i’ll have to do some research and get back to you!
@@lindseymascia6014 I don't work with rentals unfortunately.
@@lindseymascia6014 $1600 to 1800 a month for two bedrooms.

Love your video
Lol. Thank you!
Gary, thank you for your input. Did you attend Liberty High School?
Just wanted to let you know that RUclips decided to show me your ad, but I live in Washington already. Ask for your advertisement money back! 😂
Thank you for your input.
Well if you think this is an advert, then everything can be interpreted as an advert.
That music video you watched is to make you buy the song. Just listening to it requires you to watch an ad.
I thought this video was quite informative and balanced, a lot better than many things out there.
@@user-vf3lx9ix3e It literally ran as an ad over a video I was watching.
@@michaelpeila8794 Myself I had to actively search for this video, it didn't pop up out of nowhere.
I am considering moving to WA, so for me this video has reasonable and useful information.
Other viewers aren't able to extract much from the video, but for me I found it useful.
Thank you!
I dream of moving here
You should! It is a great place. Where do you live now?
@@KarenJackson south texas where it is really hot. I live in a town called harlingen

The most diverse town or city in Washington state? I am of Asian descent so I like diversity.
That would be Seattle and surrounding seattle cities. Burien, Renton, Kent, Auburn and Federal Way are very diverse as well. Are you planning a move here?
Karen Jackson thanks! I’ve been to Seattle and it is a little too busy for me. I’ll have to check out the other cities you mentioned. I would love to move there in the future. It could be as soon as next year as I plan on moving by then. 😎
@@jarsshew2722 feel free to ask any questions. If you would like further info let me know!
Plenty of Asians there
I see the rain as a pro. I love rainy weather.
Great hunting
Yes there are lots of avid hunters here!
@@KarenJackson I grew up in WA. Going to move back.
@@marcusfitzgerald59 I love it here!
Since I'm a local New Yorker (not from the city), and wanting to move to the more rural areas kinda close Spokane WA but more like Garfield WA, what's the number 1 con in state that I can possibly know for the near future
Hi Jacob, I work on the west side of the state. Spokane area is beautiful though. I would say the thing most people complain about is the taxes or the rain, but it is much different over near Spokane. The taxes are lower and they see more sunshine over there :) If you would like help locating an agent there. Let me know, I would be happy to help! When do you plan to move here?
@@KarenJackson The weather compared between the states a re very similar because New York have two lakes Lake Ontario and Lake Erie and cause clouds coverage pretty often, and with taxes in New York state it's been terrible but the taxes shouldn't be too bad and thank you for your input I'll see what's out there within a year to two years
@@mjolnirracer8088 Ok please feel free to ask any questions.
@@mjolnirracer8088 It gets REALLY hoy on the Eastern side of the state. I mean 100+ degrees hot and it gets very cold in the winter. Housing is cheaper.
So funny how you said the traffic is bad :) you don’t know how bad is it here in Florida :)) lol lol
I have been to Florida but usually on vacation when I try to stay away from traffic :)
Karen Jackson yeah traffic is horrible here I mean HORRIBLE 🤣
In Wenatchee we get 300 days of sunshine. Yes more people live on the west side of the state, but most of the east side doesn’t rain that much at all. Your review doesn’t show the entire great state of Washington…..you’re reviewing just western Washington. The Wenatchee metro…Wenatchee, Cashmere, Chelan, Leavenworth and Quincy will push 100,000 people soon. This does not include the Tri Cities and Spokane…..do better about our state!
You are correct. I don't work on the East side
can a low income person lie in washington state?
Yes there is some low income houseing
People who live in other states don't! come to Washington state unless you don't complain about the weather and not a liberal. Californians or New York are not welcomed but maybe Texans can come 🤔.
Washington Rock's. Camas and Tacoma on the West side SUCKS. They are both know for beauty. Not business and sophistication.
