Hi Sid, thoroughly enjoyed your York video and completely agree that it was a great experience and I was glad I had the opportunity to go. Really enjoyed reconnecting with you and many of the other fellas. I picked up a few things, but you are going to have to watch my York video once published, to see what they are. 😀 Bill B.
Sid Victor from New Jersey just wishing you and your family a lovely Thanksgiving and May the rest of your holidays be blessed with joy enjoy the rest of your day
Hi Sid. Speaking of Right of Way, I’ve recently got a Right of Way Burlington Northern flat car with Ertl Allis Chalmers tractors. It was part of their farm series and only 300 were made. It really is a shame Right of Way went out of business. They made good stuff. Also RIP Bill Benson.
My father and I used to attend the York TCA train show every October and April. We used to search for classics such as the pre-war State set, pre-war Madison cars to go with our black 763E semi-scale Hudson, as well as so many other classic era Lionel, Ives and American Flyer trains. With all of these modern trains I guess the show is now quite different. As a child, I remember the smell of the old Lionel electric motor (my first exposure to toy trains was my father's prewar 1666E freight set from his childhood, it did not smoke being a prewar toy of course), I miss that in these modern models but their realism is what makes them outstanding.
Great video and haul, absolutely love that greenbrier, I got two in HO brass and is the locomotive that got me into the hobby of trains, it’s the most beautiful locomotive ever designed (my opinion). Thanks for sharing!
Sid, You made some nice finds. Enjoy them! Being with good friends and other hobbiest sharing information and stories is great. I hope more of the newer crowd will understand that and help grow the hobby. While I didn't get there I have registered for the Spring '23 meet. To me MTH did a fantastic job on all of the Premier 4-8-4's they did. The C&O J-3a Greenbriar and Reading T-1 are two of my favorites. I will get a Greenbriar one day. Thanks for sharing your experience at York!
Hi Sid, so glad to see a young man interested in this fabulous hobby! I am 76, and have been involved with model trains since my childhood. How old are you? Tomorrow I will attend a large show in Mt. Hope, OH, in the heart of a large Amish community! I model American O gauge and international HO trains from around the world. Best wishes to you. James
It was nice meeting you at the York TCA show, I found an MTH GE Demonstrator Passenger car to go with my Vision line GE Hybrid and a Lionel standard O gauge New York Central Boxcar and as usual I picked up some other miscellaneous rolling stock, tools and repair parts. You and the other RUclipsrs that were at the show have something special going on and I am sure you guys will be friends for life and the amazing thing is that you aren't competing with one another, but you are complimenting and supporting each other. The benefit to all the You Tube channels that you and the others produce are bringing in another generation to the hobby and who knows maybe keep it going for another 100 years.
Always great seeing you!!! The 610 is something I'm very happy I picked up. Such a classy and mean looking engine. Cheers to this past York and the future shows!!!
Thanks for your great overview of your York experience, Sid. It seems you had a really good time seeing friends, fans and trains. I live in Canada, so York would be quite ride for me, and I hoped to when I was younger, but now it's out of the question. That's why I depend on collectors like you to show me what's going on the hobby. Always interested in what you folks are doing on your layouts and what you've bought to expand your collections. Keep up the good work, Sid. See next time!

My first time at the York show. I joined so I could see the meet and greet. I been sneaking things in pass the GF since the show. She did notice the AF UP heavyweights. She commented that I thought you got just two hats??? I did say, didn't I bring you back a Chessie sweat shirt???? LOL Kitchen duty for the next month.
Nice haul and recap of York. I didn't get to go this year but I felt like I was there with everyone's video's! I didn't let not going stop from finding some deals on stuff. I picked up the two MTH MoPac GP35's to add to my MoPac Fleet. Thanks again for sharing your adventures with us Sid! ~Ricky from Texas
Sid, if you brought those cars back on the plane you might have gotten the same surprise I did once. I was coming home from a trip to Florida and while there I'd purchased four Lionel freight cars from a local hobby shop. I had them in a paper shopping bag and was running them through the TSA point at the airport when one of the officers looked in the bag and said "Lionel trains? Wow, I didn't think they made them anymore!" Next thing you know there were three other officers looking at the cars and gushing over them! "Wow! Where'd you find them?" So we had a fun few minutes talkin' toy trains before I had to step out smartly and get on the plane. Goes to show you, you bring trains on carry-on and you never know what might happen! Good video Sid! Thanks! (I see Dakman put in a Conrail plug!"
Huh...I always thought the wireless drawbar was a Protosound 3 thing. (I can't say that I kept track of when it appeared though). I still have my PS1 version, although that one is out-of-service while it's halfway through a PS2 conversion. I did make it to this fall's show. "First Rule of York" was invoked less than 5 minutes from arrival at Orange Hall, which scored me three MTH production-sample Premier ATSF coaches at Uncle Jack's next door to Bob's Trainz 4U. Next day saw me pick up some Menards UTLX modern tankers, and last day I ran across a Premier GATX tanker with the sinister-sounding number 6666, and a red Kusan KRR boxcar to go with the yellow version I picked up from Neely's some years ago. No video of my small haul, but photos are in the OGR Forum. I missed out on 99% of the social mixer, having arrived just as the meetup was nearly done breaking up, but I did get to shake hands with some of the movers and shakers just before they left. (I was sporting the Amtrak hoodie). Maybe next time.
Hey! I saw myself in that picture when that meet up for the RUclips users. Also Sid I found out why you did a lot of work on those Lionel MPC Era 4-8-4 Northerns mine being a Rock Island northern. Turns out it has a few kinks in it and I might need to get it fixed.
The Greenbrier is a beauty ! You did well in your purchases. Thanks for the show's insight as well. I noticed the two brick buildings with the arched windows on your layout....are they kits ? They're terrific !
Hey Sid! Nice video and nice haul from York! I have a question for you if you don't mind. Can you run MTH Protosound engines from a #990 legacy remote? Thanks!
