Kyle, you should save yourself some trouble with fitting the engine in the jetboat, get yourself a dry sump setup and one of them fancy new skunk2 valve covers to help get that engine nice and low.
With the aggressive cornering this unit will be doing on the water, I'd recommend to try going with a dry sump oil system. It might help with fitting the motor a bit better as well. Stoked to see this thing ripping the river ways soon!
You hit alot more side g-force in a car than you do in a jet boat, they lean into the corner keeping the oil more level in the sump relative to the boat.

If they were worried about height they just should have done a k20a /2 I don't understand why they didn't think of that in the first place. Would make 350 to 450 HP easily as well.🤷🏻♂️

Wouldn't a dry sump be a good idea? Save some space and help the engine stay running as you will have some wild lateral forces in a jet boat. Take a wide high speed turn and the engine may starve for oil.
My thoughts exactly. it would clearance better, and you wouldn't have to worry about the oil pick up not having oil to recirculate into the engine/turbo.
Not going to lie I kind of thought they might put the two rotor in it because it's so unique for a jet boat might have been a challenge for them since it's outside their element .. but hitting VTech in the jet boat is pretty cool, and because there's a lot of room to grow with that setup it's also a good choice
Definitely second this. Dry sump will reduce the height as well. If you wanted to turbo it, you could put a heat exchanger inline with the oil lines to get some heat out of the oil too.

Could make the K sit lower in the boat with a dry sump. Quick tip, if you need to remove bitumen sound insulation, use an electric paint stripper and a gasket scraper. It is pretty quick, low noise and no dust. Perfect for keeping your interior mint! 👌

Should extend to the rear, not to the front, because of limited passenger space. Also leaving a small gap (by moving the seat 2-3 inch forward) is good for ventilation but could be very noisy.
How much more does the k20 weigh compared to the jet ski motors😂 its going to be a heavy as fuck compared to the mountains dew ripper haha would a 400-500hp 300kg engine and the jet drive be as good as a 300hp enhine with half the weight/rotating mass🤔 deffs keen to see what they are going to do/break😂🙂

Rotaries do not go well in jet boats, due to the revs they require. We have a rotary jet sprint boat here in New Zealand that they had to detune to get it to work. They have tried turbo and now are trialing a supercharger. It runs on Methanol. the jet drives are not designed to run at the revs required.
Kyle, use the heat gun & a scraper, soften the deadening material & scrape it off. Then once most of it is off, you can wipe the residue off with some benzene ,& a cloth, will not damage your paint
it might be tough making big power depending on how the drive loads up the motor & stuff, I am clueless about it all. Does anyone know if the drive he will likely use will be 1:1, over, or under driven?

What about using a scraper blade attachment on an oscillator multi tool for the sound deadening. Might make it come of in better pieces and easier to clean up than the wire wheel.
Get Wyatt to make a sheet metal back. Put a couple bead rolls in it and it’ll be a nice one piece rear. You could even cut and rivet it if you had to around the rollbars after you caint the page.
To remove the stuck sound deadening, use dry ice to freeze it then hammer it off. You may need to buy more for the section you are working on and use cardboard and sticky tape to trap it against the verticle section you are working on, but certainly can save a fair bit of time and mess over using a grinder / wheel to remove it.
Dry ice gets that sound deadening material off pretty good. Just have to come up with a method of keeping it against the panel. Let it sit for awhile and super cool it and then it comes off much easier.
Build a little cardboard surface or some vinyl sheeting from harbor fright n tape it on to the back deck you removed the metal from and leave the top open so you can fill between the cardboard/vinyl sheet full of crushed dry ice and leave sit for a good bit and remove, give er a few good cracks with a nice BFH and that stuff will come off clean! Did this on my evo and i had some areas that where CAKED Just like the MR2 is! I know y’all have prly tried the dry ice but you have to be patient and get a good contact to the sound deadening 💪🏻💪🏻

Dont force it just for a K swap, it will make the boat heavier and you guys will really like having the 4 seat. Im sure you can make it work but you'll have a better working boat to go out and shoot river content with everyone. Get a jet boat hull like Toms later for a K build, you could get in on some races with Jackstand Jimmy's jet boat.

Have you thought about going with the K23a1? We are currently building it now. Had to find a flywheel, modified the starter opening to work. Intake headers need to be swapped and fabbed up. Using an RAA intake header and fabing up the exhaust header once the turbo shows up. Going to be using a Borgwarner S200SX-E.
Put up a dry sump kit on that motor...last thing you want is to blow it because the oil sloshed away the pickup because of all the waves and jumps and sometimes the flips, plus it brings the sump height lower for more clearance too Hope none of yall thought of going to the moon with that...but go for it!
You could more than likely use the EP3 style Jackson Racing charger. It’s mounted in a way that allows for a lot of clearance. The rsx style Jackson and comptech stick out further. Roots blower would be cool rather than turbo or rotrex.
You should have done a b18 with a dry sump and a compact valve cover to make it smaller. With just a small turbo or a bit of nos you can make all the power you want

I would hope they make it dry sump but at minimum I would hope they install a baffled pan.
Chain drive or a drop box should save them a lot of headaches.

Have you thought about going with the K23a1? We are currently building it now. Had to find a flywheel, modified the starter opening to work. Intake headers need to be swapped and fabbed up. Using an RAA intake header and fabing up the exhaust header once the turbo shows up. Going to be using a Borgwarner S200SX-E.

Put up a dry sump kit on that motor...last thing you want is to blow it because the oil sloshed away the pickup because of all the waves and jumps and sometimes the flips, plus it brings the sump height lower for more clearance too

You could more than likely use the EP3 style Jackson Racing charger. It’s mounted in a way that allows for a lot of clearance. The rsx style Jackson and comptech stick out further. Roots blower would be cool rather than turbo or rotrex.
Y'alls should use a jet pump from a big jet boat like from a v8 for more volume of flow
You should have done a b18 with a dry sump and a compact valve cover to make it smaller. With just a small turbo or a bit of nos you can make all the power you want
